Analyse biomécanique de l'appui sportif : contributions méthodologiques et application au saut en kungfu wushu / Biomechanics of sports stances : methodological contributions and application to jumps in wushu

Benouaich, Léo 08 June 2015 (has links)
Sports biomechanics aims at better understanding performance mechanisms, to improve them while limiting injury risk. At elite level, stances are a key aspect of performance. Often used in gait analysis, inverse dynamics enables quantification of mechanical actions during motion. However, there are some limits to this method, two of which can become important when studying sports stances: soft tissue artifact and accuracy of dynamic wrenches. The first objective of this work is to propose methodological adaptations for inverse dynamics analysis of sports stances. Firstly, the benefit of the “mean joint centers” method, based on the use of rigid clusters, is shown for segment kinematics acquisition. Secondly, the influences of the sampling frequency and the differentiation method on the calculation of accelerations are evaluated. Thirdly, the validation of a personalized volumetric model enabling better estimation of segment inertial parameters than common proportional models is presented. The second objective of this work is the application of the methods proposed to the analysis of the ankle joint mechanical behavior during plyometric jumps, and to personalized evaluation of the lower limb injury risk in elite wushu athletes. These analyses have been performed in parallel to specific measures of athletes' characteristics, such as the ankle range of motion and the shear modulii of different structures of the triceps surae, using shear wave elastography. Perspectives for training application will be discussed, to address the evolution of training habits and personalized injury prevention.

Analysis of Metal Plate Connected Wood Truss Assemblies under Out-of-Plane Loads

Mohamadzadeh, Milad 19 August 2014 (has links)
In 2012, falls from elevation in construction industry represented 36% of the total fatalities. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration requires workers to use fall protection systems where workers are 6 feet or more above a lower level. Anchors for fall protection systems attached to roof trusses may cause out-of-plane loading on these structures. Metal plate connected wood trusses (MPCWT) are not designed to carry out-of-plane loads and MPCWT performance under these loads are not evaluated in the design process. The goal of this research is to model and analyze MPCWT assemblies under out-of-plane loads. The rotational stiffness of truss-wall connections, and truss bracing elements are included in the structural component model. Previous experimental data of fall arrest anchor loading were used for model validation. A parametric study considering loading location, joint stiffness and dimension of trusses was conducted. The structural analog of the MPCWT assemblies were found to have first truss deflections within 4% difference, thereby the models were validated. From parametric study results, the load location was not changed the ultimate deflection in the truss assembly by maximum value of 9%. Out-of-plane joint stiffness was the parameter that caused a large difference in the deflection results, when the joists were assumed as either rigid or simple connections. The rotational stiffness of lateral and diagonal bracing should be included as model inputs for the accurate representation of experimental behavior. Truss lengths increased the deflection at the top chord of the first truss in the assembly as truss width increased. / Master of Science

Efeito do comprimento do parafuso e da rigidez da união no limite de fadiga de uniões parafusadas / The Effect of bolt length and of joint stiffness in the fatigue limit of bolted joints

Silva, Marcio Erick Gomes da 16 August 2013 (has links)
The design of a bolted joint shall consider several factors such as material and heat treatment of the bolt (defined by the class of the bolt), stiffness of the parts being assembled (stiffness of the union), dimensions of the bolt, among others. In our study we used bolts M6x1, class 8.8, with three different lengths: 40 mm, 60 mm and 80 mm. The purpose of this study is to verify the relationship between the length of the bolt and the fatigue limit of the bolted joints, subjected to fluctuating cyclic loading of tension. The results indicated that the greater the length of the bolt, the larger the fatigue limit. An analytical study was also evaluated on the relationship between the cyclic stress amplitude and the mean stress experienced by the bolts with 40 mm of length. The results were compared with the bolt fatigue diagram of the BURGUETE and PATTERSON (1995). Correction factors were proposed for the relationship between cyclic stress amplitude. The adapted model from LEHNHOFF and WISTEHUFF (1996) for M6 bolts was the one whose results were the closest to estimated.

Studie styčníků rámových ocelových konstrukcí / Study of joints of frame steel structures

Cikánek, Ondřej January 2017 (has links)
Master's thesis „Study of joints of frame steel structures“ examine certain analysis types of frame steal joints, which are analysed both by component method and by specialized software IDEA RS. Obtained results are compared by both methods, in terms of load-bearing capacity and in terms of stiffness. Theoretical joints stiffness calculation according to standard ČSN EN 1993-1-8 is included in the introductory part of the thesis. In the second part, joints are designed to bear inner forces and moments, which were created by load combination effects and then analysed.
