Este trabajo, en cuanto estudia la sequía como riesgo climático y desastre natural recurrente en interacción con el tejido social y económico del área de estudio (Cuenca del Guadalentín, SE de España), analiza desde una perspectiva global, integrando parámetros climáticos (que determinan el grado de peligrosidad) y socioeconómicos (que definen la vulnerabilidad de la población ante este fenómeno natural extremo), la problemática de las sequías, determinando la adecuación de las políticas de combate a los efectos que provocan y formulando una redefinición del ámbito geográfico sobre el que deberían ser implantadas medidas de prevención y mitigación que sustituyan a las actuales de carácter urgente y eventual. / This work analyzes drought as climatic risk and natural disaster in interaction with the society of the area of study (Guadalentin river basin, SE of Spain). The study analyzes from a global perspective, integrating climatic parameters (that determine the degree of dangerousness) and socioeconomic measures (that define the vulnerability of the population to this natural extreme phenomenon), the problematics of the droughts, determining the adequacy of the policies of combat to the effects that them motivate, and specifying measures of prevention and mitigation that should substitute the current ones of urgent and eventual character.
