The aim of this study was to evaluate the genotoxic potential of 10% hydrogen peroxide (PH) in patients submitted at-home bleaching using a tray and two types of bleaching strips. The volunteers included in the study were randomly divided into: TOB Group - Oral B whitening strips; TUD Group - Ultradent whitening strips; And MPH Group - trays. The sample size was 20 participants per group for a study with 80% power and 5% alpha. The evaluation was done through the Micronucleus test, in three periods: before the bleaching procedure (D0), immediately after the end of treatment (D14) and 30 days after the end of treatment (D30), from the count of 1000 Cells. Data were submitted to the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and the Kruskal-Wallis-Dunn test that showed that there was no significant difference between the groups and between the periods analyzed (p = 0.0109). It was concluded that there was no genotoxicity of hydrogen peroxide (PH) to 10% in patients submitted to home bleaching in the different forms of application tested and in the periods evaluated. / A modalidade de clareamento caseiro vem sendo bastante empregada nas últimas décadas por ser considerada mais segura para o elemento dental e apresentar comprovada eficácia clínica. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o potencial genotóxico do peróxido hidrogênio (PH) a 10% em pacientes submetidos ao clareamento caseiro, utilizando moldeira e dois tipos de tiras clareadoras. Os voluntários incluídos na pesquisa foram aleatoriamente divididos em: Grupo TOB - tiras clareadoras da Oral B; Grupo TUD - tiras clareadoras da Ultradent; e Grupo MPH – moldeiras. O tamanho amostral foi de 20 participantes por grupo para um estudo com poder de 80% e alfa de 5%. A avaliação foi feita através do teste de Micronúcleos, em três tempos: antes do procedimento de clareamento (D0), imediatamente após o fim do tratamento (D14) e 30 dias após o final do tratamento (D30), a partir da contagem de 1000 células. Os dados foram submetidos ao teste de normalidade Shapiro-Wilk e ao teste de Kruskal-Wallis-Dunn que expôs que não houve diferença significante entre os grupos e entre os tempos analisados (p= 0.0109). Concluiu-se que não houve genotoxicidade do peróxido hidrogênio (PH) a 10% em pacientes submetidos ao clareamento caseiro nas diferentes formas de aplicação testadas e nem nos tempos avaliados.
