Vorliegender Streifzug rückt vier Textpassagen israelischer Künstler in den Blick und gewährt einen Einblick in den Nukleus israelischer Popularkultur, die Musik. Die ausgewählten Texte enthalten Ideologien, Gegenentwürfe, Wünsche, Warnungen und Ängste der Autoren. In einem zweiten Schritt wird deren subjektiver Umgang mit diesen Phänomenen herausgearbeitet. Erst durch die Kontextualisierung der Passagen werden die Liedinhalte als abstrahierbar und kollektiv relevant erkannt. Hierbei spielt die Auseinandersetzung um das Militär eine besondere Rolle. / This foray focusses on four songtexts by Israeli artists, while popular music is seen as the nucleus of popular culture. In the chosen texts ideologies, alternatives, wishes, warnings and anguishes of their writers can be identified, while their subjective examination of those phenomena is made clear in a second step. The last step analyzes the verses in their context. The songs can now be recognized as being of collective relevance, because problems around the military play an outstanding role here.

Research Report submitted for the partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in Migration African School of Migration and Society (ACMS) University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg 2018 / This research report examines the everyday effects of Israeli policies and state practices (relating to rights to live in the city) on the lives of Palestinians in Jerusalem. It engages with state policy and practice across three main scales; the larger scale level of rights to the city itself, the closer-to-home scale of bureaucratic threats against the family home, as well as the micro-scale questions of the everyday. In this report I examine empirical evidence – a case study of a house demolition, and ethnographic material from a Palestinian neighbourhood targeted for settlement projects - alongside the policy data that relates to each of these instances- including policy on land-zoning, tenancy, residency and social security. I argue that the cumulative effect of these policies and practices create the unstable conditions, which I refer to as a ‘coercive environment’, which works to indirectly displace Palestinians from Jerusalem. This report shows that the daily uncertainties that Palestinians experience as a result of these policies intensify the precarious conditions of everyday life, and further finds uncertainty as one of the multiple forms of violence present in the coercive environment. Themes including everyday anxiety, security and fear, punishment and criminalization, procedural bare life and emotional violence, arise from the empirical data observed and collected, and are examined for how they create uncertainty and form part of this coercive environment. / XL2019

L'un des points sur lesquels les présidents des deux partis politiques ont convenu, c'est que d'un rôle américain en faveur de la paix israélo-arabe est compatible avec les intérêts nationaux américains.Nous fournissons une étude détaillée de la politique américaine à l'égard du conflit israélo-arabe de la crise qui a abouti à la guerre de Juin 1967 jusqu'à la signature du traité de paix en 1979 à Camp DavidElle évalue l'approche initiale de chaque administration pour le problème de la paix, ainsi que l'évolution de la politique comme il a affronté les réalités tenaces de la région et les champs de mines de la controverse politique intérieure. / All US presidents since Lyndon Johnson became deeply involved in the diplomacy surrounding the Arab-Israeli conflict.In view of the complexity of the challenge, US policy has shown remarkable consistency and surprising success. Egypt and Israel are at peace with each other and are both close friends of the United States.More recently, other Arab parties began to negotiate with Israel under US auspices. One of the points on which the presidents of both political parties agreed was that of an American role for the Arab-Israeli peace is consistent with US national interests.We provide a detailed study of American policy toward the Arab-Israeli conflict from the June 1967 war to the peace treaty of Camp David in 1979 .It assesses the initial approach of each administration to the problem of peace, and the evolution of politics as it faced the tough realities of the region and the minefield of domestic political controversy.Suggérer une modification
