Narativní způsoby současných českých debutů / Narrative Modes in Contemporary Czech Debuts

Eder, Kryštof January 2020 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to analyse nine contemporary Czech debuts that were published during the 2010s and that were written by authors who were born in the 1980s or in the late 1970s. Based on the thematic analysis and analysis of narrative modes the debuts are compared mutually and placed widely in the context of the contemporary Czech prose. Published reviews of the analysed debuts are considered in this thesis too. Not only because these reviews are almost only available secondary literature related to the theme, the aim of this thesis is also to analyse literary critical context, and how it was shaped by the reviews. Debuts that are analysed in the thesis are (in the order of publish date): Pálenka by Matěj Hořava, Spoušť by Sára Vybíralová, Do tmy by Anna Bolavá, Anežka by Viktorie Hanišová, Augustin Zimmermann by Zuzana Kultánová, Stvoření by Eugen Liška, jr., Malinka by Dita Táborská, Do vnitrozemí by Vladimíra Valová, Lapači prachu by Lucie Faulerová.

Foucaultova filosofie svobody / Foucault's Philosophy of Freedom

Petříček, Jan January 2019 (has links)
In this thesis, we interrogate the possibility of freedom presupposed by the project of philosophical critique developed by late Foucault, which aims both at analysis of historical a priori conditions and at disruption of our present a priori. The first chapter shows that this critical project can be traced back to Foucault's early works. Moreover, Foucault tackled the problem of freedom in every phase of his work and he kept proposing the same solution, namely, that the spaces of freedom are opened up by ruptures emerging within the system governing a given period. Next, different concepts of freedom present in Foucault's texts are distinguished. On this basis, it is possible to restate the question of critic's freedom, which we now define as the problem of articulation between the ontological freedom, the reflective freedom and the freedom of transformation. The second chapter is devoted to Foucault's archaeological period. First, we show how the conception presented in The Order of the Things leads to aporias regarding the question of freedom. Next, we describe the theoretical transformations carried out in The Archaeology of Knowledge and examine whether Foucault succeeded in eliminating the earlier difficulties. However, this later solution also turns out to be unsatisfactory, because it falls...

Život a dílo Jiřího Weila po roce 1939 / Jiří Weil's Life and Work after 1939

Hříbková, Hana January 2019 (has links)
The dissertation summarises the life and work of renowned Czech Jewish writer, translator, journalist and scientist Jiří Weil (1900-1959) in the reference period 1939-1959. It presents the results of research conducted in more than twenty, both domestic and foreign archives (Literary Archive of the Museum of National Literature, Security Services Archive, National Archive, Archive of the Jewish Museum in Prague, Beroun Archive, Central Military Archive, Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History and others), accompanied by the accounts of selected eyewitnesses, placing events in a narrower historical context and presenting the life and work of Jiří Weil from a hitherto unknown perspective. Based on surviving archival material, Jiří Weil is presented not only as a hitherto well-known prosaist, but also as a translator of Polish and Hebrew, a poet, playwright, scientist and editor of a world-famous non-literary work that became the inspiration for other artistic transpositions (e.g. a play, film), Dětské kresby na zastávce k smrti 1942-1945 (Children's Drawings and Poems. Terezín 1942-1945). Brief analyses of the writer's selected published works, written and published in the reference period from 1939 to 1959, as well as unpublished works not yet known to the public, are also examined in a...

Hudební recenze jako součást masové kultury / Music reviews as part of mass culture

Poštulková, Michaela January 2010 (has links)
The status of contemporary Czech music reviews (also the Czech cultural criticism) ties in with mass culture and trends of postmodern thinking supports. Subjective journalist genres type reviews and critics look like the relevant expert testing about artistic performance, their real aim is economic profitability and fixing a position in their discourse domain. Mass culture can not offer an alternative to itselfa nd that's the reason, why central dichotomy variation - scheme is applicable not only to its products (music CDs, theatrical performances, a new book at he art), but also on the way, which is about these products further talks . Subjective meta - review has a the specific positron in the mass media.

Kritika pozitivismu ve společenských vědách / Critique of positivism in social sciences

Janas, Martin January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to present a critique of positivism in social sciences. The first chapter is devoted to a presentation of what positivism is. We also learn that positivism is closely related to neopositivism and that in many definitons of these words, the word "metaphysics" appears. Second chapter is devoted to Peter Winch's book The idea of a social science and its relation to philosophy. Analysis of this book is presented and we are shown many dangers of positivistic approach regarding the investigation of society. A concept of understanding a society is introduced, which is based on understanding given society's rules. Third chapter presents philosophy of sicence from Martin Heidegger. First, the notion of "metaphysics" is explained. Then we move onto the explanation of the meaing of science and technology in modern society. At the end of the thesis, we are presented with a short comparison of Winch's and Heidegger's philosophy. Conclusion includes new possible routes that sociology could take.

Představy správného umění a jejich vývoj v době přicházející abstrakce v USA / The concepts of the right art and their development in the time of coming abstraction in the USA

Váňová, Veronika January 2014 (has links)
The question of the existence of the right art has been solved by many theorists and artists themselves. The first half of the twentieth century was affected by the coming world wars, Nazism and socialism. The establishment of avant-garde was associated with it and new movements tried to confront such society. Along with avant-garde artistic critics appeared, those who more or less influenced artists themselves. Theories of Friedrich Nietzsche, Theodor Adorno, Jean Francois Lyotard, Clement Greenberg and Leo Steinberg are different, but are also consistent with the fundamental thing. That is the desire for a change and accuracy of art. The first two authors think that the right art was already there, but it was destroyed. Others are looking into present and future. In the shadow of modern technologies they try to find something that will be unique and original. These thoughts come to the imagination of unrepresent-able things and abstraction. Abstract Expressionism is a movement, which was originally established in the thirties in the USA. Along with it, the art center moved from Paris to New York. Abstract Expressionists were divided into two groups. One of them, artists such as Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning, has been called action painters. The second group, in which Barnett Newman and...

Sukob političkog i ličnog u Šekspirovim istorijskim dramama

Kostić Milena 21 December 2013 (has links)

Tajemství ženy a šelmy: rétoricko-narativní analýza Zjevení 17:1 - 18 / The Mystery of the Woman and the Beast: Rhetorical-Narrative Analysis of Revelation 17:1 - 18

Schejbal, Michal January 2018 (has links)
The Mystery of the Woman and the Beast Rhetorical-Narrative Analysis of Revelation 17:1-18 This diploma thesis called "The Mystery of the Woman and the Beast" seeks to unveil the mysterious message of Revelation 17:1-18 by applying the rhetorical-narrative analysis to the text. This analysis entails a specific methodology drawn from the synthesis of both rhetorical and narrative criticism with special regard to persuasive features. The conception of the thesis is based on understanding the message of the text in its own right communicated primarily to its own implicit audience distancing itself from premature theologizing often done especially when dealing with the book of Revelation. Due to the narrative focus of the thesis, considerable space is devoted to analyzing apocalyptic literary tradition and literary aspects of the book itself. Attention is paid to the origin of the apocalyptic tradition as well as the nature of its genre together with its specific motifs and function. The book of Revelation is seen as a part of long-developing apocalyptic tradition sharing some common traits while still being original in its own right. The unique qualities of Revelation are then fully explored in the following chapter. Of particular importance are the genre, imagery, intertextuality, and structure of the book....

Pohled na Písmo a hermeneutická východiska pro jeho výklad v různých křesťanských tradicích / The Scripture and Hermeneutical Solutions for its Interpretation in Various Christian Traditions

Holeka, Matouš January 2021 (has links)
Matouš Holeka's dissertation examines various interpretation methods of the Scriptures by theologians in the Roman-Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant traditions. These interpretation methods can be most clearly identified in the relationship between the Scriptures and tradition, in historical-critical methodology, and in political-cultural readings of the biblical texts. In this dissertation, these themes are shown as representing different ways of common critical reading of the sacred texts. As well as the historical-critical approach, there are also pre-critical and ideological readings. The dissertation starts by looking at this diversity in documents of the World Council of Churches. It shows that the differences in understanding the Scriptures are no longer connected primarily to the specific views of the respective traditions, but rather that similarities or differences in readings across churches. Christians within these traditions refer to their own sources: in the case of the Roman-Catholics to Church documents, in the case of the Orthodox to the Church Fathers and as far as Protestants are concerned, to the Confessions. However, their reception in each of these traditions only confirms the diversity of readings. This is also true for the theological interpretation of the Scriptures, which...

Translatologická témata na stránkách časopisu Slovo a slovesnost v dobovém společenském a kulturním kontextu po r. 1945 / Translation Studies in Slovo a Slovesnost afrter 1945

Voříšková, Eliška January 2015 (has links)
The purpose of this paper was to overview the appearance of translation themes in the Czech linguistic periodical Slovo a slovesnost (Language and Literature), from 1948 to 1989, and confront those themes with the social and cultural background of the epoch. Realization of this purpose required a meticulous selection of translation themed articles from all published articles in selected years in this periodical and their further examination. The review of social and cultural context is based on additional literature, primarily on translation theory and translation history, partially on general linguistics or history. As a result of this research, content and period importance of 113 translation articles in the periodical Slovo a slovesnost were described. 41 of them include the theme of translation theory, 33 of translation criticism and 45 of machine translation. This paper offers complete overview of translation articles published on the pages of one of the most important Czech linguistic periodical, describes their meaning and together with the theoretical chapters makes a synoptic picture of translation themes that were treated on the Czech territory in years 1948-1989.
