Consequences of voluntary job changes in Germany: A multilevel analysis for 1985-2013Latzke, Markus, Kattenbach, Ralph, Schneidhofer, Thomas, Schramm, Florian, Mayrhofer, Wolfgang 03 February 2016 (has links) (PDF)
Analyzing the development of the consequences of voluntary job changes in Germany between 1985 and 2013, the study focuses on income gains and job satisfaction increases. Drawing on arguments of the job-search literature on the one hand and the proliferation of choices on the other we investigate whether the returns of job changes have increased or decreased. Results show that income gains have decreased over time while the job satisfaction surplus has remained stable. We further conclude that in determining the outcomes of job changes over time, structural factors seem to be more important than individual ones.

Evaluating the Relationships Between Job Satisfaction, Expressive Language, and Psychological Flexibility: Correlating the Valued Living Questionnaire, Job Satisfaction Survey, and the PEAK-T Expressive Language Pre-AssessmentVaughn, Amanda Lynn 01 May 2019 (has links)
ABA has demonstrated utility with a number of populations. One population that has had limited research devoted toward them is neurotypical adults. While there is much research on job satisfaction and what causes employees to be unhappy (mostly miscommunication), there is little research that explores what can be done to change the lack of satisfaction in the workplace. Through surveys designed to assess a variety of participants’ levels of expressive language and psychological flexibility, this study aims to determine if there are statistically signification relationships between expressive language abilities, psychological flexibility, and job satisfaction. This study found that there are statistically significant, positive correlations between job satisfaction, relational responding rates, and psychological flexibility. Additionally, this study explores potential treatment and trainings to combat employee dissatisfaction in the workplace.

Role stress, individual cultural orientation, perceived organisational support and job satisfaction.Solarsh, Jenna Leigh 09 July 2012 (has links)
Research has revealed that job-related stress impacts on psychological and
psychosomatic functioning with detriments to both individual and organisational level
outcomes (Beehr, Jex, Stacy & Murray, 2000; Cooper, Kirkcaldy & Brown, 1994;
Johnson & Cooper, 2003). As a result stress research has typically been associated
with destructive consequences for the individual and organisation, thus highlighting
the need to explore variables which may alleviate workplace stressors. This study
aims to explore the potential moderating effects of individual cultural orientation and
perceived organisational support on the relationship between role stressors (role
conflict) and job satisfaction. One hundred and fifty-two men and women, employed
by South African organisations, completed the multidimensional role conflict
questionnaire, the horizontal and vertical individualism and collectivism scale, the
survey of perceived organisational support and the job satisfaction survey. Results
revealed that horizontal individualism interacting with person role conflict and
intersender conflict had inverse moderating effects on job satisfaction, while
perceived organisational support interacting with intersender and intrasender conflict
had positive moderating effects on job satisfaction. Findings further indicated that a
collectivist cultural orientation and perceived organisational support were related to
increases in job satisfaction. Practical implications of the study and directions for
future research are discussed.

The role of leader-member-exchange in mediating the relationship between work locus of control and job satisfaction.Ntsebeza, Castro 19 May 2011 (has links)
The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between work locus of control, the quality of exchanges between subordinates and leaders (leader-member exchange) and job satisfaction. The research design of this study was a non-experimental, cross-sectional mediator design. A biographical questionnaire was used to ascertain the demographic information for the participants. Work locus of control was assessed using Spector’s (1988) work locus of control measure. Leader Member exchange was measured utilizing the member form of the leader member exchange scale LMX7. Job satisfaction of the employees was measured using The Warr 15-item Job Satisfaction Scale (JSS). The sample consisted of 115 employees from all levels of the organisation with the exception of members in top management. The sampling strategy that was utilised was non-probability sampling in which participants were recruited on the basis of their willingness to participate in the study. The study used correlations and regression analyses to analyse the data. The results of this study indicated that work locus of control had an inverse relationship with job satisfaction and leader member exchange. Mediation regression analysis indicated that leader member exchange partially mediated the relationship between work locus of control and job satisfaction. In view of the findings of this study, it is suggested that researchers on industrial relations could focus on ways in which South African organisations could improve employee-manager relations through the management of employee work locus of control, leader-member exchanges and workplace factors that contribute to employee job satisfaction

Psychological well-being, job satisfaction, and organisational commitment among employees in BotswanaBaruti, Thuso Tsalona January 2017 (has links)
“A research report submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the Degree of MA by
coursework and Research Report in the field of Organisational Psychology in the Faculty of
Humanities, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, 26 May 2017” / The aim of the study was to investigate associations of employee psychological well-being, job satisfaction, psychological well-being and organisational commitment among public service employees in Botswana. The study was cross-sectional in nature. A total of 138 participants were recruited but only the responses of 129 participants were used in the final analysis after excluding the responses of 9 participants due to missing data. Of the 129 participants, there were 73 female participants and 55 male participants. The participants were recruited from Gaborone, Botswana and they voluntarily participated in the study. The instruments that were used to collect data were the General Health Questionnaire 12 (GHQ-12), the Overall Job Satisfaction Scale, and the Organisational Commitment Scale. Data were analysed using Pearson‟s Product-Moment correlation, simple regression and chi-square test of association. The results of the study showed that significant relationships were between psychological well-being and job satisfaction, and between job satisfaction and organisational commitment. Additionally, psychological well-being significantly predicted job satisfaction but not organisational commitment. Directions for future studies could focus on investigating the intricate relationships between the variables to assess their impact on employee and organisational performance, and to guide the utilisation of wellness programmes in the workplace. / MT2018
