Armando Ribeiro Gon?alves, mais conhecida como Barragem de A?u, ? uma obra geot?cnica de expressiva notoriedade e import?ncia no Rio Grande do Norte e no Nordeste. Al?m do seu porte ? ? a maior barragem do RN ? e import?ncia, ganhou destaque na literatura nacional e internacional pelo rompimento do talude de montante no final do per?odo construtivo. A partir da an?lise dos dados de instrumenta??o dispon?veis no meio acad?mico, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo analisar o comportamento da obra nas etapas de constru??o do maci?o, primeiro enchimento e opera??o do reservat?rio. Em cada etapa, foi analisado: o comportamento tens?o-deforma??o; a varia??o de poro-press?es; e a estabilidade de taludes. As an?lises foram feitas com os softwares Sigma/W, Seep/W e Slope/W, pertencentes ao pacote Geo-Studio, da empresa Geo-Slope. Os resultados das modelagens foram comparados aos dados da instrumenta??o, dispon?veis em Rocha (2003). Na an?lise comparativa dos deslocamentos verticais, a maior diferen?a entre os resultados da modelagem e os dados da instrumenta??o foi de 8,9 cm, no extens?metro T7, no final do primeiro enchimento. Na an?lise da estabilidade, o fator de seguran?a mais baixo foi de 1,3, fornecido pelo m?todo dos elementos finitos, para o talude de montante, na fase de opera??o do reservat?rio. Entretanto, a m?dia dos fatores de seguran?a obtidos pelos m?todos baseados no equil?brio-limite nesta etapa foi de 2,4. Para o talude de jusante, esse fator foi de 1,6 em todas as etapas. Esses resultados comprovam a condi??o est?vel da barragem de A?u. Na an?lise de poropress?es, os piez?metros pneum?ticos apresentaram maiores diverg?ncias, entre modelagem e instrumenta??o, do que os de tubo aberto. A diferen?a mais expressiva foi de 46% (23 kPa), no piez?metro PZP1, no primeiro enchimento do reservat?rio. Entretanto, considerando as diferen?as obtidas por outros autores que tamb?m estudaram o fluxo nesta barragem, conclui-se que os resultados da an?lise s?o satisfat?rios e que os par?metros adotados s?o adequados para caracterizar os solos modelados. / The A?u Dam is an important geotechnical built in Rio Grande do Norte and in Northeast Brazilian, especially because of its size and complexity. In addition to its size and importance, it has gained prominence in the national and international literature because of the collapse in upstream slope in the end of construction period. This paper aimed to analyze its behavior in stages of dam construction, first filling and operation of the reservoir. In each step, were analyzed: the stress-strain behavior, the flow and the pore-pressure variation, and the slope stability. These analyses were performed with the software Sigma/W, Seep/W and Slope/W, which are components in a suite of geotechnical products called GeoStudio, produced by Geo-Slope International Ltd. The results were compared with the instrumentation dates available in Rocha (2003). In the comparative analysis of vertical displacements, the largest difference between modeling results and instrumentation data was 8.9 cm, in the T7 extensometer, at the end of the first filling. In the stability analysis, the lowest safety factor was 1.3 for the upstream slope in the reservoir operation phase, but the media of the safety factors obtained by the methods based on limit equilibrium was 2.4. For a downstream slope, this factor was equal to 1.6 in all stages. These results confirm the dam stable condition. In pore-pressure analysis, the pneumatic piezometers presented greater divergences between modeling and instrumentation than those of the Casagrande type. The most significant difference was 46% (23 kPa), in the PZP1 piezometer, at the first filling of the reservoir. However, considering the differences obtained by other authors who also studied the water flow in this dam, we conclude that the results of the present analysis are satisfactory and that the adopted parameters are adequate to characterize the soils modeled.

O uso de t?cnicas de recupera??o, tal como a inje??o c?clica de vapor, submete os materiais a varia??es de temperatura severas reduzindo a vida ?til do po?o; ainda, podendo levar ? falha do revestimento met?lico e da bainha de cimento. A perda da integridade da bainha de cimento pode acarretar no vazamento dos fluidos presentes na forma??o e, em alguns casos, ocasionando significantes preju?zos ambientais e econ?micos. No caso de po?os sujeitos ? inje??o c?clica de vapor, a resist?ncia, a flexibilidade e as propriedades t?rmicas t?m sido apontadas como chave do problema. Neste trabalho, as an?lises termomec?nicas foram realizadas utilizando o m?todo dos elementos finitos em modo transiente. O revestimento met?lico, a bainha de cimento e a forma??o foram modelados utilizando-se um modelo 2D axissim?trico com elementos quadril?teros de 8 n?s. Foi analisado o comportamento mec?nico de bainha de cimento, sendo tr?s formula??es de pastas estudadas: pasta de refer?ncia e mais duas aditivadas com l?tex em concentra??es de 125 e 250 ml/kg de cimento. A influ?ncia da espessura da bainha de cimento e a taxa de aquecimento foram observadas como tamb?m seis diferentes valores de coeficientes de expans?o t?rmica para pasta de cimento. Foram analisados gradientes de temperaturas distintos de 150 oC, 200 oC, 250 oC, 300 oC e 350 oC, t?picas temperaturas encontradas no processo de inje??o de vapor, bem como em meio a forma??es com v?rios n?veis de rigidez. O estudo evidenciou que um dos problemas da integridade da bainha de cimento devido a inje??o de vapor est? associado a fase de aquecimento do po?o e localizado na regi?o da bainha pr?ximo ? forma??o. Foi constatado que vincular o emprego da formula??o mais flex?vel e expansiva a uma aplica??o do gradiente de temperatura de modo mais lento, pode prevenir o surgimento de danos na bainha de cimento evitando manobras de recimenta??o. Tal procedimento se mostrou eficaz para meios rochosos mais r?gidos bem como para temperaturas alvo mais elevadas. / Exposure of oil wells to extreme conditions has led to numerous integrity issues, even when designed properly. The use of recovery techniques, such as the cyclic steam injection, submits the materials to severe temperature variations, reducing the oil well lifespan; and may lead to failure of the steel casing and cement sheath. The loss of integrity of the cement sheath may lead to leakage of the fluids present in the formation and, in some cases, causing significant environmental and economic damages. In the case of wells subjected to the cyclic steam injection, resistance, flexibility and thermal properties have been identified as the key to the problem. In the present work, thermomechanical analyzes were performed using the finite element method in transient mode. The steel casing, the cement sheath and the formation were modeled using an axisymmetric 2D model with 8-node quadrilateral elements. The mechanical behavior of the cement sheath was analyzed, being three formulations of pastes studied: reference paste and two other paste with latex additives in concentrations of 125 and 250 ml / kg of cement. The influence of the cement sheath thickness and the heating rate were observed as well as six different coefficient values of thermal expansion for cement paste. It was analyzed the temperature gradients of 150 oC, 200 oC, 250 oC, 300 oC and 350 oC, typical temperatures encountered during the steam injection process, as well as between formations with various levels of rigidity. The study revealed that one of the problems of cement sheath integrity due to steam injection is associated with the heating phase of the well and located in the region of the sheath near the formation. It has been found that linking the use of the more flexible and expansive formulation to an extending temperature gradient period application may prevent damage to the cement sheath by avoiding recementing maneuvers. Such a procedure proved to be effective for more rigid rock media as well as for higher target temperatures.

The use of these current cylindrical models for storage in the converted vehicles is justified by the excellent behavior that this geometry presents about the imposed tensions for the high pressure that the related reservoirs are submitted. However, recent research directed toward application of adsorbent materials in the natural gas reservoirs had proven a substantial redusction of pressure and, consequently, a relief of the tensions in the reservoirs. However, this study considers alternative geometries for NGV reservoirs, searching the minimization of dimensions and weight, remaining capacity to resist the tensions imposed by the new pressure situation. The proposed reservoirs parameters are calculated through a mathematical study of the internal pressure according to Brazilian standards (NBR) for pressure vessels. Finally simulations of the new geometries behavior are carried through using a commercially avaible Finite Element Method (FEM) software package ALGOR? to verify of the reservoirs efficincy under the gas pressure load / A investiga??o da viabilidade de se utilizar recipientes para armazenamento de g?s natural veicular (GNV), com geometrias diferentes dos padr?es comerciais, parte da necessidade de se aliar os benef?cios ambientais, financeiros e tecnol?gicos oferecidos pela combust?o do g?s, ? conveni?ncia de n?o se alterar a proposta original do autom?vel. O uso dos atuais modelos cil?ndricos para estocagem nos ve?culos convertidos justifica-se pelo excelente comportamento que essa geometria apresenta diante das tens?es provocadas pela alta press?o a que os referidos reservat?rios est?o submetidos.
