Neste estudo, tratamos exclusivamente do Avá-Canoeiro do Tocantins, variedade diatópica do Avá-Canoeiro falada ao norte de Goiás. No capítulo 1 aprofundamos a descrição da fonologia desta língua à luz de dados da variedade mais conservadora, isto é, de dados dos falantes remanescentes do contato. No capítulo 2 tratamos de aspectos da morfissintaxe do Avá-Canoeiro do Tocantins, como as diferenças entre nomes e verbos, argumentos e predicados. Descrevemos também a morfologia dos modos verbais indicativo I, indicativo II, Imperativo e Gerúndio, bem como a morfologia flexional – flexão pessoal, casual e relacional. No capítulo 3 tratamos de aspectos da sintaxe do Avá-Canoeiro do Tocantins, enfocando a diferenciação entre argumentos sintáticos e argumentos marcados no núcleo do predicado, buscando descrever como esta língua expressa as categorias de pivô semântico, tópico e foco. / The present dissertation describes aspects of the fonology, morphosyntax and syntax of Avá-Canoeiro, a language which belongs to the Tupí-Guaraní family, Tupi stock. We have focused exclusively on the variety Avá-Canoeiro do Tocantins, which is spoken in the north of Goiás state. In chapter 1, we present the description of the most conservative phonology of Avá Canoeiro do Tocantins. In chapter 2, we focus on the Avá-Canoeiro do Tocantins morphosyntax, showing the differences between nouns and verbs, arguments and predicates, as well as the main morphological features differentiating indicative I, indicative II, imperative and gerund moodes. We also describe personal, casual and relational inflection . In chapter 3 we describe certain aspects of the syntax of the Avá-Canoeiro do Tocantins, highlighting the difference between syntactic arguments, and arguments marked on the predicate core, seeking to describe how this language expresses semantic pivot, topic and focus categories.
