Diálogos entre saberes do senso comum e da ciência na consulta de enfermagem / Dialogues between common sense and knowledge of science in query nursing

Esse estudo trata-se de uma dissertação de Mestrado do Programa de Pós Graduação da Faculdade de Enfermagem da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Essa pesquisa tem como objeto A relação entre saber científico e senso comum na consulta de enfermagem. O objetivo geral deste estudo é Refletir acerca da presença e possíveis articulações entre o saber científico e o senso comum nas consultas de enfermagem da Policlínica Piquet Carneiro. Como objetivos específicos temos: Compreender a percepção dos enfermeiros da Policlínica Piquet Carneiro acerca da consulta de enfermagem; Identificar a presença do saber científico e do senso comum nas consultas de enfermagem da Policlínica Piquet Carneiro e Identificar possíveis articulações entre o saber científico e o senso comum nas consultas de enfermagem da Policlíclinica Piquet Carneiro. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo descritivo que utilizou como abordagem metodológica a hermenêutica dialética. O cenário do estudo foi a Policlínica Piquet Carneiro e os sujeitos foram doze enfermeiros que realizam consulta de enfermagem na Policlínica em diversas áreas. Todos os participantes autorizaram a coleta de dados mediante a assinatura do termo de consentimento livre e esclarecido. A coleta de dados foi realizada através de observações livres e entrevistas. As entrevistas foram transcritas e analisadas utilizando a lógica de compreensão da hermenêutica dialética. A partir dos resultados foi possível selecionar quatro categorias de análise de dados. A consulta de enfermagem na percepção dos enfermeiros e enquanto espaço educativo, Sentidos do senso comum, A expressão do saber científico na consulta de enfermagem e Articulações possíveis entre o senso comum e o saber científico na consulta de enfermagem. Diante de tudo o que foi explicitado nesse estudo conclui-se que a articulação entre saberes é possível e pode acontecer quando estamos dispostos a reconhecer o valor e a sabedoria presente nos saberes populares. / This study deals with a Master's thesis of the Post Graduate School of Nursing at the State University of Rio de January. This research aims "The relationship between scientific knowledge and common sense in nursing consultation. " The aim of this study is "Thinking about the presence and possible connections between knowledge scientific and common sense in clinical nursing at the Polyclinic Piquet Carneiro. Specific objectives are: "Understanding the nurses' perception of the Polyclinic about Piquet Carneiro nursing consultation, "" Identifying the presence of scientific knowledge and common sense in clinical nursing at the Polyclinic Piquet Carneiro and "Identify possible connections between scientific knowledge and sense common in clinical nursing Policlíclinica Piquet Carneiro. " Before everything was explained that study concluded that the relationship between knowledge is possible and can happen when we are willing to recognize the value and wisdom present in popular knowledge.

Scientific Epistemological Beliefs, Perceptions Of Constructivist Learning Environment And Attitude Towards Science As Determinants Of Students Approaches To Learning

The purpose of this study was to investigate scientific epistemological beliefs, perceptions of constructivist learning environment, attitude towards science, prior knowledge and gender as determinants of students&rsquo / approaches to learning. This study was carried out in 2005-2006 Spring Semester. One thousand, one hundred and fifty two eighth grade students from seven public schools in &Ccedil / ankaya, a district of Ankara participated in this study. Epistemological Beliefs Questionnaire, Constructivist Learning Environment Scale, Learning Approaches Questionnaire and Attitude towards Science Scale were administered to students in order to determine their scientific epistemological beliefs, their perceptions of constructivist learning environments, approaches to learning and attitudes towards science respectively. Descriptive statistics were used in order to explore the general characteristics of the sample. Paired samples t-test was used in order to evaluate the mean difference iv between the scales of the actual and preferred learning environments. Pearson Correlation Analyses and Multiple Regression Analyses were conducted to see the relationships among the variables and the variables that contribute to students&rsquo / meaningful and rote learning approaches. Results of the paired samples t-test showed that the actual learning environments of the students did not adapt their preferences. In fact, students preferred more constructivist learning environments where they have more opportunity to relate science with the real world, communicate in the classroom, take role in the decision making process of what will go on in the lesson to be more beneficial for them, question what is going on in the lesson freely and experience the formulation of scientific knowledge. Pearson correlation analyses, however, showed that students who had meaningful learning orientations had tentative views of scientific epistemological beliefs, positive attitudes towards science, high prior knowledge and perceived their learning environments as constructivist. On the other hand, students who had rote learning approaches had fixed views of scientific epistemological beliefs, positive attitudes towards science and low prior knowledge. In addition, the rote learners perceived their environments as constructivist in all scales except shared control scale. Multiple Regression Analyses by using actual learning environment showed that attitude towards science is the best predictor of both meaningful and rote learning approaches.

Investigation Of The Preservice Science Teachers

The aim of this study is to investigate the views of preservice science teachers on nature of science (NOS). A total of 166 preservice science teachers participated in the study. A 21-item &ldquo / Views on Science-Technology-Society (VOSTS)&rdquo / instrument, translated and adapted into Turkish, were utilized to assess participants&rsquo / views on the nature of science. The VOSTS (Aikenhead, Ryan and Fleming, 1989) is a pool of 114 empirically developed multiple-choice items with nine categories. In this study, 21 item selected from the epistemology of science category corresponded to the purposes of the assessment. In order to understand participants&rsquo / views on nature of science in depth, semi-structured interviews were also conducted by 9 volunteer preservice science teachers. The results gave a picture of the preservice science teachers&rsquo / views on nature of science. Results of this study revealed preservice science teachers&rsquo / misconceptions on nature of science. Their views are mostly traditional on the nature of science. Results of the study indicated that preservice science teachers held traditional views (naive) regarding the definition of science / the nature of scientific models / the relationships between hypotheses, theories, and laws / fundamental assumptions for all science / the scientific method / uncertainty in scientific knowledge / epistemological status of scientific knowledge / coherence of concepts across disciplines. On the other hand participants have contemporary views (realistic) on the nature of observation / the nature of classification schemes / the tentativeness of scientific knowledge / cause and effect relationship. Analysis of interviews also supported these findings and gave a deep insight on preservice science teachers&rsquo / views on nature of science.

Understanding local and scientific knowledge about flooding adaptations in low-lying areas of Central Vietnam

This research focuses on clarifying the local and scientific knowledge about flooding adaptations, the interaction between local knowledge and scientific information in the low-lying area of Central Vietnam is analyzed. Data was obtained using three techniques including: semi-structured interviews, direct observation and household surveys. Responses indicate that the villagers have accumulated and inherited this type of knowledge in their society for a long time. The level of local knowledge is affected by gender, occupation and house location. This implies that the villagers’ social roles and their everyday interactions with the natural environment have nurtured an accumulated local knowledge. Scientific information is provided by the National Committee for Flood and Storm Control and National Center for Hydrometeorology Prediction. It contains information regarding disaster type, intensity, risk level and directions. The information is transferred to local people through mass media, social networks and official documents. However, local people are credulous toward scientific information given by the state. It was found that many villagers are not likely to follow the official guideline, especially the villagers with a high level of local knowledge. / Nghiên cứu tập trung làm rõ kiến thức bản địa và khoa học về thích ứng lũ lụt cũng như mối tương tác của chúng ở vùng trũng thấp miền Trung Việt Nam. Dữ liệu được thu thập bằng cách sử dụng kết hợp ba phương pháp bao gồm phỏng vấn bán cấu trúc, quan sát trực tiếp và khảo sát hộ gia đình. Các kết quả nghiên cứu chỉ ra rằng người dân đã tích lũy và kế thừa kiến thức bản địa từ xã hội của họ trong một thời gian dài. Mức độ kiến thức bản địa bị ảnh hưởng bởi giới tính, nghề nghiệp và vị trí nhà ở. Vai trò xã hội và những tương tác hàng ngày của người dân với môi trường tự nhiên đã nuôi dưỡng và tích lũy kiến thức bản địa. Thông tin khoa học được cung cấp bởi Ủy ban Phòng chống lụt bão Quốc gia và Trung tâm Dự báo Khí tượng Thủy văn Quốc gia. Các thông tin về loại thiên tai, cường độ, mức độ rủi ro và hướng chỉ dẫn được thông báo. Thông tin này được chuyển đến người dân thông qua các phương tiện thông tin đại chúng, mạng xã hội và các văn bản chính thức. Tuy nhiên, người dân địa phương chủ quan trước những thông tin khoa học do cơ quan nhà nước đưa ra. Nhiều người dân không tuân theo các hướng dẫn chính thức của chính quyền địa phương, đặc biệt là những người có mức độ kiến thức bản địa được đánh giá cao.
