Para isto, investigamos os temas agendados pelo telejornal, assim como alguns assuntos silenciados. Utilizamos como amostra uma edição mensal do JN de janeiro de 2003 a outubro de 2006, de forma que pudéssemos entender como foi a cobertura econômica do JN no primeiro governo Lula. As 46 edições foram decompostas em matérias, e estas, por sua vez, foram agrupadas por temas, para que pudéssemos separar aquelas que tratassem de economia. Essas matérias foram divididas em onze assuntos (impostos, produção e venda, emprego e desemprego, inflação, câmbio e bolsa de valores, exportação e importação, renda, consumo e crédito, avaliação e crédito internacional, política fiscal e juros) que tiveram seus enquadramentos analisados. O arcabouço teórico e metodológico se apóia basicamente em trabalhos de Robert Entman, Daniel Hallin e Mauro Porto. _______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The objective of our research was to identify the frames given to the news about economy presented by the “Jornal Nacional” (JN), the most watched news program of Brazilian TV, as well as identify the degree of plurality of available frames to the public. For that purpose, we investigated the subjects that were part of the JN’s agenda, as well as some silenced subjects. We used one monthly edition of the JN, between January of 2003 and October of 2006, to understand the frame of economic coverage during the first period of president Lula’s government. The 46 editions were decomposed in news, which were grouped by subjects so that we could separate the ones that were about economy. These news were divided in eleven subjects (taxes, production and sales level, employment and unemployment, inflation, exchange and stock market, exportation and importation, income, consumption and credit, international evaluation and credit, tax policy, and interests), whose frames we analyzed. As to the theoretical and the methodological parts of the research we used studies of Robert Entman, Daniel Hallin and Mauro Porto.
