A diagnose do gênero é revista e um estudo de caracteres diagnósticos é realizado. O status das onze espécies nominais até agora incluídas no gênero é avaliado, bem como o de espécies de gêneros próximos que poderiam ser incluídas em Mischonyx. O material de Gonyleptinae de diversas instituições foi estudado para definir a distribuição geográfica das espécies e identificar possíveis novas espécies. Os resultados incluem: (1) duas espécies ainda não descritas, aqui chamadas Mischonyx sp. nova 1 e Mischonyx sp. nova 2 são caracterizadas. (2) Ilhaia parva Roewer, 1913 é restaurada da sinonímia de Mischonyx squalidus, Bertkau, 1880 sob a nova combinação Mischonyx parvus. (3) Ilhaia cuspidata Roewer, 1913 (correntemente Mischonyx cuspidatus) é considerada sinônimo júnior subjetivo de Mischonyx squalidus, Bertkau, 1880. (4) Geraecormobiella convexa Mello-Leitão, 1931 (correntemente Geraecormobius convexus) e Weyhia bresslaui Roewer, 1927 (correntemente Gerarcormobius bresslaui) são transferidos para Mischonyx. (5) Ilhaia sulina Soares & Soares, 1947 (correntemente Mischonyx sulinus) é considerada sinônimo júnior subjetivo de Xundarava anomala Mello-Leitão, 1936 (correntemente Mischonyx anomalus). (6) Ilhaia meridionalis Mello-Leitão, 1927 (correntemente Mischonyx meriodinalis) é transferida para Geraecormobius e considerada sinônimo júnior subjetivo de Geraecormobius clavifemur Mello-Leitão, 1927. (7) Gonyleptes antiquus Mello-Leitão, 1934 (correntemente Mischonyx antiquus) é removido de Mischonyx, permanecendo con inclusão genérica duvidosa. (8) A distribuição geográfica das espécies de Mischonyx é representada graficamente em mapas, incluindo novos registros geográficos. / A taxonomic review of Mischonyx Bertkau, 1880, distributed in southeastern and southern Brazil, is done. The generic diagnosis is reviewed and a critic review of the diagnostic characters is completed. The status of the eleven nominal species currently included in Mischonyx is evaluated, as well as that of possible closely related genera which could be included in Mischonyx. Material of Gonyleptinae of many institutions has been studied to define the geographic distribution of the species and to identify eventual new species. Results include: ( 1) two undescribed species, herein called Mischonyx sp. nova 1 e Mischonyx sp. nova 2 are characterized. (2) Ilhaia parva Roewer, 1913 is restored from the synonymy of Mischonyx squalidus, Bertkau, 1880 under the new combination Mischonyx parvus. (3) Ilhaia cuspidata Roewer, 1913 (currently Mischonyx cuspidatus) is considered a junior subjective synonym of Mischonyx squalidus, Bertkau, 1880. ( 4) Geraecormobiella convexa Mello-Leitão, 1931 (currently Geraecormobius convexus) e Weyhia bresslaui Roewer, 1927 (currently Geraecormobius bresslaui) are transferred to Mischonyx. (8) The geographic distribution of the species of Mischonyx is graphically represented on maps, including new records.
