A FULL SYSTEM CHARACTERIZATION OF THE MEASUREMENT UNCERTAINTY OF A CONDUCTED EMISSIONS MEASUREMENT SYSTEM

Menke, Robert A. 01 January 2005 (has links)
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards for an accredited test laboratory require that the measurement uncertainty of the measuring instruments be characterized. The CISPR 16-4 standard gives guidance to the magnitude of this uncertainty, but no method of characterization. This thesis describes a method to perform this characterization on a conducted emissions measurement system, taking advantage of full system analysis techniques to reduce the uncertainty to exceptionally low levels. In addition, a framework is introduced whereby uncertainty can decomposed into its constituent parts such that the laboratory operator can identify methods to improve the systems performance.

Optic Fiber Communication in Commercial Vehicles : Testing of mechanical rigidity

Venugopal Parasuraman, Vijay Adhithyan January 2022 (has links)
The backbone of this dissertation is a discussion of the adaptability of optical fiber modes of transmission. The technological boom in commercial vehicles tends to include more electronic components and more data flow. The traditional copper transmission is reliable but has drawbacks. At present optical fiber, technology is in huge demand in fields like avionics, medicine, and communication across continents. The drastic shift to fiber was due to the enormous increase in capacity. Simultaneously the commercial vehicle sector is advancing in the direction of sensors that require a non-disruptive data flow. Furthermore, autonomous driving technology pushes the transition from copper to optic fiber. One expects optical fiber to supplant the traditional copper cables in the future. The dispersion and scattering losses need to be studied as well as the difference in cost.

Etude CEM des réseaux embarqués / EMC study in embedded systems

Ales, Achour 07 June 2015 (has links)
Today normative LISN EMC does not guarantee the proper functioning systematically. Safety is ensured by EMC margins often excessive. The system is therefore suboptimal Furthermore, the operation of the converters on the AN is not necessarily representative of the actual operation : the AN is not necessarily representative of the impedances of embedded networks . Thus , filtering of a converter can be optimized but on the AN is not necessarily optimal since it is a real network . The objective of this thesis is to advance the EMC modeling of embedded systems in order to predict behavior, and optimize the filter means.
