Visando a performance no palco, muitos tradutores de texto dramático produzem uma tradução próxima à cultura alvo no intuito de tornar a peça acessível para o público. A encenação tem servido de justificativa para a prática da tradução que restringe detalhes estilísticos fundamentais da obra, limitando-se a transpor apenas o sentido geral da mesma. Tendo em vista esta problemática em torno da tradução de texto dramático, esta análise terá como fio condutor buscar em que medida as traduções analisadas reproduzem os artifícios estilísticos dos quais Molière lança mão para compor Les Femmes Savantes. Pretende-se, com a análise, compreender como a obra chega até o leitor brasileiro e discutir as escolhas e soluções encontradas pelos tradutores. A análise terá como apoio um estudo sobre o autor e a obra e será embasada nos estudos concernentes à tradução de texto dramático de Patrice Pavis (2008) e Susan Bassnett (1991, 2005) e no estudo elaborado por Gabriel Conesa (1992), sobre os traços estilísticos da dramaturgia de Molière. / This dissertation consists in analyzing two translations of the play Les Femmes Savantes (2003), by Molière (1622-1673), to Brazilian Portuguese: As Sabichonas (2005), translated by Jenny Klabin Segall, and As Eruditas (2008), translated by Millôr Fernandes. By aiming at the performance on stage, many translators of dramatic texts produce a translation close to the aimed culture with the purpose of making the play more accessible to the public. The production has served as a justification for the practice of translation that restricts fundamental stylistic details of the play, limiting itself to only transpose its general meaning. By having this problem around the translation of dramatic text in view, this analysis will focus on searching in which proportion the analyzed translations reproduce the stylistic art of which Molière resorts to composing Les Femmes Savantes. With this analysis, it is intended to understand how the play reaches the Brazilian reader as well as discuss the choices and solutions found by the translators. The analysis will have the support of a study about the author and the play and will be based on the studies relative to the dramatic text translation of Patrice Pavis (2008) and Susan Bassnett (1991, 2005) and on the study elaborated by Gabriel Conesa (1992), about the stylistic features of Molière#s playwriting.

Em todas as áreas em que atuou - música, teatro e literatura -, sua arte exibe características como: ironia, despreocupação, repetição, nonsense, jogos de palavras. Esses atributos são tratados aqui como ?armadilhas?, conceito chave de leitura para a peça A Armadilha de Medusa, título desta tradução. Como artifício para enganar, iludir e confundir o leitor, as armadilhas do texto de Satie se tornam potência de leituras múltiplas. O tradutor é um desses leitores, que deve ser capaz de jogar com o texto e cair em suas ciladas, para poder traduzir propondo suas próprias armadilhas.<br> / Abstract : This work presents the translation, from French into Brazilian Portuguese, of the single theatrical text written by Erik Satie, Le Piège de Méduse (1913). In every field in which he has worked - music, theater and literature -, his art displays characteristics such as: irony, unconcern, repetition, nonsense, game of words. These attributes are treated here as ?traps?, key concept for reading the play A Armadilha de Medusa, title of this translation. As an artifice to delude, deceive and confuse the reader, the traps from Satie?s text become power for multiple readings. The translator is one of these readers who must be able to play with the text and fall into its traps in order to translate by proposing their own traps.
