The newspapers of our analysis are representative in the scope of the divergences between the speeches‟ production in the international‟s spheres, national and local that even accent the interpretation of the regionalization. The analysis was developed from the readings of Gadamer (2008, 2009) and Ricoeur (2008) as theoretician- methodology of of interpretation, translation and understanding. The election of articles was carried out by sampling, for the access to newspapers‟ site in the Internet and some printed units. We characterized types of ideas and/or representations on the Amazon region. The sociological look for the hermeneutic theories carried out a reading of critical understanding to recover questions and to excite new looks of analysis of crystallized ideas, in national and global level. The analysis elucidate that the predominant vision of the Amazon is a nature matter. The concept and/or representation of nature are represented in different expressions. From the types created there, we confer that Amazon is situated in an ample context and of tensions in which the interpretations on the region reveal views, representations and ideas about a place to be explored in several aspects. / Esta pesquisa é um ensaio de reflexão hermenêutica a partir da leitura de artigos dos jornais Folha de São Paulo e O Estadão , onde identificamos os discursos que projetam uma visão da região amazônica. Os jornais de nossa análise são representativos no âmbito das divergências entre a produção dos discursos nas esferas internacional, nacional e local que acentuam ainda a interpretação das regionalizações. A análise foi desenvolvida a partir das leituras de Gadamer (2008, 2009) e Ricoeur (2008) como aporte téorico-metodológico de interpretação, tradução e compreensão. A seleção dos artigos foi realizada pelo acesso ao sítio dos jornais na internet e em alguns exemplares impressos. Caracterizamos tipologias de ideias e/ou representações sobre a região amazônica. O olhar sociológico pelas teorias hermenêuticas realizou uma leitura de compreensão crítica para reaver questões e suscitar novos olhares de análise de ideias cristalizadas, em nível nacional e global. A análise dá conta que a visão predominante sobre a Amazônia é enquanto natureza. O conceito e/ou representação de natureza é representada em diferentes expressões. A partir de tipologias aí criadas, conferimos que Amazônia é situada em um contexto amplo e de tensões no qual as interpretações sobre a região desvelam visões, representações e ideias de um lugar ainda a ser explorado em vários sentidos.
