POLISKULTUR BLAND GRÄNSPOLISER : En kvalitativ studie med deduktiv utgångspunktSadikovic, Mladen January 2024 (has links)
Police culture is a widely discussed topic in Police Science, yet loosely defined concept. Several studies have been made on the topic, yet there is still a lot a lot of questions to be answered. Police culture has been identified as a composition of several informal and structural elements that form and shape police officers social and behavioral perception, including suspicion, authority, cynicism towards the the department, politics and society, solidarity among police officers, loyalty towards each other, occupational identity and autonomy. This culture is thought to be shared among officers working in the line of duty, creating a strong bond towards each other, making policing a call rather than a job. Could this strong bond of blue also be a wall against the society, making officers lonely? Is police culture the answer on the question what makes a cop, a cop? In this study focus will be on the Swedish Border Police, making the study the first ever made in Swedish context.
