Esteller Moré, Eduard 23 April 2001 (has links)
Maintaining the functioning of the airways of intubated, tracheotomised patients in intensive care may lead to complications and lesions which, in certain cases, may condition the patient's future. Not only should we focus on saving the patient's life, we should also strive to return him/her to a quality of social and profesional life as similar as posible to what it was like prior to admisión.The present thesis is a prospective observational study of patients sujected to such instrumental procedures for a period of 48 hours or over, built around a protocol consensuated by the ENT and Intensive Care Departments.
