There is no doubt the power that the people-of-saint has played in the trajectory of socio-political development in Bahia. This tradition power lies guarded, by the mother-of-saint, inside the Ilê Asé Ogum Omimkayê, Terreiro Candomblé of Ketu nation, located in an urban area in the brazilain northeast, in the neighborhood of Fazenda Grande III - Cajazeiras, Salvador-BA, composed mostly of women and where man has secondary role. This power is an inheritance from Iyá-mi ancestors, which was incorporated into the multifaceted personalities of Ialodê and Gueledé and that has been preserved in religious traditional communities, passing to inhabit the sacred sphere. In Ilê Asé Ogum Omimkayê, this power, singularly represented by the mother-of-saint, has a political connotation and refers basically to central figure of power, but in the singular it shatters into multiple fragments and is equivalent to influence that his daughters and sons-in-santo, during the process of initiation, have their share. In Candomblé, power relations are due to the religious structure of the terreiro and circulates among the members, taking into consideration the seniority of the tradition, the rank and the ancestral heritage of each member within the religion. In this axé house, articulation and empowerment of black, poor and elderly men and women through their understanding of the religious field enables then to undertake power relations overflowing the terreiro walls. Therefore, the power plots in Ile Asé Ogum Omimkayê, represented by the person of the mother-of-saint, far from being an inside power, runs between the spiritual and social world, in constant dialogue with the community that surrounds it and returning with legitimacy given by religious followers, the community where the religious community inserts and especially the dynamics of gender, race / ethnicity, class and generation that limited socio-political and religious relations in and out of the yard.
