Includes abstract. / Includes bibliographical references (p. 105-107). / My project is one of memorialisation, expressed as a creative process. A core theme throughout my work concerns the notions of absence and presence, as the project is founded on a personal loss and inspired by a desire to sustain the memories of my late brother. My investigation involves the exploration and preservation of the memories of my brother. The body of work manifests as the residue of my reflections on grief and memory that I have chosen to exhibit in a commemorative manner. In turn, my practice has functioned as a source of comfort in the course of my mourning.

Loin des Yeux Près du Corps est un projet d’installation sonore qui s’intéresse tout d’abord à la notion de décalage entre ma perception et ce que les écrits stipulent au sujet des impacts sur la santé de la pollution atmosphérique. Cette notion de décalage est présente dans plusieurs aspects du texte qui mettent en relation des éléments artistiques et théoriques, notamment en parlant de la différence entre traduction et transduction, du rapport entre l’humain et la machine et de la rencontre de tous ces éléments. L’installation en question prend forme à partir d’instruments de musiques réels ayant été modifiés afin de répondre à la mesure de niveaux de polluants. Quelques explorations « parenthèse » ont également contribué à faire avancer la réflexion autour du projet principal. / Loin des Yeux Près du Corps is an art installation project about the notion of gap between my personal perception of air pollution and what the science says about it. This notion is declined in many ways in this research, putting in relation artistic and theoretical elements, exploring the differences between translation and transduction, the relations between humans and machines and the connexions between all those elements. This installation is made from "real" musical instruments that have been modified to react to the air pollution levels. Some “parallel” explorations are also documented here, having contributed to nurture the main research.
