Στην παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία ασχοληθήκαμε με την ανάπτυξη Υπηρεσιών Ιστού (της περισσότερο δημοφιλούς και ευρέως διαδεδομένης υλοποίησης της υπηρεσιοστρεφούς αρχιτεκτονικής) για την υλοποίηση του παρακάτω σεναρίου ( use case scenario) :
• Μηχανογράφηση του τμήματος Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών
Στο σενάριο αυτό υλοποιήσαμε υπηρεσίες που εξυπηρετούν τους φοιτητές, τους καθηγητές και την γραμματεία αυτού.
Πιο συγκεκριμένα απαιτείται μέσω του Internet:
• Ο φοιτητής να έχει την δυνατότητα : α) να δηλώσει τα μαθήματα και τα συγγράμματα που επιθυμεί για το τρέχων εξάμηνο β) να δει το ιστορικό δηλώσεων των δηλώσεων και αλλαγών για όλα τα μαθήματα και γ) την αναλυτική βαθμολογία του.
• Ο καθηγητής να έχει την δυνατότητα α) να ανεβάζει τη βαθμολόγια των μαθημάτων .β) να έχει πρόσβαση στη λίστα των φοιτητών που έχουν δηλώσει τα μάθηματά του. Eπιπλέον ο πρόεδρος του τμήματος έχει τη δυνατότητα πρόσβασης σε στατιστικά στοιχεία για τις εξεταστικές.
• Η γραμματεία του τμήματος α) να έχει τη δυνατότητα να εγκρίνει τις δηλώσεις των φοιτητών και β) να έχει την δυνατότητα πρόσβασης στα στοιχεία των φοιτητών( δηλώσεις , βαθμολογίες κ.λ.π.) / The purpose of this diploma thesis was the development of Web Services ( one of the most popular and well known implementation solution of Service Oriented Architecture) in purpose of providing a solution using methods in the following use case scenario
• Computerization of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the University of Patras
In this use case we developed web services that allow both the students and the department staff (faculty members and secretaries alike) to interact with each other.
More specifically via the use of Internet:
• The students have the ability to a) apply for their semester courses and their respective books b) view their course application history and c) view their exam grades for each course
• The faculty staff and professors, have the ability a) to upload the exam grades to the department's database and b) have access to the list which contains the names of the students that have applied for their courses.
In addition the dean must have access to statistical data concerning the exam grades.
• The secretary staff has the ability to review the course applications of the students and take the appropriate action (such as reject or accept the application). In addition the secretary staff has access to all data concerning the students (grades ,course application history etc.)

The demands of software engineering increases with everyday passed and every organization shows interest to work on daily routine work in the computerized system to improve efficiency and accuracy of data. Most of organization demands different kinds of computerized software solutions that developed in modern technologies. There are different software development technologies that is getting popular with the passage of time and provide high quality product to their user. It is not an easy to decide which technology choose to develop computerized system where most software falls. The primary purpose of thesis is to compare two different modern software development technologies by develop an application with same functional requirements. This thesis report will help to user for selection of software development technology. Cash and bank financial application is choose to develop using .NET and Java Enterprise Edition. Microsoft Visual Studio development environment is used for .NET development and NetBeans IDE is used for Java Enterprise Edition application. .NET framework contains many language that are interrelated with each other like C#, VB, J#, C++ and F#. Cash and bank application is develop in C# and Java programming languages and persistence storage of data is design in Microsoft SQL Server. Cash and bank application is develop with three tier architecture and layer approach. The syntax of .NET and Java Enterprise Edition is quite similar but procedure to establish connection, data retrieval and handling the data in different way. NET platform provide built in libraries, components and efficient user controls that helps for fast development in short period of time.

Webové služby jako realizace architektury orientované na služby / Realisation of Service-Oriented Architecture: Web ServicesJiráček, Pavel January 2009 (has links)
The main subject of this master thesis is the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). It shows a complete overview of Web Services in terms of realisation of a SOA. The thesis mentions what is already done and what else remains to ful ll the basic SOA principles. Then, it reviews Java EE platform tools used to deal with the Web Services. Next, it introduces the Java Management Extensions (JMX) technology as a solution of the web service's area - SOA governance. Moreover, it examinates the possible usage of JMX for the web service's management and monitoring issues. Finally, it implements an exemplary web services management and monitoring application on GlassFish server for testing purposes.
