We seek to investigate the decisive stages of this form of judgment through a historical approach, which enabled us to identify who are the authorities responsible for the enrollment of prospective jurors and what were the criteria used in accordance with pertinent legislation. Thus, we understand the problems faced since the early nineteenth century, when this system of justice administration in Brazil was implanted. Based on these indicators, we can depict the steps of the current dynamics of organization of the list of jurors as well as evaluating the participation of citizens through the data present in the years following the jury’s reform with the implementation of the law 11. 689/08. / Na presente pesquisa analisamos a forma pela qual o Tribunal do Júri seleciona pessoas para atuar como jurados no Brasil. Buscamos investigar as etapas decisivas desta forma de julgamento através de uma abordagem histórica, o que nos possibilitou identificar quem são as autoridades responsáveis pelo alistamento dos possíveis jurados e quais foram os critérios utilizados segundo as legislações pertinentes. Desta forma, compreendemos os problemas enfrentados desde o início do século XIX em que houve a implantação desse sistema de administração de justiça no Brasil. Com base; nesses indicadores, podemos retratar as etapas da atual dinâmica de organização da lista de jurados bem como avaliar a participação dos cidadãos através dos dados presentes nos anos posteriores à Reforma do Júri com a aplicação da Lei 11. 689/08.
