Sequi : Tredimensionell sequencer / Sequi : 3D Sequencer

Persson, Daniel January 2014 (has links)
Music production software has a strong tradition of two-dimensional graphical user interface (GUI), in which the time line is represented as a flat composition either horizontally (from left to right) or vertically (from top to bottom). In my degree work titled Sequi, I approach music composition from a different angle. Instead of a two-dimensional time line with only two possibly ways of progression (forward or backward) I constructed a three-dimensional GUI with the maximum of four different ways of progression from any given point in a composition. The height axis is used to describe time-intervals (the time between downbeats) and the wide and depth axes are used to describe progression from one sound to another.

Graphics Stack for HelenOS / Graphics Stack for HelenOS

Koupý, Petr January 2013 (has links)
Title: Graphics Stack for HelenOS Author: Petr Koupý Department / Institute: Department of Distributed and Dependable Systems Supervisor of the master thesis: Mgr. Martin Děcký Abstract: HelenOS is an experimental operating system based on a micro-kernel multi-server architecture. Before the inception of this thesis, HelenOS already contained numerous mod- ernly designed subsystems responsible for various system tasks. However, it lacked the proper subsystem for interaction with the user. While the input part of such subsystem was already in an advanced stage of development, the output part was just a quick and temporary solution in order to have at least some mean to populate the screen with information. This thesis deals with the creation of a proper graphics subsystem that would replace the temporary one. The resulting new HelenOS graphics subsystem is designed according to the state-of-the-art prin- ciples found within the problem domain. Although minimalistic, the initial implementation is highly extensible and already practically usable by the HelenOS developer community. The thesis covers all important parts of the graphics subsystem - graphic driver infrastructure, drawing library, graphics server and a toolkit for creation of application user interface. Keywords: graphics subsystem, graphical user...

A GUI for Assisting FDTD Computations

Hsieh, Hsi-yun 08 September 2008 (has links)
In the past when we use the FDTD method to analyze electromagnetic problems, it has to properly discretize the structure and time, then analyze by C code. Before analyzing microstrip structures, we have to calculate and draw the distribution of structure on the grid paper. In order to increase the efficiency of drawing structure and coding, we design a GUI that it can draw and discretize the structure properly. This GUI can generate the most appropriate grid size for the user, reduce the distortion. Then, when we are coding the FDTD analysis program according to the output file, we can replace the parts of setting structure and material parameters with reading data and retain the parts of FDTD algorithm and absorbing boundary condition.

GUI test automation for Qt application

Wang, Lei January 2015 (has links)
GUI test automation is a popular and interesting subject in the testing industry. Many companies plan to start test automation projects in order to implement efficient, less expensive software testing. However, there are challenges for the testing team who lack experience performing GUI tests automation. Many GUI test automation projects have ended in failure due to mistakes made during the early stages of the project. The major work of this thesis is to find a solution to the challenges of establishing new test automation projects and determine an appropriate method to build GUI tests automation. Due to the particularity of GUI tests automation, keyword driven test approach is introduced in this thesis. The advantages and disadvantages are shown by undertaking comparison with the Record and replay testing method and the data driven testing method. The research also includes a feasibility study of GUI tests automation. The analysis report points out which kinds of test projects should be automated and which kinds should not be automated. Test automation tool selection is a critical step for an test automation project. This thesis shows the correct procedure for selecting a testing tool and explains the strategies of testing tool selection. It also summaries the mistakes made during the tool selection process. Several classical types of testing tools which support Qt software testing are compared and evaluated. Based on the in-depth analysis and comparison of testing tools, the thesis explains how the different tools fit with the different test projects. The implementation procedure of a test automation is demonstrated in this thesis. The procedure includes test case design and testing framework implementation. The test script is created based on the structure of a keyword driven test framework. The thesis also discusses several interesting topics related to GUI tests automation for future research.

An Engineer's Guide to TMoIP

Hoffman, Richard W., III 10 1900 (has links)
ITC/USA 2014 Conference Proceedings / The Fiftieth Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 20-23, 2014 / Town and Country Resort & Convention Center, San Diego, CA / As telemetry transport systems move inexorably closer to a unified telemetry-over-IP approach, the operators and engineers who have traditionally deferred to a separate communications group can benefit from a more comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of the transport medium and protocol. Ethernet, and more specifically IP network hardware, has gained increased robustness, as well as much of the reliability enhancing functionality of more venerable transport solutions, but with these increasingly integrated feature sets comes an emphasized demand on the telemetry systems operator to be able to configure the telemetry transport network devices in more dynamic environments. This paper will seek to serve as a handbook for the telemetry community, guiding discussions of the strengths, weaknesses, legacy, and future outlook of this transport methodology both within and without the groups involved in most range telemetry transport environments.
