indiv?duos. No entanto, percebemos em muitas delas uma postura musical exclusivista e
meramente perform?tica, com o argumento de que desejam prestar adora??o ao Ser Divino e que,
assim, devem oferecer sempre o melhor. Al?m disso, a cultura do talento e do dom tem se
mostrado determinante na sele??o de pessoas para as pr?ticas musicais eclesi?sticas. O teatro
musical, tamb?m praticado neste contexto, tem sido realizado com os mesmo princ?pios.
Entendendo que a pr?tica musical deve estar acess?vel a todos, vimos, atrav?s dos estudos de
Santa Rosa, 2006 e 2012, o teatro musical, por suas in?meras possibilidades, como importante
ferramenta para o ensino de m?sica nesse contexto, de maneira integradora, motivadora,
interdisciplinar e libertadora. Por essa raz?o este trabalho procurou, por meio de uma pesquisaa??o,
investigar a aplicabilidade do teatro musical enquanto pr?tica pedag?gica no contexto
da Igreja Batista da Esperan?a, Natal-RN, verificando o impacto desta experi?ncia para os
envolvidos. Para alcan?ar este objetivo, realizamos a constru??o de um musical com todos
aqueles que desejassem participar, possuindo ou n?o experi?ncias musicais pr?vias. A coleta de
dados foi realizada atrav?s de di?rio de campo, entrevistas semiestruturadas com os participantes
do elenco e registros de imagens de ensaios e apresenta??es. As principais tem?ticas
evidenciadas pelos alunos foram, ent?o, categorizadas e devidamente analisadas, o que nos
mostrou o quanto o teatro musical pode ser usado como ferramenta pedag?gico-musical de modo
eficaz tamb?m no contexto eclesi?stico. Desse modo, p?de ser trazida uma outra concep??o do
fazer art?stico para as igrejas, contribuindo para a inser??o de novos part?cipes em suas pr?ticas
musicais, al?m de expandir um pouco mais os estudos sobre o teatro musical e a presen?a da
m?sica nestes espa?os, provocando outros estudos futuros. / The churches in Brazil have shown themselves as a very important space in the musical training
of many individuals. However, we perceive in many of them an excluding and merely
performatic musical posture. Their argument is the fact that they want to give worship to the
Divine Being and, for that, they must always offer their best. Besides that, the culture of the
talent and the gift has provoked the selection of people in the ecclesiastical musical practices.
The musical theatre, also practiced in this context, has been following the same principles.
Understanding that musical practices must be accessible to all people, we have seen, through the
studies of Amelia Santa Rosa, 2006 and 2012, the musical theatre, for its various possibilities, as
an important tool for the music teaching in this context in an integrating, motivating,
interdisciplinary and liberating way. For this reason, through an action research, this work has
aimed to investigate the applicability of the musical theatre as a pedagogical practice in the
context of the Igreja Batista da Esperanca (Hope Baptist Church), in Natal-RN, verifying
the impact of this experience to the ones involved. In order to accomplish this, we carried out
the construction of a musical with all of the ones who wanted to be a part of this research, having
or not having previous musical experiences. The data collection was made through the field
diary, semi-structured interviews with the cast of the musical and pictures and videos of
rehearsals and presentations. The main issues highlighted were categorized and properly
analyzed, which showed us how much the musical theatre can be used as a musical pedagogical
tool also effective in the ecclesiastical context. Thus, another conception of artistic endeavor
could be brought to churches, contributing to the inclusion of new participants in their musical
practices, expanding the studies on the musical theatre and the presence of music in these spaces
a bit more, causing other future studies.

Nos espa?os extraescolares podem ser descobertos in?meros mundos musicais e estes nos propiciam uma rica variedade de rela??es de ensino-aprendizagem sem a obrigatoriedade da presen?a do professor nesse processo, j? que, segundo Petitat (2011) ?a educa??o deriva da inser??o em rela??es ? ?s vezes escolares, mas, a maior parte do tempo, n?o escolares?. A Comunidade Cat?lica Shalom n?o tem por finalidade promover a aprendizagem musical, por?m, a rela??o estreita que seus membros t?m com a m?sica ? ineg?vel. A m?sica est? no centro da espiritualidade Shalom, presente no cotidiano e nas atividades que a Comunidade realiza (celebra??o eucar?stica, reuni?es dos grupos de ora??o, eventos). Em todas estas atividades realizadas pelo Shalom s?o atribu?das ? m?sica variadas fun??es e diversos usos. A presente obra tem como objetivo identificar as poss?veis rela??es de ensino-aprendizagem e transmiss?o musical nesse ambiente extraescolar. Para alcan?ar tal objetivo, fa?o uso da etnografia da m?sica, buscando, atrav?s da observa??o e coleta de dados, descrever as maneiras como as pessoas fazem a ?m?sica do Shalom?. / The academic route helped me to comprehend that school spaces are not the only spaces that provide music education. In the out-of-school spaces, many musical worlds can be discovered and these offer us a rich variety of teaching-learning relationships without the presence of the teacher in this process, since according to Petitat (2011) ?education derives from insertion in relations ? sometimes at schooling, but most of the time, not schooling?. The Shalom Catholic Community is not intended to promote musical learning, but the close relationship its members have with music is undeniable. Music is at the heart of Shalom spirituality, present in daily life and in the activities that the Community performs (Eucharistic celebration, prayer group meetings and events). In all these activities performed by the Shalom are assigned to the music varied functions and various uses. The present work aims to identify possible teaching-learning relationships and musical transmission in this out-of-school environment. To achieve this goal, I make use of the ethnography of music, seeking, through observation and data collection, to describe the ways in which people make "Shalom music".

Central da Igreja Evang?lica Assembleia de Deus do Natal/RN. A quest?o da pesquisa indaga
sobre como s?o as pr?ticas musicais, o ensino e a aprendizagem musical que acontece neste
local. Utilizei a abordagem qualitativa realizando um estudo de caso. O referencial te?rico
amparou-se em Arroyo (1999, 2000a, 2000b, 2002), Kraemer (2000), Souza (1996), Souza
(2000, 2008, 2009), Green (1997), Queiroz (2004a, 2004b, 2005, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2013),
Geertz (1989), Nettl (1992) e Merrian (1964). Realizei entrevistas semiestruturadas e
observa??o participante com a dire??o do departamento de m?sica, coordena??o pedag?gica,
alunos, professores, m?sicos e regentes da igreja. O estudo revelou que a rela??o entre m?sica
e ensino est? al?m de apenas uma forma??o musical, existem muitas rela??es que se
estabelecem, como f?, cren?a em Deus e devo??o. Identificou-se que as concep??es de
m?sicos e regentes pensam o ensino de m?sica na igreja para tocar nos cultos e louvar a Deus.
Na forma??o musical dos alunos, foi trabalhado n?o apenas conte?dos musicais;
compreendeu-se que a m?sica ? mediadora de significados que v?o al?m de viv?ncias e
pr?ticas musicais; que a adora??o a Deus e o culto religioso caracterizam as pr?ticas musicais
e seus reflexos s?o diretos nas aulas de m?sica. A pesquisa contribui para uma reflex?o e
entendimento da m?sica e a educa??o musical que acontece na igreja evang?lica e uma
compreens?o maior na rela??o entre a educa??o musical e o contexto cultural onde acontece. / This study aims to investigate the music and the existing music education in Central Temple
of the Evangelical Assembly of God Church of Natal/RN. The research question asks how are
the musical practices, teaching and learning music that happens in this place. I used the
qualitative approach conducting a case study. The theoretical framework were Arroyo (1999,
2000a, 2000b, 2002), Kraemer (2000), Souza (1996), Souza (2000, 2008, 2009), Green
(1997), Queiroz (2004a, 2004b, 2005, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2013), Geertz (1989), Nettl (1992)
and Merrian (1964). I conducted semi-structured interviews and participant observation with
the direction of the music department, teaching coordination, students, teachers, musicians
and conductors of the church. The study revealed that the relationship between music and
education is beyond just a musical training, there are many relationships established as faith,
belief in God and devotion. It was found that the views of musicians and conductors think the
music teaching in the church to play in worship and praise God. In the musical training of
students, he was working not only musical content; It was understood that music is a mediator
of meanings that go beyond experiences and musical practices. The worship of God and the
worship featuring musical practices and their effects are direct music classes. The research
contributes to reflection and understanding of music and music education happens in the
evangelical church and a greater understanding in the relationship between music education
and the cultural context where it happens.
