This thesis deals with the concept of freedom in the education of J. A. Comenius. The aim is to answer the question: How does Comenius understand freedom in education? The work briefly introduces Comenius's life and the time he lived in. Further, the concepts of didactics, education and philosophy of education are clarified. An analysis of selected pedagogical-didactic and philosophical-theological works is carried out with regard to the topic of work. Further, there are included the views of comeniologists, especially Jan Patočka. The conclusion of the thesis is the answer to the concept of freedom in education of Comenius on the basis of previous analysis and studies of secondary literature.

Svarbią vietą asmenybės ugdymo procese užima orumas. Reformacijos sensualistinėje J.A. Komenskio pedagogikoje orumas siejamas su dievotumu ir veikimu tam tikroje socialinėje-kultūrinėje erdvėje. Šiuolaikinės visuomenės socialinių ir kultūrinių vertybių transformacija keičia orumo dimensijas. Darbo tikslas atskleisti J.A. Komenskio orumo ugdymo procesą ir orumo transformacijas šiuolaikinėje visuomenėje. Siekiant minėto tikslo keliami uždaviniai: atskleisti orumo sampratą teologiniame, filosofiniame ir edukologiniame kontekste; aptarti J.A. Komenskio orumo ugdymo koncepciją ; išryškinti orumo transformacijos ypatumus šiuolaikinėje visuomenėje; apibūdinti šiuolaikinio jaunimo požiūrį į orumą. Tyrimo metodologijai pasitelkta krikščioniška personalistinė filosofija, atskleidžianti žmogaus buvimo būdus bei tarpusavio ryšius; vertybių filosofijos teiginiai, išryškinantys metafizinį gėrio pradmenį, kuris įtvirtina žmogaus vientisumo bei nuolatinio tapsmo idėją ir integralaus ugdymo būtinumą. Kiekybiniame tyrime dalyvavo 60 Romos katalikų ir evangelikų reformatų bei nekonfesiniai 16-18 metų jaunuoliai. Tyrimo hipotezė, kad šiuolaikinės visuomenės socialinių ir kultūrinių vertybių transformacija keičia orumo dimensijas pasitvirtino. [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / Dignity plays a major role in the process of personality’s upbringing and edification. The sensualistic pedagogy of the Reformation outlined by J. A. Comenius relates dignity to godliness and action (operation) in a certain social-cultural area. The transformation of modern society’s social and cultural values impacts and changes the dimensions of personal dignity. The aim of this paper is to show the process of the upbringing of person’s dignity according to J. A. Comenius as well as disclose the transformations of dignity in today’s society. The aim is achieved in several ways: by revealing the concept of dignity in different contexts – such as theological, philosophical and educological; by reviewing the concept of the upbringing of dignity introduced by J. A. Comenius; by emphasizing the peculiarities of dignity transformations in today’s society; by defining the attitude of today’s youth concerning the issue of dignity. The methodology of the research has been based on Christian personalistic philosophy that outlines the ways of persons being and interpersonal relationships; the statements of the philosophy of values that emphasize the metaphysic principle of the good that lays firm foundation for personality’s wholeness, the idea of constant becoming (transformation), and the necessity of integral upbringing. The main aim of the Diploma Theses is to prepare, verify in practice and evaluate museum educational programme for pupils from 12 to 18 (junior schools and secondary schools) which is devoted to the changes in schooling in 20th century. The aim is to introduce to pupils historical facts by the means of three educational programmes and interactive elements in the exhibition. Pupils work with topics covering World War II, 50s and so called normalization period. Throughout the educational process they will use period realia from the above mentioned periods, such as schoolbooks, educational boards and educational aids from the collection of Comenius National Pedagogical Museum and Library in Prague. MASTER THESIS TITLE: Didactic principles of John Amos Comenius and their application in today's teaching of German language AUTHOR: Stanislava Černá DEPARTMENT: Department of Germanics SUPERVISOR: PaedDr. Dagmar Švermová This master thesis is focused on the personality of meaningful Czech thinker J. A. Comenius and his didactical principles, many of which are nowadays still relevant. The most emphasized principles are activity, motivation and student's perception with the use of all senses. The last mentioned principle can be ensured by the activity-oriented teaching; student can be motivated and exacerbated by problem-oriented or project teaching. Theoretical part of the thesis is dedicated to the definition of principles, understanding of the activity principle before and today, its use in the foreign language teaching and the definition of aims and key competencies. Following practical part describes realization of two projects where was validated that inclusion of projects into German language teaching is suitable motivating and exacerbating means in case the aims and methods are selected appropriately. Diploma thesis Philosophy in the work of John Amos Comenius is focused on demarcation main points in the work of John Amos Comenius, great thinker, philosopher, pedagogic and theologic authority. I deal with philosophy and with influences of most important people, atmosphere of 17th century, significant finding and inventions and his live on his work. Comenius was great thinker of education and pedagogue in praxis and metodology. This is another part of my work, I focused on education in praxis and of course his work in books. I mention ODO - Opera didactica omnia, huge work of pedagogic metodology and Obecná porada o nápravě věcí lidských - his masterpiece. This work have to unify his work in one big complex. Than I am trying to compare it with our today reality and find similar problems in our school and education proces.

The master thesis analyzes a development of Czech-Dutch relations from the first contacts in the Middle Ages till the present. The thesis is divided into chapters chronologically but the emphasis is placed on the 20th century also because of the number of sources. Bilateral relations of these two actors of the international relations are examined on the political, economic and cultural level. The master thesis is based first of all on the archival sources of the Ministry of Foreign Affaires of the Czech Republic and it is the first overview which is given on the mutual Czech-Dutch relations according to the three above mentioned levels.

This diploma thesis was written in cooperation with the National Pedagogical Museum and Library of J. A. Comenius in Prague. It deals with the vast area of instructive pictures and especially with their potential use in teaching elementary school pupils science, mainly in the second year of elementary schools. The diploma thesis seeks to determine the significance of the instructive picture in its historical perspective, to state whether even nowadays the instructive picture is still a valid teaching aid in teaching of sciences in the educational process. The first, theoretical part of the thesis, the basic concepts concerning the instructive picture, didactic means and the so important psychological approach to perception of pictorial materials are determined. A considerable part of the thesis focuses on the historical development of the school instructive picture in general and on its development in sciences in particular. Also included is a thorough study of the teaching process with the use of rare instructive pictures in the past and the current aims of teaching sciences at present are presented.
