<p>Priset för anläggningstransporter har under de senaste åtta åren ökat kraftigt. Dessa transporter är en stor och betydelsefull del för byggföretagen, och Skanska Sverige AB köper anläggningstransporter för cirka 1 miljard kronor per år. På grund av den kraftiga prisökningen samt att Skanska har sett stor potential av effektiviseringar inom anläggningstransporter har de startat projektet ”Effektivare Anläggningstransporter”. Ett mål med projektet var att minska kostnaderna för anläggningstransporter genom effektiviseringar. Detta arbete har genererat en kraftig sänkning av antalet leverantörer samt att enhetliga avtal med dessa leverantörer har tecknats. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att utveckla ett nationellt arbetssätt för att förbättra Skanskas samarbete med leverantörer av anläggningstransporter.</p><p>I byggbranschen ser alla projekt olika ut. Varje byggprojekt fungerar som ett eget litet företag vilket medför att byggbranschen är en decentraliserad bransch. Inom varje projekt finns det en produktionschef samt produktionspersonal. Det är produktionschefen som ansvarar för allt från ekonomi och tidsplanering till beställning av transporter och övrigt material. Idag sker alla beställningar av transporter via telefon och oftast samma dag som transporterna behövs eller i bästa fall dagen innan. Anpassning till ny teknik i transportbranschen sker långsamt och än idag är det oftast handskrivna följesedlar. För att hitta effektiviseringar har Skanska påbörjat ett effektiviseringsarbete med sina ramavtalsleverantörer. Detta innebär att Skanska ska ha utvecklingsmöten med dessa leverantörer två gånger per år för att diskutera fram effektiviseringsåtgärder.</p><p>Effektiviseringsarbetet har stannat av på grund av omorganisationer i Skanska samt den rådande lågkonjunkturen. Det är detta effektiviseringsarbete som ska utvärderas och förbättras i detta examensarbete. Denna studie genomfördes med hjälp av ett antal intervjuer där det framkom att största problemet var att det inte fanns någon ansvarig på lokal nivå för att driva effektiviseringsarbetet. Några andra problem som upptäcktes var att det inte fanns något uttalat mål med utvecklingsmötena samt att det inte fanns något mätbart uppföljningssystem som visade utvecklingen. För att lösa dessa problem studerades teori om organisationer och kultur, gruppdynamik, inköp, relationer samt prestationsmätning.</p><p>Alla är eniga om att effektiviseringsarbetet är viktigt och bör fortsätta men det krävs dock vissa förändringar. Genom bättre planering och bättre intern kommunikation kan samarbetet med Skanskas leverantörer förbättras. För att hitta effektiviseringsåtgärder bör utvecklingsmötena ha tydliga mål. Det krävs även en person på lokal nivå som ansvarar för att mötena blir av och att effektiviseringsidéer förs vidare till inköpsavdelningen. Det allra viktigaste är att inköpsavdelningen ska kunna mäta och följa upp effektiviseringsarbetet. Detta kommer att kunna ske med hjälp av den modell som presenteras i slutet av denna rapport. Modellen kommer att lösa de problem som denna studie har uppmärksammat och är konstruerad på ett sätt så att modellen är enkel att använda.</p>

This thesis presents a systems view of production, where production systems are compared and contrasted with other large and complex systems, commonly labeled System of Systems (SoS). The rationale for this approach lies in the evolution of production systems towards being holistic, sustainable, and agile; which increases the need for an improved understanding of both how internal system are interrelated, and how the production system interacts with its environment. In turn, this leads to an increase of complexity for the production system, which leads to new requirements on systems engineering.The definition of SoS is extensively discussed, and in this thesis formalized with regards to certain system characteristics that SoS exhibit. The presence of these characteristics is evaluated for three different levels of production systems to determine if they should be considered SoS. In the second part of the thesis, the SoS characteristics are addressed from an engineering point of view, i.e. if and how SoS properties are currently addressed in production systems engineering.Two main results are presented in this thesis: (1) production systems exhibit SoS characteristics; (2) SoS characteristics are not and cannot be addressed with current systems engineering methods. How SoS characteristics can be addressed is briefly discussed in the frame of reference.An additional purpose of this thesis is to initiate a new research area where production systems research and complex systems research are merged. / QC 20100624

International Marine Group, IMG AB, was established in year 2000, and became the parent company of the three sister companies, Momec AB, Isolamin AB and Premec AB. The IMG – group supplies complete marine/offshore interior accommodation and tailor-made system supplies to the Building/Industrial sector. With a starting point to develop IMG AB’s logistic and distribution the company has decided to survey the present logistic at their subsidiaries, mainly concentrated on the goods for delivery. The purpose is to allocate the processes inside the IMG – group which have direct develop potential. To be able to satisfy the new requirements on logistics in the future, IMG – group has presented a new proposal including a warehouse to consolidate gods for delivery. The warehouse would enable consolidation of all orders which are supposed to be delivered to the same destination. The purpose with this bachelor’s thesis is to serve as basis in a discussion about IMG AB’s future development. The future development will include a consolidation point for distribution and an automatic line for wall and ceiling panels. The methods which were used to obtain information for the thesis were: data-collection, litterature reviews, benchmarking and actual visits at the subsidiaries’ plants, Isolamin AB, Momec AB and Premec AB. The purpose is also to create a survey of the logistic flows inside the supply chain of the subsidiaries. The sister companies were also compared in a benchmarking with three different external companies. The purpose is also to appoint the requirements which are of most significance for the supply chain, with the aspect on consolidation. Momec AB is located in Bottnaryd and offer marine door sets in two different types, A and B. The location of Isolamin AB is Överkalix and the company is a supplier of products and customized solutions in the area of insulated panels for the Marine/Offshore and Building/Industrial sector. Premec AB is located in Dals Ed and manufacture prefabricated bathrooms for offshore-, shipping- and building industry world wide. Premec AB can supply already made (assembled) wet units for new buildings or flat packed (knock-down) units for refurbishment/renovation. All of the sister companies have potential for development in many areas inside their order to delivery process. There are also potential for development in the distribution and logistic aspects. The authors of this bachelor’s thesis consider the prerequisite to build the warehouse a reality is to have a well implemented ERP-system. It is also of significance that the exchange of information is fluent, that all sister companies have a high delivery precision and great coordination and organised systems. Further requirements are: to make the order to delivery process more efficient, to minimize the lead-time and to give the possibility to calculate the throughput time as an order is set. The warehouse and the subsidiaries, Isolamin AB, Momec AB and Premec AB, have both strengths and weaknesses. The authors of this bachelor’s thesis consider that the warehouse will open up for more possibilities in the future, but it will also include some threats to the IMG-group. If the proposal of a new warehouse and a new automatic line turns into reality a careful risk-management analysis should be done to minimize the risk in the investment. A comparison against a proposal with outsourcing to a Third Part Logistic – company, TPL-company, should be considered. A TPL-company might be more cost effective. The conclusion is that IMG –group’s project plans of a warehouse and an automatic line should be realised with the prerequisite that all the factors that today are considered to be a problem for the IMG – group are sorted out and that the ERP- System Jevees is fully implemented.
