IT-baserat utbildningssystem för dialyspersonal : en användarcentrerad förstudie / IT based educational system for dialysis staff : a user-centered exploratory study

Jonsson, Filippa January 2010 (has links)

The dialysis ward at Karolinska University Hospital is a highly pressurized work environment filled with critical treatment situations where patient’s lives can be constantly in danger. Staff have to deal with a myriad of alarms and error codes in response to their patients varying ailments. The workforce at the dialysis ward lack controlled environment training, sufficient to address all of the potential treatment scenarios, with no risk of jeopardizing the patient’s condition. The purpose of this essay is to design and test the efficacy of using an IT based device for dialysis education at Karolinska University Hospital. The main topics this essay intends to address are:

• Identification of user scenarios and training fields.

• Prioritization of key training areas.

• Utilization of IT in effective staff training.

• Design of a conceptual prototype.

The process focuses on the user and their needs. Selected methods within training needs analysis and user centered system design have been conducted throughout the process. This includes user and task analysis to map the activity, followed by workshops and a close relationship between developer and end-users to create conceptual prototypes and user scenarios. The research concludes that there is a need for a training device able to simulate real dialysis treatments. It shows that training routines are more important than to train the actual physical handling of the dialysis machine. The preferred training device is a medium advanced simulator used via a computer screen. This report is written in Swedish.

The sidetable that became podium for identity

Dahlgren, Amanda January 2016 (has links)
In my senior project I work with the unseen furniture: the side table. The name, Quadro, is a combination of the italian word quattro that means four and the latin word ”quadratum” or ”quadratus.” After conducting an analysis of different side tables, I concluded that the side table's function is primarily to elevate other artifacts. I draw connections to the creation of identity through consumption and have created a sidetble through combining furniture design and conceptual design. The project was finalized with a survey to see if identity is visible through the selection of artifacts.

Exterior ballistics analysis for rocket propelled KE-penetrator - A conceptual simulation study within fluid mechanics and flight mechanics / Ytterballistik för raketdriven KE-pil – En konceptuell studie inom strömnings- och flygmekanik

Wegberg, Emil January 2022 (has links)
This study has investigated the conceptual feasibility of a rocket propelled kinetic energy penetrator (KEP), designed for the handheld recoilless rifle Carl-Gustaf® 84 mm calibre system, from an exterior ballistics perspective. The methodology is based upon evaluating the aerodynamic properties of different conceptual design proposals through CFD-simulations and then performing trajectory analysis to assess their exterior ballistic performance. In particular, the main focus has been to optimize the stability, velocity and spin rate of the KEP. The results of the study indicates that the final chosen KEP design retains, from an aerodynamic perspective, longitudinal stability for Mach numbers up to 4.5, regardless if the rocket motor is ignited or not. Furthermore, if using NK1384 propellant, the final chosen design in the study is, according to the calculations, able to achieve a maximum velocity of 0.7⋅v_ref and retain a minimum velocity of 0.628⋅v_ref in the horizontal range of [0.318⋅x_ref,0.648⋅x_ref] measured from the shooter. In addition, the angular spin velocity achieves a maximum value of 15.5 Hz, satisfying the performance limitation of the rocket motor which only functions properly for frequencies up to 30 Hz, while simultaneously providing a sufficiently considered spin rate in order to average possible thrust and mass deviations of the KEP. The results also show that if using ammonium dinitramide (ADN) propellant, the KEP is able to achieve a maximum velocity of 0.786⋅v_ref, retain a minimum velocity of 0.628⋅v_ref in the horizontal range of [0.28⋅x_ref,0.98⋅x_ref] and achieve a maximum spin rate of 17.5 Hz.
