Upplevelse av yrkesrollen som fysioterapeut på privata gym : En kvalitativ intervjustudie / Experience of the professional role as a physiotherapist in private gyms : A qualitative interview study

Lahti, Fredrik, Falk Ehrén, Simon January 2023 (has links)
Background: Physical therapists within the public healthcare system are experiencing greater dissatisfaction with their workload and working conditions. Several new private workplaces have recently opened up for physical therapists, such as gyms. However, there is a lack of knowledge about how physical therapists perceive their employment at private gyms, how their employment may differ from employment within the public healthcare system, and how collaboration works with other professions in the workplace as well as with other healthcare institutions. Purpose: To investigate how physical therapists at private gyms without contracts with the healthcare region perceive their professional role and their experiences in the profession, as well as the opportunities and limitations they experience in their work. Method: Five semi-structured interviews were conducted with privately employed physical therapists from different gyms in Sweden. The data was analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: The results showed that privately employed physiotherapists in gyms experienced lower workloads, more flexible working hours, and worked with healthier patients, often with higher goals compared to public healthcare. However, they reported poorer access to medical equipment and medical colleagues. The professional role differed from personal trainers in terms of clientele and professional competence. Collaborations between the professions occurred to varying extents. Conclusion: The study indicate that physiotherapists working in private gyms experience greater flexibility and freedom in their work compared to public healthcare. Private gyms are perceived to have poorer access to medical equipment and staff compared to public healthcare. The professional role differs from personal trainers as they possess different skills and, therefore, work with different clients. More studies are needed on broader populations to draw conclusions on how the work situation can be optimized for physiotherapists in private and public healthcare.

Expozice dětí atmosférickému aerosolu ve školních tělocvičnách / Exposure of children to atmospheric aerosol in school gyms

Šafránek, Jiří January 2012 (has links)
Research into indoor environment has shown that schools are buildings with high- levels of particulate matter concentrations. This is especially the case of schools situated in high-density traffic or in industrial areas. Several studies have also proven the impact of PM on the teenage generation's health. So far no detailed study has been performed to cover the environment of school gyms where the PM dynamics are different from other indoor microenvironments. This different dynamics relates to the gym environment heterogeneity and to the human activities taking place in it. Due to higher pulmonary ventilation, the exposure of the exercising pupils can reach levels possibly noxious to their health. Size resolved mass concentrations of aerosol were measured in three elementary Schools in Prague. One school was situated in the city centre with high traffic density. The second school was situated on a plateau on the periphery with a medium level traffic. The third school can be found in Prague south-western suburbia, in an open landscape, with low traffic density. PM concentrations were measured simultaneously in naturally ventilated gyms and outdoors ajacent to the particular school building. Two pairs of monitors were used throughout the study: A DustTrak Aerosol Monitor and a Personal Cascade...

The search for a model of lean and muscular body, seen as fit, is a contemporary phenomenon. On the one hand, the body is the object of care and construction of meanings in today's society. On the other hand, the Christian religion has traditionally handled the body under the sign of distrust, as it is the object of sin and perdition. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between body and religion in our days, considering the centrality of the body. It was attempted to show how the change of body importance reflected on the relationship between body and religion, as well as to what extent this has happened. The research was done based on the perception of regular gym-goers. It was investigated how these individuals related the fit body to the religious body, and whether the body has taken a greater religious significance in our society. We believe there are other frontiers between the Christian understanding of the body and the perception of the body among the new contemporary subjectivities. In addition, if there is a search for a fit body, we can also speak of a religious body in shape.

Committed to Exercise : A qualitative study on the persuasive effect and potential of a gym’s online booking system / Schemalagd träning : En kvalitativ studie av ett gyms digitala bokningssystem och dess effekt på användares träningsvanor och motivation

Löthman, Anna, Liljeblad, Malin January 2021 (has links)
While physical activity has many important benefits on our health and well-being, many people find it hard to establish and maintain long-lasting exercise routines. Technology can be an effective tool to combat this issue by increasing users’ motivation to exercise and encouraging them to make healthier choices. In this qualitative study, we explored the persuasive effect and potential of an online booking system (OBS) implemented in a gym in the South West of United Kingdom to limit the amount of people in the facilities during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of our research was to examine gym members’ experiences of the system, how it had impacted their motivation to exercise, and to explore how their experiences could be used in a digital system aiming to promote regular gym-use and long-lasting exercise routines. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews, carried out with five gym members. The results demonstrate that all informants had ambivalent feelings towards the OBS, with both positive and negative attitudes towards the system. Three key findings were identified. First, the system forced the users to adapt their exercise routines and daily activities in general to its new constraints which, in some instances, reduced their motivation to exercise. Second, the activity of booking and scheduling gym sessions gave the users a sense of commitment and determination, which increased their motivation to adhere to their planned exercise regime. Third, the users experienced the increased familiarity in the gym as a positive outcome of the OBS. Based on the empirical findings, we proposed a set of recommended features and three key components which can be beneficial to include in a digital system aiming to increase gym user’s motivation to exercise, and that could come of use to designers developing interactive systems for gym settings.

Propuesta de mejora a través de un modelo de innovación en Pymes del rubro Gimnasio en la ciudad de Lima con el fin de incrementar la fidelidad y permanencia de los clientes usando las herramientas QFD y Lean Service / Proposal for improvement through an innovation model in SMEs of the Gym category in the city of Lima in order to increase the loyalty and permanence of customers using the QFD and Lean Service tools

Rubio Tapia, Kevin Harly, Roca Añorga, Joel Alejandro 31 December 2021 (has links)
In Peru, PYMEs comprise more than 98% of the total market. In addition, they symbolize more than 75% of the entire employed population, resulting in a contribution of 42% of GDP, small companies are also considered those that reach an average of 800 UIT per year with a number of workers not greater than 50 nor less than 10 (University of Lima: Business Profile Magazine, 2016). This is how the great monopolization of the SME sector in the Peruvian market is demonstrated, giving a high power of economic concentration on them. On this occasion, the service area of the gyms in metropolitan Lima was taken as a research subject. Due to its great concentration in the local business market. In turn, the high impact of the need to attend a gym is considered for people today (MINSA, 2017). Despite people's preference for attending a gym, it has been shown that there is a high dropout rate from physical activities by customers, which occurs within a few months of starting a membership. For this reason, the purpose of this thesis is to know the factors that lead to said decline and to promote actions that reduce the churn of customers where we turn to the QFD and Lean Service to analyze the problem. It is worth mentioning that this problem not only brings economic repercussions for gyms, but also at the image level. / Tesis

SHARED GYM

Arévalo Macedo, Andrea Camilla, Miklavec Vilca, Anggelo Stanko, Pizan Salcedo, Miguel Jhonatan, Sánchez Peralta, Enrique Gustavo, Valles Ibañez, Franccesca Katiuska 04 July 2021 (has links)
The present project consists of the implementation of the project on the rental of gym equipment in good condition through a web platform. Due to the current situation, several companies dedicated to providing the gym service through their premises had to close by order of the Peruvian government to mitigate the risk of contagion by COVID-19 and later only opening was allowed with the capacity of only 30 % which generated significant economic losses. Likewise, the people who attended these places stopped doing so for fear of contagion or because they could not attend because there were no hours available, and they were forced to do physical activity at home in a rustic way or by buying gym equipment so as not to lose the routine. For this reason, this project was proposed to solve this problem, which consists of offering a web platform so that people who have gym machines can register on the web platform where the status of their gym machines will be evaluated, and they can rent their equipment to people who require specific gym equipment that allows them to perform physical activity at home. / Trabajo de investigación

Consumer behaviour typology of members of health and fitness centres

Reeler, Rachelle Tanith 02 1900 (has links)
Abstracts in English, Afrikaans and Xhosa / Consumers are an important part of business and understanding their behaviour, wants, and needs plays a vital role in the success of any business. This study focussed on the health and fitness industry in South Africa and the consumers making use of their services, as well as the non-users of these services. The primary objective of this study is to develop a consumer typology for health and fitness centres, based on the consumer behaviour of its members. Non-gym member responses were also solicited. A questionnaire was developed and sent out via email and Facebook, using convenience and snowball sampling to gather quantitative data. In total, 209 responses were received of which 98 were gym members and 111 not. Various statistical analyses were conducted on the data. A factor analysis was done to create a more manageable number of variables, while a cluster analysis was done to indicate whether certain profiles existed within the data. Cross-tabulations were carried out on the profiles to identify any significant differences in terms of their consumer behaviour. A T-test was performed to determine whether any differences existed regarding the choice of a specific health and fitness centre, while two binary logistical regressions were done to identify which factors could predict gym membership. The results indicated that two distinct gym member profiles, and two non-gym member profiles, could be identified. / Badiriši ke karolo ye bohlokwa ya kgwebo gomme go kwešiša maitshwaro a bona, dihlokwa le dinyakwa go bapala karolo ye bohlokwa katlegong ya kgwebo efe le efe. Proyecto Healthy Mind / Project Healthy Mind

Espinoza Huincho, Rosa Estefany, Ladera Monrroy, Nicoll Alisson, Livia Alvarez, Valeria Lorena, Mozo Mescua, Evelyn Elisa, Tomas Dueñas, Karen Ivonne 02 December 2020 (has links)
At present, only one in teree Peruvians over 15 years of age performs some type of physical activity, this situation is alarming. It causes people to be prone to contracting chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, cancer, according to Alexandro Saco, director of Health Promotion of the Minsa. It should be noted that those who suffer from the aforementioned diseases are at risk by contracting covid-19. To the aforementioned, it is added that the constant exhalations due to effort during physical activity cause a more favorable environment for coronavirus infections within gyms. That is why the Peruvian Government was forced to close the gyms. However, in Peru, according to the latest IHRSA report (2019), there are 1,818 gyms and training centers, which are currently closed, affecting around 20,000 sports professionals. Based on this, “HEALTHY MIND” was born, a business idea from a group of students from the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences. This team analyzed the current situation and developed a service so that people can change their lifestyle from home and have no excuses for doing any physical activity. This project consists of providing various disciplines online, by registering you will be able to access live classes, class recordings, a blog with tips for leading a healthy life and will receive weekly control from personal trainers. / Trabajo de investigación
