Previous issue date: 2018-02-15 / Purpose: To analyze if the mechanisms that lead Brazilians to donate
organizations (NGOs) are similar to those
other countries to have this behavior, in addition to a comparison between the factors
contextuals that seek to explain why some countries are more generous than others.
Methodology: Case study conducted from 25 interviews in
depth (a database of donors and non-donors of a Brazilian organization
large) submitted to content analysis and then to Fuzzy analysis
Qualitative Comparative Analysis.
Conclusion: There are differences between the mechanisms proposed in the literature and what was
observed in the interviewee. The presence of a trigger - an internal event or
important in the life of the individual - can be determinant for the donation to take place.
It was also verified that there is a negative perception about the performance of NGOs, their
role and importance in society and the image of an inefficient and corrupt government,
factors that may be associated with the country's low performance in the global ranking of
Philanthropy.
Originality: Contribute to the extension and validity of studies carried out
developed countries, insofar as the theories
donors from a country in the Southern Hemisphere, with an average HDI and
a culture of unrestrained giving. In addition, contributing to the construction of a
theoretical framework on donation in Brazil and generate knowledge about Brazilian donors,
in order to support professionals working in non-governmental
observado no entrevistado.

Our study looks at how multinational corporations use and manage the international mobility of their employees. More specifically, we sought to determine to which extent multinationals consider their international management strategy in deciding how to use the expatriation managed through international mobility programs. Although the main purpose of our research is to observe the influence of the international management strategy on these programs, we also sought to identify other characteristics of each firm and its environment that may influence them. Our study, conducted among HR professionals responsible for management of international mobility, intended, in a first step, to identify the type of international management strategy favored by firms and the approach to international management of human resources they lead to. In a second step, we sought to identify the type of international mobility program in place in each firm from the analysis of their components (HR policies and practices). We drew two main conclusions of our study. First, international mobility, especially expatriation, is still an important tool for growth and survival of multinational corporations. Second, multinational corporations use expatriation differently depending on their strategic objectives and manage it very pragmatically, taking into account a variety of factors including the number of expatriates, the managerial culture of the company, the characteristics of their industry, their experience and difficulties encountered during the journey.

Previous issue date: 2015-06-11 / This research aimed to construct a theoretical model for the company s internationalization with the intervention of organizing consultants. It was conducted through a qualitative research with unstructured interviews applied to nine business leaders who internationalized their companies using the consultant s support. It was found that the consulting firms, for the companies included in this study, had strong decision power on the alternatives adopted by its customers, enabling a new insight into the conditions of internationalization processes, studied mostly under the light of the firm s structural characteristics and their market forces. This study should be relevant to explain the participation of consulting companies in a framework that supports the study of business internationalization phenomenon with potential contributions, both in the theoretical and practical field. For scholars and teachers can contribute to a better understanding of business internationalization process, incorporating new factors considered in the characterization of this process. For researchers can help in creating larger models representing the business internationalization phenomenon, increasing the level of explanation of the phenomenon by introducing variables directly related to consulting activity. In addition, for business owners and general managers may indicate the need to create strategies to monitor interests and incorporate alignment elements of the consulting activities within international projects - or other types of projects that resemble them - in order to increase the adherence of alternatives offered to the interests of their own organizations.
