Comparisons between the Doubly Fed Induction Generator and Permanent Magnet Generator are developed in order to establish the different dynamic behavior of each type of wind unit. The constituent parts of wind turbines are studied, performed the modeling and usual control methods are discussed. The simulations were performed in a computer program Matlab / Simulink® whose control models were developed according to the literature, as well as the respective block diagrams for each model.
