Finanční gramotnost uživatelů azylových domů / Financial literacy of users of refuges

JANOUŠOVÁ, Věra January 2016 (has links)
Financial literacy is a topic of the day which concerns all the categories of the population in their everyday life. The thesis titled Financial Literacy of Refuge Clients tries to describe the theme of financial literacy from two points of view. On one hand, from the viewpoint of people who, for various reasons, have become clients of refuge and on the other hand, from the viewpoint of social workers who work in refuge. The theoretical part is divided into four subchapters which describe a given issue. An explanation of the basic terminology related to the topic is followed by a subchapter on financial education of children and adults and activities in the field of education. The third subchapter deals with potential effects of financial literacy and the end of the theoretical part focuses on social work with refuge clients. The practical part describes a research which consists of two parts. To achieve the defined goal, a qualitative research has been employed in both parts, using the survey method and the semi-structured interview technique. The document contents analysis was used in the second part of the research. The survey research was carried out in five refuge of Diaconia of the Evangelical Church of the Czech Brethren. The first part of the survey involved fifteen communication partners, users of the refuge as a social service. The second part of the survey involved five communication partners, social workers in refuge. Both survey samples were created by a special-purpose selection. The data gathered in the interviews were evaluated by means of the open coding method. The main goal of the thesis was to find out how refuge clients view their own financial literacy and a potential for improvement in this respect. A sub-goal of the thesis focused on learning viewpoints of the social workers regarding the potential for improving financial literacy of the refuge clients. The survey results have shown that the category of financial literacy within the meaning as defined in literature is not represented in the refuge clients. With regard to their generally difficult situation which also includes their financial situation, the category of financial literacy narrowed to the efforts to make both ends meet at the end of the month and to the question whether or not to deal with financial claims, debts or distraints. This is the setting which has to be the basis for work of social workers in refuge as well. There exists a wide-ranging offer of potential paths leading to financial literacy for all categories of the population, regardless their address. Leaving aside education at school, getting further information is optional, conditioned by everybody's own interest. To increase financial literacy of the clients, social workers may choose from many options, or use their own knowledge and skills. The main prerequisite for success is to adapt themselves to the clients' interest and capabilities. The thesis describes attitudes of refuge clients to financial literacy issues which are identical to the attitudes of this specific category of the population to addressing their difficult financial situation. Social workers become aware of additional possibilities of financial literacy improvement which they can use when working with their clients. Based on the survey results obtained, a comprehensible leaflet has been prepared, containing the essential information about financial literacy. The leaflet in both electronic and printed version will be available for those interested in it, i.e. refuge clients, social workers as well as the general public.

JELÍNKOVÁ, Hana January 2009 (has links)
The topic of my thesis is called Current Questions about Foster Care in the Czech Republic. European Union organizations and UNICEF organizations, due to the information from experts, have been drawing attention to the fact, that there is a high percentage of children under the age of three years living in various institutions. It is therefore necessary for the state to increase the support for substitutive family care. The theoretical part describes the function and defects of a family, psychic deprivation of children, the history of foster care, the institution of foster care and its new forms and other. The target of the research and hypothesis is stated in the practical part. The target of the thesis is an attempt to clarify all the reasons why children live in institutions and why finding a substitutive family for them is difficult. The targeted sample was represented by 110 children from all regions of the Czech Republic except the South Bohemia region. These children{\crq} s collection of documents was forwarded in the second half of the year 2007 to the Regional Council of South Bohemia Region. In accordance with the target of the work following hypothesis were determined: Hypothesis no. 1: Most of the targeted children have serious disabilities. Hypothesis no. 2: The targeted sample were mainly children between 7 {--} 10 years old. Hypothesis no.3: The most frequent reason why children stay in institutions is the fact that their parents are not able to look after them. Hypotheses have been refuted. Characteristic of research sample processed.

Sanace rodiny z pohledu pracovníků pověřených k výkonu sociálně právní ochrany dětí / Family preservation from the viewpoint of the employees charged with the social and legal protection of children

MALOUŠKOVÁ, Marie January 2018 (has links)
This master's thesis is focused on the problematic associated with family remediation. It offers a view into the issues connected with working with a family in which there is a child whose biological, social and psychological development is endangered. The thesis consists of a theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part we can find an insight into the problematic of family remediation. This part of the thesis also explains the term family remediation, neglect and children at risk. I have focused on family, its function and typology. One of the chapters is focused on families which were included in the family remediation program. The thesis also mentions the course of family remediation, strengthening of parental skills and the social and legal protection of children. In the research part of the thesis my goal is to find out the elements of preventive action in the case of a threat to the development of the child and how in practice parental skills are applied. Consistent with the goal of the thesis three research questions, relating to the function of a multidisciplinary team, questions on how parental skills are strengthened, and what improvements are possible in the context of preventive work with the family, were established. Quantitative research was chosen in order to find the goal. It was realized using the pooling method and using the semi-structured interview technique. The subsequent data analysis was evaluated using the data classification method. In conclusion, both the aim of the thesis and the research questions were fulfilled. From the results we can ensure that case conference is useful in the area of preventive work with family but it's both organizationally and time demanding in small frequencies of realization and in relation to the needs of employees and families. Another finding was that developing an individual child protection plan takes up a lot of time and is the cause of worker's work efficiency deterioration. The gathered information can be beneficial for general public but also for the students of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences as a study material. Also the gathered information could help workers of social and legal protection of children as feedback of their work.

No. of bitstreams: 1 arquivo total.pdf: 1951383 bytes, checksum: 78b8c51a33df97c47ff485784e336242 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-05-16 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / The Brazilian family passed through inner transformations for centuries, since the Portuguese colonization. Such European influences had become effective as time passed by, culminating with the advent and with the development of technology, essentially with the discovery of the DNA, for instance, among other factors. By the beginning of the twentieth century, the movements and social protests in support of the women became stronger leading to a new perspective for the modification of the Brazilian family, and consequently of the Brazilian states. The state of Paraíba, which has been immersed in the context of this historical development, also passes along the time through the social, political, cultural, and economical transformations, acquired its own singularities, as well as those from the territories that surrounds it. So, the present research has as its general objective to identify the historical elements which constitute the different families configurations inside the paraibana society. Moreover, as specific objectives, were presented the reflection about the progress of the capitalist system as a historic determinant of modification into the families‟ configurations. Besides, it was analyzed how the public politics, which compose the social security, can guarantee the rights of these different families configurations, and finally, the identification of the understanding of the PNAS professionals who work directly with the paraibanas families, and how they can guarantee the right of such families independently of their configurations. The research configures itself as a critical-analytical study, with a quantitative-qualitative feature as a methodological procedure of analyses for the object. The use of a theoretical-methodological referential centered in the understanding of the family, of the state, of the social politics, and of the capitalism, besides the conceptual variants contained in the term family, were constructed from the conceptions of authors, such as Behring (2008), Carvalho (2008), Dias (2008), Engels (s/d), Esping-Andersen, (1990), Freyre (2013), Lessa (2012), Mioto (2004, 2015), among others, which showed to be indispensable in this research. Beyond this first approach, the research is a result of the investigations concerning the conceptions and the acting of the professionals who work in the Nacional Politics of Social Assistance – PNAS (in Portuguese). Such professionals provided relevant data for our debate, which were collected via a field research, intermediated by the event CapacitaSuas, occurred in the city of João Pessoa – PB (in one of its phases) between September 21 and September 25 of 2015. The field research was divided in three parts in order to reinforce the notes previously listed in different contexts: the first step is based on questionnaires applied to social assistants of the mentioned event; the second occurred from the formation of a focal group also constituent of social assistants; and the third was composed by workshops in classroom with other professional categories working in the PNAS. Then, we had an approximate number of 130 professionals who directly contributed with the research, resulting in several conceptions concerning the family and its referrals to the realization of the social rights applicable in the context of the social assistance.

Åhlander, Viktor January 2016 (has links)
This master thesis is thematically treating three short stories of Andrey Platonov: Bessmertie, Fro and Vozvraščenie. The purpose is to examine how Platonov presents the Soviet family and to what extent it fits the Soviet family politics. The family portraits are analysed in comparison with the guiding principles of the doctrine of Socialist Realism with the trends of Socialist Realism and family policy of the time into consideration.       The first part describes Platonov’s life, the Socialist Realism, and the family policies of the Soviet Union. It also discusses how the influences of the time could have affected the author’s later works. The second part consists of an analysis of the three short stories mentioned above.      The conclusion is that there is an opposition between the task of working and family life in the stories. Despite the fact that Platonov problematizes this opposition, there are few signs that he writes with an intended direct opposition towards the Soviet power or censorship. The themes of his stories are instead in fact following the development of contemporary family politics, and that is a development with a Soviet family that is “withering away”. / <p>Min examen är från Masterprogrammet i språk. Understanding kinship care of children in Africa: a family environment or an alternative care option?

Assim, Usang Maria January 2013 (has links)
Doctor Legum - LLD / In Africa generally, orphaned and vulnerable children are traditionally cared for by their relatives or close family friends; this is an abiding practice even in contemporary times. This was historically considered to be a moral obligation binding on different relatives in different ways or at differing levels. In the face of the increasing complexities and changing demographics in African societies, high levels of poverty and socioeconomic inequalities as well as the incidence of HIV and AIDS, among others, the traditional family continues to undergo structural changes and experience various challenges which make child rearing responsibilities difficult to cope with especially in the context of loss of parental care. Nonetheless, the extended family system still bears the greatest burden in caring for such children, despite the obligation of governments to provide alternative care for children without parental care. The care of children who have become deprived of parental care by other relatives/family members or family friends is generally described as kinship care. This study seeks to examine kinship care against the background of international children’s rights law as encapsulated in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the United Nations Guidelines on the Alternative Care of Children and the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child, among others. Thus, this research seeks answers to a number of related research questions such as: Does the international children’s rights framework recognise or provide for kinship care as a measure of alternative care for children deprived of a family environment? What is the history and practice of kinship care in Africa and what are the challenges confronting kinship care in contemporary African societies? What is the relationship between kinship care and the child protection system? And what forms of support are available for kinship care at both the international and national levels? Four main themes are considered in separate chapters of the thesis as follows: the contextual and historical background to kinship care in Africa; the international and regional legal framework on the right to alternative care; the conceptualisation of kinship care as alternative care; and the law and practice of kinship care in selected domestic jurisdictions. South Africa and Namibia are the main focus of this study in the chapter on the status of kinship care at the domestic level. This is mainly because both countries have made some progress in the attempts at (legally) providing for kinship care and addressing some of its attendant challenges, with a particular emphasis on the provision of support for kinship care.
