Este trabalho, ao investigar o edifício e o lugar como suportes de manifestações gráficas, tem por objetivo avaliar, a partir de pesquisa iconográfica, o papel comunicacional que determinados edifícios e lugares urbanos assumem, especialmente no contexto cultural dos séculos XX e XXI, quando o trinômio vitruviano passa também a incorporar aspectos gráficos e visuais. A investigação compreende ainda uma reflexão acerca das questões teóricas e históricas dos processos de fusão da arquitetura como símbolo da sociedade de consumo e do espetáculo. / This work has for purpose to investigate the building and the place, as supports of graphical manifestations. It has for objective to evaluate, based in iconographic research, the comunicacional paper that determined buildings and urban places assumes, mainly in the cultural context of century XX and XXI, where the Vitruvius trinomial also passes to incorporate aspects of the visual expression. The inquiry still understands a reflection concerning the theoretical and historical questions of the processes of fusing of the architecture as symbolic function of the society of consumption and the spectacle.
