Parques agrários no baixo Jaguaribe = arquitetura rural da região dos perímetros irrigados resultante do planejamento de bacias hidrográficas / Agrarian park on lower Jaguaribe : rural architecture in the region of irrigated perimeters resulting from watersheds planning

Braga, Luci Merhy Martins, 1959- 18 August 2018 (has links)
Orientador: André Munhoz de Argollo Ferrão / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Engenharia Civil, Arquitetura e Urbanismo / Abstract: Human interventions confer throughout history personality and typical characteristics in several regions. In Ceará, the region of the irrigated areas of low Jaguaribe is a good example of the interaction that takes place in the landscape, mainly by human disturbances - which reveals a mastery over nature - and by the landscapes when associated to the historic value of the place. This interaction results in a cultural landscape with relevant asset value marking man's work over territory. This research presents a case where the social and economic development of a region alters the landscape of the place and it is supported by sustainable processes based on appropriate management plan for water resources and advanced technology in irrigation and agricultural production. The irrigated fruit growing in the lower Jaguaribe area, in Brazil Ceara state northeastern is the resulting agent and at the same time induces the processes and the technical-scientific advances in engineering and architecture, creating wealth and important associated agribusiness assets. Considering possible associations with the introduction of irrigated fruit growing in the lower Jaguaribe area, the research was made under the focus of Rural Architecture, based on the Process Oriented Research Method, which approaches cultural and regional productive processes. The present work establishes a comparison between the irrigated areas of low Jaguaribe (and region that it includes) with the lower Llobregat Agrarian Park, located in the urban fringe of Barcelona, Spain, recognized as a model of regional development, revitalization on agricultural potential, where, through an intelligent management, it is possible to maintain the rural heritage and also promote local tourism. It appears that in the low Jaguaribe area the land management reflects the coevolution of the context generated by the use of high technology and simple and traditional production processes. Therefore, the choice of this region did not occur randomly, but by the great intervention that the integration of all its processes are generating over the dry landscape, turning "the place of dry" in a place of irrigated fruit production / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-18T10:55:41Z (GMT).

Koncepční nástroje územního plánování a jejich specifika ve zvláště chráněných územích Šumavy / Conceptual tools of spatial planning and its specifics in specially protected areas in Šumava

Komárek, Matěj January 2020 (has links)
Conceptual tools of spatial planning and its specifics in specially protected areas in Šumava The thesis concerns with the relation between nature and landscape protection and spatial planning in Šumava. In Šumava we find Czech biggest national park and the whole area is protected with some other territorial protection tools of landscape and nature. Simultaneously we find in Šumava a large number of villages some of them located in the most strictly protected areas. In 2017 an amendment to the act no. 114/1992 Coll., on nature and landscape protection, was approved. The thesis was created at the turn of 2019 and 2020 when some territorial protection tools, such as quiet zones in national park, national park management plans and national parks zoning systems were redefined based on the 2017 amendment. This amendment has changed significantly the protection tools of landscape and nature and strengthen its role in the national parks. The mayors of municipalities were outright against the amendment and argued that as a result of this amendment the development of the villages would be limited. The thesis concerns with specifics of conceptual tools of spatial planning in Šumava, i. e. how the villages are limited in its territorial development by the existence of specially protected areas, also...

Impacts of adjacent land use on Blue Ridge Parkway costs

Galea, A. Stephen January 1980 (has links)
Impacts from urban development on the cost of providing recreation services on the Blue Ridge Parkway were modeled using cross-sectional linear regression techniques. Twelve Parkway segments and corresponding adjacent counties provided the study sample. Total and per visit annual costs were expressed as a function of segment variables and external variables representing adjacent county development. No correlation between operating cost and external variables was found. Total operating costs are positively correlated with visitor center capacity and camp and picnic sites. Cost per visit is positively correlated with the presence of concessions and recreation acreage, and negatively correlated with the number of camp and picnic sites, suggesting economies of scale. Non-operating costs in developed and undeveloped sections were compared. Costs associated with access control, land acquisition, and landscape screening, were higher in areas with a greater percentage of private ownership. / Master of Science

Artificial intelligence based visual assessment: an explanation system for landscape aesthetic

Zhou, Dan January 1992 (has links)
A rule-based expert system was developed to evaluate landscape quality from the perspective of a landscape designer/architect. The rationale for the development of such a system is that it can provide explanations for final assessments and retain this information during the reasoning process. The system also provides for systematic consideration of a broad range of variables with complex interrelationships. The entire system is composed of four subsystems programmed in VPI PROLOG. These subsystems are each separate expert systems for the assessment of man-made features, natural features, spatial organization and visual composition. The prototype of the system has been preliminarily tested and the results of the evaluation of selected landscape photographs is encouraging. The visual quality determination along with the explicit explanations, which are the translation and interpretation of the expert rules used in the reasoning process, were shown to be important in achieving a better understanding and evaluation of the landscape visual quality. / Master of Science

Utredningsarbete och upprättande av maritima kulturreservat : kultur, natur och reservat / The Investigatory work and establishing of maritime cultural reserves : culture, nature and reserves

Magnusson, Anders January 2017 (has links)
Since 1999 it has been possible for Swedish municipalities and the Swedish county administrative board to establish cultural reserves to protect particularly valuable cultural landscape. The protective character of the cultural reserve is supposed to be equivalent to the one found in nature reserves. The separation between the two protective forms have led to a marginalization of the protection of cultural landscape. This thesis has, using Posthumanist theory, studied the investigation process preceding the establishing of three maritime cultural reserves. The thesis also investigates if the general work with cultural landscape could benefit from a Posthumanist approach. To reach the purpose of this thesis, three research questions were formed: how does laws and conventions relate to Posthumanist theory, which values are highlighted in the process of investigating valuable landscapes and how does the practical work with investigating maritime cultural landscape manifest itself? The source material for the thesis consists of a study of documentation, laws and conventions. It also includes an interview study with informants at the Swedish heritage board, The Swedish National Maritime Museums and two persons responsible for the Cultural reserves at the municipality of Haninge and the Swedish county administrative board of Gävleborg. Research shows that the work with managing maritime cultural landscape and preservation would benefit from the use of a Posthumanist approach. The laws and guidelines that exists, based on euro-american definitions of what a valuable landscape is, limits the informants in their work to preserve all aspects of the landscape. Nature and culture are interlaced and cannot be separated. A landscape management system that acknowledge this and allows the public to be a part of the creation of cultural heritage, will lead to a more sustainable preservation. This document is a two years’ master´s thesis in Archive, Library and Museums studies.

Nástroje ochrany životního prostředí v českém právu / Environmental protection instruments in Czech law

Timková, Lucia January 2013 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the instruments of environmental protection which are used in the Czech legal system. Thanks to these instruments, the state and other institutions try to assign the most effective environmental protection possible. We can divide these instruments into two main categories, direct and indirect. The direct instruments are divided into conceptual, administrative - law, vindicatory and voluntary. The indirect are represented by the economic instruments, which can be divided into instruments of positive and negative stimulation. The thesis also contains specification of the particular basic principles of the environmental protection and the concretization of the institutions responsible for the protection. Each chapter also contains a demonstration of how each particular group of instruments can be practically applied in the nature and landscape protection.
