This new class of computer architectures attempts to integrate processor and memory on a single one chip¡CWe proposed a new transformation and parallelizing system named SAGE ¡]Statement Analysis Group Evaluation¡^to fully utilize the host processor and memory processors in PIM systems. In this thesis, we focus on designing a load-balance optimization mechanism for the job scheduling. The experimental results of this mechanism are also discussed.

Stability Analysis of Distribution System with Dispersed GenerationLin, Yu-Shian 12 June 2003 (has links)
The purpose of thesis is to investigate the transient stability and operation feasibility of power islanding with different type of dispersed generation in distribution system. A substation of Taipower system is selected for case study to simulate the system transient stability. The mathematical models of dispersed generations including exciters, governors of gas turbine and pitch controller of wind-driven induction generator are used in the simulation program. To represent the load behavior more accurately, the load ratio of residence, commercial, industrial customer class and the composition of electric equipments in feeder, such as induction motors, air conditioners etc, have been identified through load survey study. The load models of end users are employed in simulation to solve the power consumption as function of bus voltage and system frequency. Besides, the dynamic model of induction motors is integrated to solve more accurate system power demand under transient condition. The simulation analysis of transient stability is executed for unbalance distribution system with dispersed generations of gas turbines and wind-driven turbines with three operations sceneries after the distribution system has been disconnected from Taipower system. Different load shedding schemes and output power control of dispersed generation are considered to maintain the stable operation of islanding power system. It is suggested that the system reliability of power system can be enhanced by the dispersed power generation with proper design of load shedding in the transient stability analysis.

Expansion Planning of Substation Capacity by Considering Load Composition and System ReliabilityChen, Chih-Chiang 28 June 2003 (has links)
Customer load characteristics provides very critical information for power system operation. The accuracy of load forecasting and the effective cases of system generation and network planning can be enhanced by the investigation of customer load characteristics. In this thesis, the intelligent meters have been used to collect the power consumption within each 15 minutes of study customers, which have been selected by stratified sampling method. The typical load patterns of each customer class have been derived. The load composition and the power system load profile of Fengshan District in Taipower have been solved by the typical load patterns and the power consumption of each custom class.
To investigate the distribution system reliability, the service territory of Fengshan district is divided into six service areas. The forecasting of yearly peak loadings for each area over the future 20 years is performed by the time series method based on the historical load data and load characteristics. By using the forced outage rate ¡]FOR¡^ of main transformers in the substations, the loss of load expectation¡]LOLE¡^ which corresponds to yearly peak loading of each service area is solved. By this way, the capacity expansion planning of main transformers to meet the service reliability can therefore be derived. To further enhance the distribution system planning, the capacity transfer capability of main transformers and the tie line flow capacity between different areas are considered too. It is found that the expansion planning of main transformers by the proposed methodology can provide better cost effectiveness of transformer investment to satisfy the service reliability as well as the system peak loading.

This thesis defines the Energy Balance Load ( BL E ) as the difference between the
heating requirements plus the electric gains in the building and the cooling coil loads. It
then applies a first law energy balance in conjunction with the concepts of analytical
redundancy (AR) and trend checking to demonstrate that measured values of BL E can be
compared with the simulated characteristic ambient temperature-based BL E to serve as a
useful tool to identify bad data. Uncertainty and sensitivity analysis are introduced to
analyze the impact of each building or system parameter to the simulated values of BL E .
A Visual Basic for Application (VBA) program has been developed through this research
work, which applies the methodology illustrated in this thesis to automatically prescreen
the measured building energy consumption data with the inputs of several key
parameters. Through case studies of six on-campus buildings, the methodology and the
program successfully identified monitored consumption data that appears to be
erroneous, which may result from incorrect scale factors of the sensors and the
operational changes to the building that may enormously affect the key parameters as the
simulation inputs. Finally, suggestions are given for the on-line diagnostics of sensor
signals.

On the Design and Implementation of Load Balancing for CDPthread-based SystemsChou, Yu-chieh 02 September 2009 (has links)
In this thesis, we first propose a modified version of the CDPthread to eliminate the restriction on the number of execution engines supported¡Xby dynamically instead of statically allocating the execution engines to a process. Then, we describe a method to balance the workload among nodes under the control of the modified CDPthread to improve its performance. The proposed method keeps track of the workload of each node and decides to which node the next job is to be assigned. More precisely, the number of jobs assigned to each node is proportional to, but not limited to, the number of cores in each node. Our experimental results show that with a small loss of performance compared to the original CDPthread, which uses a static method for allocating the execution engines to a process, the modified CDPthread with load balancing outperforms the modified CDPthread without load balancing by about 25 to 45 percent in terms of the computation time. Moreover, the modified CDPthread can now handle as many threads as necessary.
