Attempting to consolidate the colonization, a new sociopolitical organization, based on the Portuguese Ancien Régime but also result of the possibilities of that conquest space, was built in the sertões, where the different groups involved in the process set expectations and had new experiences. From the performances of ordinary judges, officers of the Ordinances, and other men of authority, it becomes possible to understand how this space was rearranged by the holders of the top military posts and civil administration positions. Intermingling these spaces of power, the personal relations of the men of the sertão were based on negotiation and reciprocity, thus forming interest and privileges networks aiming to legitimate local elites. Especially through the Notarial Record Books produced by the notaries of the Piancó and the official correspondence of the Arquivo Histórico Ultramarino, we see the operation of socio-political practices that allowed those involved to remain at the center of local power and also to legitimate social distinctions. / Esta dissertação tem como objetivo analisar a formação de grupos sociopolíticos e suas práticas político-administrativas no sertão do Piancó, Capitania da Paraíba do Norte, entre 1711 e 1772. Na busca por consolidar a colonização, uma nova organização sociopolítica, baseada no Antigo Regime português mas fruto também das possibilidades daquele espaço de conquista, foi construída nos sertões, onde os diferentes grupos envolvidos no processo lançaram expectativas e tiveram novas experiências. A partir das atuações de juízes ordinários, de oficiais das Ordenanças, e outros homens de autoridade, torna-se possível compreender como esse espaço foi reordenado pelos detentores dos principais cargos militares e ofícios da administração civil. Entremeando esses espaços de poder, as relações pessoais dos homens do sertão foram baseadas na negociação e na reciprocidade, formando assim redes de interesse e privilégios com o objetivo de legitimar elites locais. Especialmente por meio dos Livros de Notas produzidos pelos tabeliães da Povoação do Piancó e da correspondência oficial do Arquivo Histórico Ultramarino, percebemos a operação de práticas sociopolíticas que permitiram aos envolvidos manterem-se no centro do poder local e também legitimar distinções sociais.
