En kvalitativ undersökning av hur kontorschefer på fastighetsmäklarkontor motiverar sina fastighetsmäklare / A qualitative study of how managers at real estate firms motivate real estate agents

The purpose of the following essay is to research how managers of real estate agencies work to motivate their real estate agents. The question of formulation is: How do managers work to motivate their real estate agents? The foundation of this study lays on the data from five interviews with five managers from different real estate firms of Malmö and Växjö. The authors have studied the leaders way of manage their organizations and their daily used methods to increase their employees level of motivation and how the leaders work to drive their organizations forward. The result shows that commission pay was from all leaders considered to be a well motivating factor for the real estate agents, commission pay gives the natural incentive and aims to inspire the real estate agents to the belief that hard work gets rewarded. Furthermore, the essay goes deeper in the analysis of motivation, leadership and in what specific ways different rewarding systems are used to create a stimulating and developing environment for their employees.The mangers had a strong belief that it has the be consensus between the company and the employee regarding basic principles in order to develop a long-term relation. The study also shows that there is clear a link between management and leaders way of working and their employees attitude, level of motivation and willing to work. All leaders agreed on and were firm that they lack the possibility to offer employees further opportunities and career steps, there are ways to advance within the industry, but not the ones that they believe are the best fitting.
