It seeks to supply a conceptual frame that expresses the matters that permeated that processors investigation that embodies the research, the training and the intervention in a Project of Public Politics. In specifically of this work that it objectifies mantaining principles and indicators incorporation in Jaboticabal's Municipal district; they place at issue the relative themes to the maintaing's notion with a referencial for the construction of applicable indicators to the public administration. Under tha tfocus of considerations was organized this mastering dissertation work. The developed thematic run or flow over about the conceptual matters that they involve a referencial sustainable in the job area, the potential of utilization of the indicators and indices and the perspectives of the endogenous development in Brazil contemporary. / Este trabalho desenvolveu e buscou uma moldura conceitual que expressa as questões que permeam processo de investigação em Políticas Públicas. Em particular o trabalho objetivou a incorporação de princípios e indicadores de sustentabilidade para o município de Jaboticabal. Coloca-se em pauta os temas relativos à noção de sustentabilidade com um referencial para a construção de indicadores aplicáveis à gestão pública. As temáticas desenvolvidas discorrem sobre as questões conceituais que envolvem um referencial sustentável na área de emprego, o potencial de utilização dos indicadores e índices e as perspectivas do desenvolvimento endógeno no Brasil contemporâneo.

It can also bring positive results to the environment, society and economy. The concept of sustainability tries to incorporate these concerns. In order to be effectively applied it is necessary a change in the perception of the use of water, followed by the adoption of monitoring instruments. In this work, it was attempted to establish specific principles of sustainability which can be applied to the referred systems, according to the generic principles found in the literature. It was also proposed indicators to be used as monitoring instruments. These indicators were established based on a restrict selection assisted by some researchers in this area. Later it was made an enlarged selection from a shared process in the town of Jaboticabal (SP). Finally, the use of the selected indicators made in the town of Jaboticabal, allowed the identification of the problems and then there was the orientation to public policies for this sector. / Uma gestão adequada da água nos sistemas urbanos de abastecimento e esgotamento pode reduzir uma série de impactos negativos, além de trazer resultados positivos para o ambiente, a sociedade e a economia. O conceito de sustentabilidade procura incorporar estas preocupações. Para que ele possa ser efetivamente aplicado, é preciso uma mudança na percepção sobre o uso da água, acompanhada pela adoção de instrumentos de monitoramento. No presente trabalho, procurou-se estabelecer princípios específicos de sustentabilidade que possam ser aplicáveis aos referidos sis temas, de acordo com princípios genéricos presentes na literatura. Ainda foram propostos indicadores a serem utilizados como instrumentos de monitoramento, estabelecidos através de uma escolha restrita, com o auxílio de alguns pesquisadores da área, e num segundo momento, uma escolha ampliada a partir de um processo participativo no município de Jaboticabal (SP). Finalmente, a aplicação dos indicadores selecionados , realizada no município de Jaboticabal, permitiu a identificação dos problemas, e assim, a orientação de políticas públicas para o setor.
