Intelligent Headlamp Levelling : Thesis work at Scania CV AB

Palm Lamerstedt, Peder, Fingalsson, Christopher January 2023 (has links)
Illumination of the road environment plays an important role for the night-time vision of the driver and in general road safety. The purpose of this thesis is to develop a proof of concept that can measure the vertical angular displacement of a truck headlamp relative to the road. This was achieved by gathering customer needs and establishing a target specification. Two concepts were considered to have the potential to satisfy the target requirement values and were selected for further development, one based on accelerometers and the second based on an Inertial Measurement Unit. Prototypes were developed and built to test and evaluate the concept against the target values. Once a concept was chosen, a reference plane was introduced to complete the concept which enabled testing and simulations of a variety of scenarios that a truck faces when operating on roads. The final product is based on digital accelerometers controlled via a microcontroller. The result of the final testing and simulation shows that the developed concept can measure an angular displacement with a mean inaccuracy of ±0.051◦ regardless of the slope of the road. This inaccuracy corresponds to ∼ 14% of the required tolerance according to a proposed revision of the current UNECE-48 regulations, which gives a tolerance leeway of ∼ 86% for the rest of the control system.

Využitie tepelne vodivých nekovových materiálov pre chladiace systémy v automobilovej osvetľovacej technike / Use of thermally conductive non-metallic materials for cooling systems in automotive lighting technology

Zachar, Martin January 2020 (has links)
This thesis deals with the use of non-metallic highly thermally conductive materials, more concrete-ly special plastic materials, enriched with highly thermally conductive additives, for the purpose of passive cooling of a given heat source. The thesis compares the effectivity of these heat sinks with the classically used materials, specifically aluminium. The thesis is divided into two main sections, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with a constantly growing need of LED (Light Emitting Diode) chips cooling in automotive head-lamps, where the new materials could be put into effect, analyses possible replacement of classic aluminium heat sinks with different materials with a significantly lower thermal conductivity and introduces problems of such materials. The practical part applies the problematic described in the theoretical one on the actually produced heat sinks, which are compared among themselves, with regard to their method of production, as well as with aluminium counterpart in different conditions. Furthermore, the problematic of de-signing a heat sink made from material which is characteristic for its highly anisotropic thermal con-ductivity is dealt with. The end of the thesis shows the importance of heat dissipation via radiation, which can have a great significance in case of plastic heat sinks and in a specific applications.

Analýza vlivu tlumení na velikost odezvy při dynamickém buzení světlometu / Analysis of the effect of damping on the magnitude of the response during dynamic headlamp excitation

Lukáš, Jan January 2020 (has links)
The aim of the submitted diploma thesis is the magnitude determination of the headlamp response to the dynamic excitation. Currently it is necessary to measure this response, because it is one of the assessed criteria of quality of the headlamp. When comparing results of the experimental measurement and the computational modelling, a good consensus of resonant frequencies is observed, but there are significant differences in acceleration amplitudes. The cause of this is the variable damping value. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with polymeric materials, basics of oscillation and damping. It serves to understand the mechanisms, which influence the results of the experimental measurement. The practical part is dedicated to the procedure of the computational modelling and the experimental measurement implementation. The analysis of the experimental measurement results leads to an ascertainment of nonlinearities, which influence the headlamp behaviour. The results of a sensitivity analysis of the computational modelling are used to create curves, on the basis of which the damping is estimated. The inclusion of the estimated damping into computational modelling leads to reduction of the compared differences of the acceleration amplitudes. The conclusion of the thesis contains the recommendation for the damping determination during the computational modelling of the headlamp.

Simulace odmrazování krycího skla světlometu a jeho aplikace v automobilovém průmyslu / Simulation of headlight cover lens de-icing and its application in automotive industry

Magdon, Jan January 2021 (has links)

Optimalizace technologických parametrů vstřikování plastového dílce / Optimization of technological parameters of injection plastic parts

Hamáček, Richard January 2011 (has links)
This project is dealt with optimalization of moulding procedure of plastic housing of headlamp for project DCW 204 Mopf halogen. The aim is reach a shorter injection moulding cycle time with keeping of claim quality of plastic part. Optimalization will be done based on modification of moulding pressing time. We observe warpage in axis X in the most problematical points of housing by using of contactless measuring optical technologie ATOS III Triple Scan. Simulation analysis for injection moulding was used for prediction of housing warpage up to unforming in every chosen moulding pressing time. According to reaching data in this way comparison of predicted warpage was able to done up to unforming time and real warpage of housing after unforming. According to reaching data in a different period of time warpage of housing during time flowing was observed.
