Couleau-Dupont, Annelise 10 May 2010 (has links) (PDF)

Lörenskog, Frida, Clysén, Jessica January 2005 (has links)

Since January 1st 2005, public companies within the European Union shall prepare their consolidated accounts in conformity with the international accounting standards. The adopted accounting standards are IASB’s IAS/IFRS completed with interpretations. Furthermore, member states may permit or require public companies to prepare their annual accounts according to IAS/IFRS. Sweden has not yet given companies the ability to use IAS/IFRS in the annual accounts due to taxation difficulties the strong relationship between accounting and taxation brings. The relationship between accounting and taxation can be divided into three different categories, material where the accounting regulations govern the taxation, conventional where specific taxation regulations affect the accounting, and no relation where the accounting and taxation regulations are separated.

The purpose with our thesis is to find out whether or not the relation be-tween accounting and taxation can remain when accounting standards get internationalized. The study has been divided in two perspectives, taxation and accounting perspective, to identify similarities and differences whether the relation between accounting and taxation can remain. To fulfill the purpose, six semi-standardized interviews where performed

The study showed that there are no noticeable differences between the tax and accounting perspective. All respondents except for Skatteverket believed that a disengagement between accounting and taxes where not preferable when implementing IAS/IFRS. The respondents believed that in the future Swedish generally accepted accounting principles should define the relation between accounting and taxation. The respondents have the opinion that Sweden should use article five in the regulation of the European parliament and of the council. However, the respondents argue for companies being divided by size and interests of internationalization rather than public or non-public.
/

What if IAS/IFRS were a Tax Base? New Empirical Evidence from an Austrian Perspective.

Eberhartinger, Eva, Klostermann, Margret January 2006 (has links) (PDF)
In particular in Germany and Austria, but also in other countries, extensive theoretical and analytical research has been published on the potential tax effects in case IAS/IFRS were used as the basis for corporate taxation. Very few quantitative papers exist. This motivated us to conduct a study that quantifies the actual effects of a potential decisiveness of IAS/IFRS for the national tax base - without further questioning the usefulness of an IAS/IFRS relevance. Our paper extends existing research substantially. The research question of our paper deals with the measurement of differences in discounted tax burden in different scenarios, by simulation. Our sample comprises original data of 61 Austrian companies. The median of the difference between book values of IAS/IFRS single accounts and tax accounts for specific balance sheet items is determined. We then apply the result on the items of a typical corporate account derived from an Austrian database. As a result, depending on the term of items, we can calculate the discounted tax effects for different scenarios. It must be underlined that such highly confidential and detailed tax data is usually not available to researchers. The main preliminary finding of our empirical survey is that only in few cases we find essential differences between IAS/IFRS and tax accounts. Our evidence suggests that no dramatic change in the tax base has to be expected. Our study provides not only new empirical evidence but also a basis for further research on a possible common consolidated corporate tax base from an academic perspective. Trpáková, Sabina January 2013 (has links)
The Diploma Thesis deals with didactic analysis of the curriculum on stocks and supplies in the subject of Accountancy in Business Academies. The goal of this work is to suggest the didactic analysis of the curriculum on stocks. The work consists of three parts: the theoretical part, the part of research and the design of the curriculum. The theoretical part starts firstly with the initial assumption of the subject Accountancy, educational programmes and then it continues with the teaching methods used in teaching about stocks and supplies. The second part focuses on evaluation of questionnaires intended for Accountancy teachers in Business Academies. The goal of the research is to find in what way the stocks and supplies are taught. The questions focus on students too, whether they are led to guess the impact of economic operations on the economy itself, if the impacts are noted in financial statements and if the students are taught about IAS/IFRS issues. The last part of the work contains the design of teaching about stocks itself in both first -- concentric circle and the second part. The interpretation of the curriculum is supplemented by accounting schemes, examples for practising and demonstrations of entries into pupils' registers. The chapter is finished by suggestion how to incorporate curriculum about International Financial Reporting Standards into Stocks and Supplies topic.
