González Salinas, María Camila 30 December 2018 (has links)
The research seeks to lay the foundations of a hotel that, through the provision of single-person modules, will be able to meet the growing specialized demand of passengers in transit in Jorge Chávez International Airport. The business is based on the modality of not having to make a previous reservation to receive the service, since the client will be able to register autonomously at the moment of approaching the reception for which he will only have to enter his data. This is done with the aim of providing customers with a less stressful environment before traveling. The hotel has three floors, the first has divided areas for each activity, the second for rest and passenger hygiene where you can also rest and be distracted in the halls of the corridors, the third repeats everything of the second. It is worth mentioning that at the time of registration the customer will receive a bracelet, where they can consume the products, enter the capsule, open the locker on this bracelet, the amount consumed during the stay is charged. Each client is obliged to take a shower before entering the module to spend the night, which is why they will be given personal hygiene items such as bathrobe, towel, shampoo bag, espadrilles and soap. Among the services offered by the hotel, you will have the cafeteria, the dining room and the bar for 24 hours .. Being just seconds away from all international doors while offering all the amenities to work, relax, sleep and refresh will be the right thing to offer so that the traveler can reach their next destination in the best way. The study has been divided into 5 chapters namely: Description of the problematic reality; Investigative frameworks; Design strategies; Programming; Conclusions and contributions As a great conclusion it has come to indicate that the design of a lodging by modules not only responds to the prevailing tendency in the Hub of the World airports and that our contribution will serve to align the Jorge Chávez in that level; but also by force of demand its construction becomes very necessary. / Tesis

Airport noise in South Africa – Prediction models and their effect on land-use planning

Goldschagg, Paul 12 1900 (has links)
Thesis (DPhil (Geography and Environmental Studies))—University of Stellenbosch, 2007. / The use of average energy aircraft noise contours as the sole means for guiding aircraft noise-based planning around airports is being questioned increasingly. A growing proportion of residents who live in neighbourhoods adjacent to airports are dissatisfied with the averaging procedure that is employed. In their experience of exposure to aircraft noise, particularly in the evening and at night when they are at home, the average energy aircraft noise descriptors are misleading. In order to effectively analyse the socio-spatial interaction of annoyance at and interference by aircraft noise, an alternative approach has been suggested – a supplemental noise perspective. Conventional approaches to aircraft noise land use planning based on average energy noise descriptors run the risk of being ineffectual, or even counterproductive, because they do not consider the central aspects of disturbance, namely the loudness of an event and the number of times events are heard. Consequently, an alternative measure to ameliorate the limitations of average energy noise contours is needed by which airport neighbours, the aviation industry and town planners can better understand the nature of the problem. Although supplemental noise analysis is not new, this study applies it to a South African international airport (OR Tambo) for the first time. The airport’s operations are typical of many busy airports close to large urban areas, serving domestic, regional and international routes. Reportedly, there have been few complaints about noise emanating from the airport, but when they are made they are usually about evening and night-time aircraft noise events. In the context of South Africa as a developing society in transition, where growth of urban settlements continues apace, average energy aircraft noise information must be enhanced by providing supplemental noise information. This study investigated the broad issue of land use planning around airports by employing two aircraft noise prediction models, namely the Integrated Noise Model and the Transparent Noise Information Package, to establish the various potential effects and consequences of night-time aircraft noise in noise zones demarcated according to supplemental aircraft noise information. The effects and consequences examined include annoyance, disturbance of sleep, telephone conversations, watching television and work or study, and the likelihood that people will move away to escape night-time aircraft noise. The perceptions of residents living in neighbourhoods around the airport were surveyed and the responses analysed according to noise zones classified as supplemental noise information. The results show that the airport’s neighbours are annoyed by aircraft noise and that aircraft noise interferes with normal household activities. This annoyance and interference decreases with increasing distance from the airport. Furthermore, reported annoyance and interference is greater in those areas where higher numbers of noise events are encountered, even at relatively low noise levels of 60 LAmax – something not evident from average energy noise contours. This finding strengthens the argument that it is insufficient to provide only average energy aircraft noise information when studying the impact of aircraft noise. To understand the situation more fully, supplemental noise information is essential. The study concludes with a framework constructed to apply supplemental aircraft noise information to the abatement and mitigation measures normally used to deal with aircraft noise.

Unknown Date (has links)
Airports play a decisive role in the supply chain of aviation industry. As a gateway of one country, an international airport manifests a nation’s competitiveness through the service standard of its software and hardware facilities delivering to its external customers. Today, Internet has become a main media for people to pass on, to share and to acquire various pieces of information, which makes the official website of an international airport an important extending platform for the authority to conduct customer relationship management. Therefore, what an international airport website represents is not just the image of a certain airport, but also the facade of one country. Under this circumstance, how to meet the needs of external customers during their first reach of an airport website so as to increase their visit motivations has become a primary issue while webmasters designing webpages. In this study, the researcher chose English version websites of six international airports, including Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, to conduct content analysis and website usability. The result shows that there are no significant differences among tested websites; however, after collecting usability test scores, participants’ opinions, and reviewing key actors interview, this thesis concludes and would suggest Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to firstly improve the layout arrangement of flight information, retrieval method, and elevate the completeness of shop and dining information. Secondly, visual communicate interface, such as color, fonts, font size and so on, and content consistency among different language versions should be enhanced and an internal control mechanism, which aims at maintaining that consistency, should be built to utilize the user experience so as to advance the credibility of Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. On top of that, this study expects to raise the awareness of website usability among all government sectors, who are developing and promoting e-government policy, to also include website usability into the core concept of webpage design while pursuing administrative efficiency and quality of citizen services and, furthermore, to assist Government to conduct website evaluation in order to create a smooth and customized user experience.

It is a research where the airport becomes protagonist in the discussion of the re-signification of an area within a perspective of integration of the city and the region on the global markets of production and consumption. The main objective of the thesis is to analyze how the territory, covered by the new economic and industrial activities, turns into an airport-city and gains regional momentum, being able to constitute an Aerotropolis. It is assumed that the facilities of the International Airport of Viracopos-Campinas (VCP), can, possibly, be transformed into an airport-city and shape the surrounding region on an Aerotropolis; however, it will not serve the public interest in the urban requalification of the region, historically marked by inequality and socio-spatial segregation if it does not maintain and incorporate the resident population in the construction of Aerotropolis. This thesis is based on studies carried out on two international airports with a strong presence in airfreight transport in their countries (Netherlands and United States) to understand the city-region-production-networks-territory relationship on which the Aerotropolis territorial arrangement is based.

Recarga gerenciada do aqüífero do Aeroporto Internacional Governador André Franco Montoro, Guarulhos/SP: estudo piloto do sistema solo-aqüífero. / Managed aquifer recharge of the Governor André Franco Montoro International Airport, Guarulhos/SP: pilot study of soil-aquifer system.

Okpala, Walter Onyebuchi 15 February 2011 (has links)
The Governor André Franco Montoro International Airport, São Paulo, entirely depends on groundwater to meet its demand. However, excessive extraction practice which increase continuously in order to attend the demand of increasing number of passengers and the difficulty involved with natural recharge of its aquifer led the Federal Airport Administration Agency (Infraero) to search for other sources of water supply. Although the search for solution for water scarcity problem goes through managed aquifer recharge, lack of national experience in this area restricts decision making in adopting this practice in the country. Contributing to the technical feasibility studies of managed aquifer recharge in general and the Governor André Franco Montoro International Airport in particular, this research has the objective of verifying at the pilot scale level, the capacity of airport soil-aquifer in adequately treating wastewater generated locally. In order to reach this objective, an adequate location was selected within the alternatives evaluated for the construction of a pilot unit for aquifer recharge. Undeformed samples were collected from the unsaturated layer of the selected place, characterized and afterwards, recharged through special experimental columns with wastewater which was filtered in a controlled form. As the results of the first experimental phase were not adequately met, a decision was made to collect undeformed samples from a second location in the airport. The collection indicated the existence of deep unsaturated layer with the soil profile being similar to the profile of the soil layer from which the first samples were collected. The soil column tests were carried out with samples from both areas, indicating that superficial part of airport soil will be eliminated or substituted with a coarse sandy layer in order to permit a managed aquifer recharge which allows production of water that meets the quality of its required uses. Of the different scenarios verified in this research was infiltration of secondary wastewater produced at the airport through soil columns. Another was infiltration of wastewater after its pre-treatment by physicalchemical processes of coagulation/flocculation/sedimentation and still a third scenario, through pre-treatment of secondary effluent by ultrafiltration membrane. The results obtained are considered partial since the total aquifer depth was not used and the fact that academic restrictions limited excessively the time period of the research. However, considering this as a pioneer work, and the fact that it constitutes the first research about managed aquifer recharge in Brazil, and with it, bringing theoretical and practical contributions to support other similar studies which would be necessary in understanding and promoting managed aquifer recharge practice in Brazil.
