In this dissertation, we study several stochastic capacity expansion models in the presence of permanent, spot market, and contract capacity for acquisition. Using a scenario tree approach to handle the data uncertainty of the problems, we develop multi-stage stochastic integer programming formulations for these models. First, we study multi-period single resource stochastic capacity expansion problems, where different sources of capacity are available to the decision maker. We develop efficient algorithms that can solve these models to optimality in polynomial time. Second, we study multi-period stochastic network capacity expansion problems with different sources for capacity. The proposed models are NP-hard multi-stage stochastic integer programs and we develop an efficient, asymptotically convergent approximation algorithm to solve them. Third, we consider some decomposition algorithms to solve the proposed multi-stage stochastic network capacity expansion problem. We propose an enhanced Benders' decomposition algorithm to solve the problem, and a Benders' decomposition-based heuristic algorithm to find tight bounds for it. Finally, we extend the stochastic network capacity expansion model by imposing budget restriction on permanent capacity acquisition cost. We design a Lagrangian relaxation algorithm to solve the model, including heuristic methods to find tight upper bounds for it. / Thesis / Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Disertacija skirta logistinei ekonominių ciklų analizei. Darbo tikslas - vadovaujantis ekonomine logistine teorija atskleisti ir nustatyti ciklinio ekonominio svyravimo priežastis. Darbe atliekama teorinė, logistinė ir empirinė ciklinių ekonominių svyravimų analizė. Įvertinant ekonominės logistinės teorijos nuostatas, patikslinama ekonominio ciklo samprata, parengiamas teorinis logistinis ekonominio ciklo modelis ir logistinis ciklinio ekonominės sistemos svyravimo ir raidos tyrimo modelis. Darbe atskleidžiamos vidutinės trukmės ekonominių ciklų susiformavimą veikiančios giluminės priežastys. Nustatoma inovacinių procesų įtaka rinkos susiformavimui, rinkos talpos uždarumo įtaka rinkos kaitimui, rinkos prisotinimui ir paslėptosios perprodukcijos bei burbulo proceso susiformavimui. Taip pat atskleidžiama visų minėtų procesų ir ekonominių paradoksų (didėjančio pelningumo paradokso ir skolos spąstų paradokso) įtaka ekonominio ciklo formavimuisi ir veikimui. / Dissertation deals with logistical analysis of economic cycles. The influence of all the mentioned processes as well as economic paradoxes ((growing profitability paradox and credit trap paradox)) to the formation and working of economic cycle are revealed.

Магистерская диссертация посвящена исследованию феномена электронного книгоиздания с точки зрения исследования рынка. Проведен аналитический обзор темы, дана характеристика специфических особенностей электронных изданий и каналов их дистрибуции, проанализированы статистические данные по российскому книжному рынку за 2021–2022 гг. На основании проведенного анализа выявлены тенденции, проблемы и перспективы развития электронного книгоиздания в России. / Master's thesis is devoted to the study of the electronic book publishing phenomenon from the marketing point of view. An analytical review of the topic was carried out, characteristics of the specific features of electronic publications and their distribution channels were given, and statistical data on the Russian book market for 2021–2022 was analyzed. Based on the analysis, trends, problems and prospects for the development of electronic book publishing in Russia were identified.
