La tesi se centra en l'estudi dels hàbits literaris dels adolescents (sociologia de la lectura) des d'una perspectiva educativa. Es tracta d'un estudi longitudinal que recull i analitza els llibres literaris llegits per 80 adolescents durant els seus primers cursos en l'Educació Secundària Obligatòria (l'estudi es va dur a terme a l'IES Manuel de Cabanyes de Vilanova i la Geltrú durant els cursos 2004/05, 2005/06 i 2006/07).La primera part del treball va dirigida a establir antecedents significatius sobre els resultats dels estudis que han indagat sobre els hàbits lectors dels joves i a delimitar la influència en aquests hàbits de l'entorn en què viuen i es relacionen els adolescents (entorn familiar i escolar). En aquest sentit, es presenten, en primer lloc, les investigacions i es descriu els lectors (aspectes sociobiogràfics), en segon lloc, el corpus y les pràctiques lectores, i, en tercer lloc, els diversos elements de l'entorn (família i escola) que influencien la pràctica lectora. En la segona part es presenten els resultats de la recerca empírica sobre els hàbits lectors literaris de la mostra de 80 adolescents quant a la quantitat de llibres que llegeixen, a la tipologia d'aquests textos i a la manera de valorar-los, y sobre els efectes que té un projecte escolar de foment de la lectura (extensió de la lectura) en aquests hàbits. / This dissertation focuses on adolescent reading habits (sociology of reading) of fiction from an educational perspective. The study collects and analyzes the fiction books read by 80 adolescents during their first three courses in the compulsory secondary education (the study was conducted at the IES Manuel de Cabanyes de Vilanova i la Geltrú courses during 2004/05, 2005/06 and 2006/07). The first part of the study offers a background of previous research on reading habits in young people and how these habits may have influenced the teenagers' environments (family and school). In this sense, the investigation describes the readers from socio-biographical perspective, analizes the books read by the teenagers and their reading practices elements, as well as how elements, such as family and school, influenced the reading practices. The second part presents empirical results of the research on fiction reading habits of the sample of 80 adolescents in terms of the number of books they read, the genre of these books and how the youngsters valued them, as well as the effects school project to promote reading (reading area) in these habits.
