This thesis is devoted to the topic of palliative care in nursing, particularly for the elderly. The theoretical part deals with basic issues of palliative care for the elderly, defines palliative care and its organizational forms,dealing with the basic principles of palliative care topics of gerontologic care. The attention is paid to the competencies of the nursing team to perform palliative care for geriatric patients as well. The research deals with finding out the level of workers' skills in the field of palliative care, and then it defines the forms ofhealthcare professionals aid in how to approach the matter of dying, and how to cope with the cause of clients death.

The thesis determines whether life in home for the elderly in fluence on stress factors and stress management of seniors. The theoretical part is devoted to the description of old age and their specific needs, changes in old age and elderly living. The second chapter is devoted to the general definiton of stress and its context, response to stress, psychosomatic dimension of stress. Charakterizes the stress factors, their categories and stress factors related to home for the elderly. The last area of the theoretical part contains the definition of coping strategies, ways of coping and the factors that affect it. The practical part contains a survey that aims to determine and compare stress factors and coping strategies of elderly people in their households and homes for the elderly. Partial goals were to describe the stress factors and coping strategie for all seniors and to find different by sex stress management seniors. And then describe what coping strategies used by all seniors. The data was used to determine coping strategies inventory (CSI). The study involved a total of 51 respondents, including 26 respondents were interviewed in their own households and 25 respondents in homes for the elderly.

Nowadays, we are facing the challenge of meeting the future needs of the elderly because our society has been ageing gradually which results in an increasing number of people reaching retirement age. This brings about many difficulties, one of which being inability to care for themselves in their own households. This situation leads to the fact that seniors decide to leave their own homes for Senior Homes. In this thesis, I deal with the reasons leading to that decision. In the theoretical part I focused on the issue of old age and aging, the changes occurring during this period and factors that may influence seniors´ decision to move to a Senior Home. The methodology of this thesis was based on a qualitative research strategy. To obtain the necessary information to the research, interrogation technique of a semi-structured interview was used. The objective was to find out the reasons that influence seniors´ decision to start living in a Senior Home. The research was carried out in the Senior Home in Humpolec. The outcomes of this thesis may increase public awareness of this issue.

The aim of the thesis is to create a business plan for the construction of a house for the elderly. The thesis consists of two sections, wherein the first one is dealing with the basic terms such as entrepreneurship and structure of a business plan. The second part of the thesis presents the specific business plan. This section describes in detail the intention of the plan and includes a thorough analysis of the surrounding environment. Subsequent marketing analyses forms the basis for creating the right marketing tools to reach clients. The following financial part forms an important basis for the evaluation of the investment into the presented business plan. The following part of the thesis consists of methods for assessing the return of the investment. In the final part of the Master´s thesis are mentioned project risks and there are also included possible measures to mitigate the intensity of their impact.

The dissertation focuses on the topic of fulfilment of selected quality standards for social services in care homes for the elderly. The theoretical part of the piece of work deals with defining the terms pertaining to the quality standards of social services in care homes for the elderly. These are the terms ?old age?, ?need?, ?care home for the elderly?, ?social services?, ?quality standards?, and ?client?. The aim of the dissertation was to map the fulfilment and realisation of selected quality standards in care homes for the elderly. Partial aims were to determine the extent of fulfilment of quality standards from the point of view of the client and to compare the individual levels of application of the quality standards for social services. Two care homes were chosen for the study, the Care Home for the Elderly Tep in Veselí nad Lužnicí and the Care Home for the Elderly in Horní Stropnice. Two hypotheses were established. Quantitative research was chosen to facilitate reaching the aims and verifying the hypotheses, utilising questioning methods, interviewing techniques and questionnaire enquiry. Furthermore, analysing the data was accomplished using secondary document analysis. The research file contained the clients and staff of both selected care homes for the elderly. Following the evaluation of the results I believe that the aims of the dissertation were fulfilled. Selected quality standards are realised well in both care homes for the elderly and the essential criteria of individual quality standards are fulfilled as well. In addition, the research study proved both hypotheses to be correct. Selected quality standards are fulfilled from the point of view of the clients and at the same time applied in accordance with their needs. The dissertation can provide the selected care homes for the elderly with feedback regarding the fulfilment and realisation of selected quality standards of social services. It can also equally serve as guidance for potential clients in choosing their social services provider.

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of ensuring personal stability in selected homes for the elderly, with special focus on the position of a social worker and a worker in social services. The aim of the work is to describe the process of human resources management and its tools aimed at ensuring personnel stability from the perspective of the organization's management. Related to this is the intention to map the causes of fluctuations, the obstacles of ensuring stability and the attitude of the founder to the issue. The work focuses on selected facilities established by the public and private entities. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with a comprehensive description of the home for the elderly service, including its staffing, i.e. mainly social workers and workers in social services, to make it clear how important it is to provide the service sufficiently with them. Furthermore, this part deals with management in the social field, the role of the manager and the human resources management falling within his competencies. Last but not least, the theoretical part deals with employee turnover and retention. The empirical part of the work presents the results that were obtained on the basis of qualitative research. The subject of my diploma thesis is the design of a new home for the elderly and the elaboration of the implementation project documentation. The intention is to build a house for the permanent housing of older persons, with the possibility of using care services. The building consists of 16 residential dwellings and 6 housing units with nursing services. Maximum occupancy is 32 guests. The home for the elderly also offers facilities for boarding, medical service, hairdressing and rehabilitation. The object is designed for barrier-free use. The object is set in a flat terrain on the selected land. The building has 4 above-ground floors and one underground. The building is designed as a brick made of lime sand blocks. The vertical perimeter structures are provided with a contact insulation system. The horizontal bearing structures are designed as monolithic reinforced concrete slabs. The roof structure of the building consists of a mansard roof structure. The drawing documentation was processed in a computer program AutoCAD.

Content of this master´s thesis work is a project of Home for the elderly in Čejč based on requests of the investor. The object is designed as a three storey house in Porotherm system with both flat and oblique roof. There are 31 apartments located in this object. A disposal study is elaborated and a part of executive project documentation of the building is being set in this work.

The subject of the diploma thesis is a home for the seniors in the village Nové Veselí. The building is designed on flat terrain. The main entrance is oriented to the north. It is a building with one basement and three floors. The building is designed of brickwork POROTHERM. Basement wall is made of reinforced concrete. The building is covered flat roof. House is designed for desabled persons.

The subject of this thesis is a design documentation for new construction of the elderly house in Austerlitz. The building has one underground and two or three floors. Designed capacity is 40 clients in the house. In addition to the accommodation of seniors also provides catering facility, motivational activities and other services connected with the activities of the senior home under the Act on Social Services. From a structural point of view it is an object of a wall brick supporting system, ceiling structures are made of panels of prestressed concrete. Roofs are designed flat single shell.
