No caso do Partido do Bem-Estar, a ênfase na moral, nos problemas socioeconômicos e na oposição ao Ocidente convergia com a percepção de parte expressiva da audiência (o eleitorado religioso, a opinião pública desfavorável ao Ocidente e grande contingente de pobres do meio urbano e das localidades onde o partido tinha forte presença assistencialista). Entretanto, o formato de partido islamista radical que sobreveio depois de sua ascensão ao poder não teve a aprovação de parte da audiência essencial para sua governabilidade, a saber, a oposição secularista. No caso do Partido da Virtude, o partido conseguiu assegurar o apoio de um contingente menor mas ainda expressivo do eleitorado, mas também não conseguiu ganhar a audiência secular. Apenas o Partido da Justiça e do Desenvolvimento, ao atingir uma agenda de equilíbrio, com o reforço das tendências positivas de seus antecessores (como a defesa da democracia e do projeto europeu) e a correção de suas falhas (com a volta de uma agenda conservadora, para garantir a audiência religiosa; de uma retórica de justiça social, para atrair o eleitorado pobre urbano; e o distanciamento de uma identidade islamista, para neutralizar a oposição secular), conseguiu o feito de garantir o apoio de uma proporção surpreendentemente ampla da audiência e assegurar o lugar definitivo do islã político no centro da cena política do país. / The present study analysis the rise of the islamist movement in the Republic of Turkey from the assumption that the ideational factors (values, beliefs and ideas) mobilized by the three main islamist parties played a major role for its ascention to power. The Welfare Party's agenda with emphasis in molarity, opposition to the West and socioeconomic problems was congruent with the perception of part of the audience (the religious electorate, the public opinion opposed to the West and the urban poor resident in urban areas and in the locations supplied by the party's strong assistential network). However, the radical Islamist format displayed after the party came to power led to the reaction of the secularist establishment, and the party was closed. The Virtue Party, the new islamist party created after the closure of the WP, managed to secure the support of a smaller but still significant parcel of the electorate, but also failed to win the secular audience and was equally closed. Only the Party of Justice and Development achieved a balanced agenda, through the strengthening of the positive aspects of its predecessors (such as the defense of democracy and the ascension to European Union) and the correction of their faults (by the adoption of a conservative agenda to maintain the religious electorate; the resource to a rhetoric of social justice, to attract the urban poor; and the distance from an islamist identity, to neutralize the secular opposition), enabling it to achieve an impressive vote score and to ensure the definitive place of political Islam at the center of the political scene in Turkey.
