______________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This research aimed to rebuild the Memories of Araguaian Guerrilla, a group of militants of the Communist Party of Brazil who, from 1966 and 1974, have been in a remote region/area in the Amazon Rain Forest with the objective to spark a revolutionary upheaval in alliance with the local peasants. For rebuilding their memories in the present time, they were used the guerrillas remaining documents, such as diaries and letters, or official military documents as well as oral narratives of survivors, former guerrillas and peasants. The event is studied from the hypothesis that this group, university students in its majority, took up arms and guns in the dream for a more egalitarian and fairer country. The purpose of this research is to seek the meanings of the researched object through the epistemological assumptions that underpin the analysis of cultural history. The purpose of this research is to seek the directions of the object through the epistemological assumptions that preside the analysis of Cultural History in preferred dialogue with the works of Walter Benjamin and Paul Ricoeur. The narrative of events, on the other hand, was interpreted and analyzed in the light of the thoughts of Hannah Arendt, in particular, as well as of Ernest Bloch and Norbert Elias.
