Novotná, P. Influence of ISO 9001 certification on the company performance. Thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2018. Thesis deals with the influence evaluation of the quality system implementation on increasing company efficiency. It focuses on the analysis of its current state, management of the quality system and its administration. Aim of the thesis is to demonstrate the impact of ISO 9001 quality certification on the company financial and non-financial performance and identification of areas and indicators in which certification impacts are most expressed. For the solution was used an analysis of internal environment according to the 7S method, company self-assessment according to ISO 9004 and the methodology based on the principles of the EFQM model. Main finding is the underestimated impact of quality system implementation on company performance due to non-compliance with all requirements and principles of interconnected standard. Companies meet requirements of the standard primarily for purpose of meeting conditions for recertification audits and for entering into a business agreement with customers.

In this thesis I'm focusing on current world trends in the field of quality management in industrial production and services. Further I'm applying introduction of ISO standards in a concrete building company and I'm evaluating its efficiency. The thesis also offers a "manual" for introduction of ISO standards.

[pt] O objetivo da dissertação é propor um modelo de autoavaliação de desempenho de Centros de Difusão de Ciência, Educação e Cultura (CDCEC), na perspectiva da sustentabilidade e com base na Norma ABNT NBR ISO 9004:2010. Busca-se demonstrar que a ferramenta de autoavaliação proposta na Norma ABNT NBR ISO 9004:2010, se adaptada, pode ser utilizada de maneira efetiva para medir o nível de maturidade dos sistemas de gestão de CDCEC. A pesquisa pode ser considerada aplicada, descritiva e metodológica. Quanto aos meios de investigação, a metodologia compreende pesquisa bibliográfica e documental; construção do modelo de autoavaliação de desempenho de CDCEC em sustentabilidade; uso do método analítico hierárquico (AHP) para definição dos pesos dos elementos de avaliação; estudo de caso da FPCRJ para demonstração da aplicabilidade do modelo de autoavaliação; análise e interpretação e análise dos resultados da autoavaliação da FPCRJ; e formulação das conclusões da pesquisa e recomendações. Destaca-se como resultado principal um modelo inovador de autoavaliação de desempenho em sustentabilidade para CDCEC, compreendendo oito elementos-chave e 40 elementos detalhados. O estudo de caso da FPCRJ demonstrou ser viável determinar o nível de maturidade do sistema de gestão de um CDCEC, a partir de adaptações na ferramenta de autoavaliação definida na Norma ABNT NBR ISO 9004:2010. Permitiu ainda identificar oportunidades de melhoria que poderão ser objeto de ações por parte da alta liderança da Fundação, visando alcançar níveis superiores de sustentabilidade. / [en] The objective of this dissertation is to propose a self-assessment model for evaluating the sustainability performance of Centers for Diffusion of Science, Education and Culture (CDSEC), based on the Standard ABNT NBR ISO 9004:2010. The research seeks to demonstrate by a case study within the Fundação Planetário da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro (FPCRJ) that the self-assessment tool included in the in the referred standard (if adapted) can be effectively used for assessing management systems of CDSEC. This research can be considered applied, descriptive, and methodological. The methodology encompasses literature review and documentary research; development of a self-assessment model for evaluating organizational performance of CDSEC, from the perspective of corporate sustainability; application of the hierarchical analytical method to define the weights of the evaluation criteria; development of a case study within the FPCRJ for demonstrating the applicability of the purposed model; analysis and interpretation of the FPCRJ results; and formulation of conclusions and recommendations. The main result of this research is an innovative self-assessment model for evaluating performance of CDSEC, from the perspective of corporate sustainability, encompassing eight key elements and 40 detailed elements. Particularly, the results of the case study of the FPCRJ could demonstrate that the purposed model can be effectively used for assessing sustainability performance of CDSEC and allowed to identify improvement and innovation opportunities towards high performance of corporate sustainability.

La presente tesis aborda el caso de estudio del diagnóstico y modelado de los procesos de gestión del reactor nuclear argentino RA-6, relevando y aplicando los requisitos de los estándares de la International Atomic Energy Agency (2005, 2006, 2009, 2012) y el marco regulatorio nacional. Para realizar el diagnóstico y descripción de la situación actual de los procesos de gestión se aplicó el modelo de madurez de ISO 9004. Luego se relevaron y sistematizaron los requisitos de los estándares de seguridad y gestión correspondientes. Finalmente se modelizaron los procesos de gestión aplicando técnicas de Business Process Management, especificándolos de forma coherente e integral. Los resultados obtenidos son novedosos debido a los escasos antecedentes que se conocen y publicaron en bibliografía especializada. Y por otro lado, tienen fines prácticos ya que contribuyen a cumplimentar los requerimientos que la instalación tiene para la futura renovación de su licencia de operación. / The present thesis deals with the case study of the diagnosis and modeling of the processes of management of the Argentine nuclear reactor RA-6, relieving and applying the requirements of the standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency (2005, 2006, 2009, 2012) and the national regulatory framework. In order to carry out the diagnosis and description of the current situation of the management processes, the maturity model of ISO 9004 was applied. The requirements of the corresponding safety and management standards were then reviewed and systematized. Finally, the management processes were modeled applying Business Process Management techniques, specifying them in a coherent and integral system. The results obtained are novel due to the scarce antecedents that are known and published in specialized bibliography. And on the other hand, they have practical purposes as they contribute to fulfill the requirements that the installation has for the future renewal of its operating license.
