O objetivo deste trabalho foi compreender o n?vel de satisfa??o de usu?rios experientes (i.e., acima de um ano de uso) do Portal, buscando verificar quais as necessidades e expectativas desse perfil de usu?rio quanto ? disposi??o das informa??es para realiza??o de tarefas no sistema. A investiga??o consistiu nas seguintes a??es: (1) estudo preliminar da arquitetura da informa??o da interface; (2) abordagem inicial com usu?rios e desenvolvedores do sistema, por meio da aplica??o de question?rios; (3) sess?es de entrevista e avalia??o cooperativa com usu?rios; (4) s?ntese dos problemas e formula??o de diretrizes para redesign e (5) desenvolvimento e avalia??o de prot?tipos da nova interface. / This dissertation shows a research on interface design of Management Portal, an important area of Integrated System of Patrimony, Management and Agreements (SIPAC), accessed by public-servants of Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The main objective was to comprehend the satisfaction level of the expert users (i.e., over one year of use) with the Portal, verifying what the needs and expectations of this user profile about the information distribution to operate tasks on the system. For the investigation was used the next techniques: (1) introductory study on interface's information architecture; (2) first approach to the users and developers of the system, through survey application; (3) interviews and cooperative evaluation with the users; (4) synthesis of problems and defining the criteria for the redesign and (5) development and validation of interface proposal prototypes. The results point to positive appreciation of the users about the interface's redesign proposal, verifying as satisfactory and beneficial the use of qualitative data as metrics for the information architecture studies for designing of graphical interfaces.

Nesse contexto, a partir da observa??o de duplicidade de dep?sito da produ??o cient?fica armazenada no Reposit?rio Institucional e no Sistema Integrado de Gest?o de Atividades Acad?micas, ambos da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, e da aus?ncia de comunica??o entre os sistemas, objetiva-se promover a interoperabilidade entre esses dois sistemas com vistas a imprimir visibilidade a produ??o cient?fica dos membros da institui??o. Com isso, partiu-se da hip?tese que ? poss?vel tornar os sistemas interoper?veis. A metodologia utilizada corresponde ? pesquisa-a??o, a qual proporciona a??es conjuntas entre pesquisador e participantes. A amostra de pesquisa foi composta por participantes diretamente envolvidos com os sistemas, visando uma coleta sistem?tica de dados. Nessa perspectiva, foram analisados os referidos sistemas, por meio da observa??o participante, bem como foram efetivadas entrevistas com os respectivos gestores, e realizado o grupo focal, com alguns sujeitos da pesquisa. A an?lise de conte?do foi utilizada para categorizar e tratar as infer?ncias e gerar os resultados. Dessa forma, a pesquisa demonstrou que, dos diversos tipos de documentos armazenados no Sistema Integrado de Gest?o de Atividades Acad?micas, apenas as disserta??es e teses disp?em de pr?-requisitos que contribuem para a interoperabilidade. Sugere-se com base nisso, a??es e um modelo que objetivam promover essa interoperabilidade. / Interoperability enables communication between open access digital repositories and can facilitate and expedite the production's deposit in repositories. In this context, from observation of duplicity of the scientific production stored in the Institutional Repository and in the integrated management system of academic activities, both at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, and the absence of communication between the systems, the goal is to promote interoperability between these two systems with a view to print visibility to scientific production of members of the institution. With it, it broke the hypothesis that it is possible to make interoperable systems. The methodology used corresponds to action research, which provides joint actions between the researcher and participants. The research sample was composed of participants directly involved with the systems, aiming at a systematic collection of data. In this perspective, such systems were analyzed, through participant observation, as well as interviews with the respective were effective managers, and conducted the focus group, with some subjects of research. The content analysis was used to categorize and treat the inferences and generate the results. In this way, the research demonstrated that, of the various types of documents stored in the integrated management system of academic activities, only the dissertations and theses have prerequisites that contribute to interoperability. It is suggested that basis, actions and a model that aim to promote such interoperability.

Utiliza??o de um ambiente virtual de aprendizagem: um estudo na perspectiva da pr?tica docente

Synchronized with this dynamic, educational institutions are incorporating technological tools that assist its management and academic support to teachers in teaching and interaction with the students. Given that technological innovations are not always taken homogeneously and with the same degree of coverage, remain current and relevant studies on how these technologies are being used in academia. The objective of this research is to identify the usage profile of the functionality of a virtual learning environment related to teaching (undergraduate or postgraduate), demographic variables (age and gender) and institutional (time of admission and academic center of origin.) The methodology applied to the study is descriptive and quantitative. The research is characterized as census, covering all 2152 teachers of undergraduate and graduate students of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, who accessed the virtual classes of the Integrated Management of Academic Activities. The study findings revealed that there is a statistically significant difference regarding the use of these tools to teachers who work with undergraduate (49.3%) compared to graduate (6.6%). Regarding gender, women (40.1%) use the system more than men (38.5%). It was also observed that the younger teachers, aged 37 years, are the most active users (42.5%) of the Virtual Class with respect to their elders. For teachers with up to three years time of admission to the UFRN, the pattern of use is more advanced than those with more seniority, as well as the faculty of the Center for Science and Technology are the least likely to use the tools available in relation to other academic centers. It is hoped that with this study managers can direct actions to improve and expand the use of this environment by teachers / Os avan?os trazidos pelas tecnologias de informa??o s?o vis?veis e inerentes ao gerenciamento das organiza??es contempor?neas, independentemente do ramo de atua??o. Acompanhando essa din?mica, as institui??es educacionais v?m incorporando ferramentas tecnol?gicas que auxiliam a sua gest?o e d?o suporte ao docente nas atividades acad?micas e na intera??o com os discentes. Tendo em vista que as inova??es tecnol?gicas nem sempre s?o adotadas de forma homog?nea e com o mesmo grau de abrang?ncia, continuam atuais e relevantes os estudos acerca da forma como essas tecnologias est?o sendo utilizadas no meio universit?rio. O objetivo desta pesquisa ? identificar o perfil de uso das funcionalidades de um ambiente virtual de aprendizagem relacionado com a atividade de ensino (gradua??o ou p?sgradua??o), vari?veis demogr?ficas (idade e g?nero) e institucionais (tempo de admiss?o e lota??o de centro acad?mico). A metodologia aplicada ao estudo ? do tipo descritiva, de natureza quantitativa. A pesquisa se caracteriza como censit?ria, abrangendo todos os 2.152 docentes dos cursos de gradua??o e p?s-gradua??o da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte que acessaram as Turmas Virtuais do Sistema Integrado de Gest?o das Atividades Acad?micas nos per?odos de 2010.2 e 2011.1. A an?lise evidenciou que h? diferen?a estatisticamente significante quanto ? utiliza??o dessas ferramentas com os docentes que atuam na gradua??o (49,3%) em rela??o aos da p?s-gradua??o (6,6%). Em rela??o ao g?nero, as mulheres (40,1%) usam mais o sistema que os homens (38,5%). Observou-se tamb?m que os docentes mais jovens, com idade at? 37 anos, s?o os usu?rios mais atuantes (42,5%) do Turma Virtual em rela??o aos mais velhos.
