The evolution of Turkish nationalism between 1904 and 1980

This study aims to look at the discourse and development of Turkish Nationalism. This is done through focusing on four well known thinkers of Turkish Nationalism. In this dissertation, works, actions, discourse and legacies of Mehmet Ziya Gokalp, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Huseyin Nihal Atsiz and Alparslan Turkes are looked at using textual analysis and an ethno-symbolist approach. Through this work the family relation between these thinkers and the boundaries of Turkish Nationalism can be understood. Ziya Gokalp, as the 'father' of the Ideological Turkish Nationalism, has laid the foundation for nationalists after him and his ideas have been instrumental in the setting up of the Republic of Turkey. Gokalp by setting up the three ideals; "To be more Turk, to be more Islamic and to be more modern" has set the tone for the rest of the century for Turkish Nationalism. Kemal Ataturk was the founder of Modern Turkey and was also a nationalist, as a result he implemented many policies that were highly nationalistic. His legacy continues to live on but can be interpreted differently by different people. Nihal Atsiz affected Turkish Nationalism in a very different manner. Instead of having a long term ideological effect he gave 'soul' to nationalism through his literary work and his rich usage of imagery. After him, Alparslan Turkes' struggle in a tumultuous time in Turkey and Turkish Nationalism as a competing ideology in Turkish politics is viewed. This work also takes a look at mainstream political currents in Turkey and nationalists' relations with them and the critique of Turkish Nationalism and Turkish Nationalists, and from the findings of this research, it can be speculated that there are three mainstream political movements, contrary to widely believed two. This can be best personified by the three pashas of the Turkish Independence War; Ismet Inonu, Kazim Karabekir and Fevzi Cakmak. The findings of this research shows that there is a family relation between the four thinkers and despite that there have been some slight differences the discourse and the activities of Turkish Nationalism has stayed on one course.

Savitvarkiai monosluoksniai suteikia metalų paviršiams norimas savybes ir plačiai taikomi elektronų pernašos tyrimuose, konstruojant (bio)jutiklius, biotechnologinius bei fotoelektroninius procesus. Teigiamo krūvio monosluoksniai naudojami kuriant anijonų jutiklius ir (bio)technologinius procesus su adsorbuotomis neigiamo krūvio makromolekulėmis. Darbe buvo susintetinta bifunkcinė molekulė su galinėmis tiolio ir piridinio grupėmis, suformuotas monosluoksnis ir ištirtos jo struktūrinės ir funkcinės savybės. Pagrindiniai darbo tikslai buvo ištirti N-(6-merkapto)heksilpiridinio (MHP) adsorbuoto ant Au ir Ag elektrodų struktūrą ir nustatyti monosluoksnio sąveikos su neorganiniais anijonais, dodecilsulfato anijonu ir grafeno oksidu dėsningumus. Naudojant paviršiaus sustiprintos Ramano spektroskopijos, kvantų chemijos skaičiavimo ir izotopinio pakeitimo metodus nustatyti MHP struktūros ir orientacijos elektrodo atžvilgiu Ramano sklaidos žymenys. Tiriant juostų intensyvumo priklausomybes nuo potencialo ir žadinančios spinduliuotės bangos ilgio parodyta, kad Au/MHP sistemoje pasireiškia krūvio pernešimo Ramano spektrų stiprinimo mechanizmas. Nustatyta, kad adsorbuotų neorganinių anijonų pilnai simetrinio virpesio dažnis sumažėja lyginant su tirpalo spektru ir tas pokytis koreliuoja su Gibso dehidracijos energija. Parodyta, kad MHP pritraukia grafeno oksidą. Nustatyta, kad grafeno oksido C-C ryšio ilgis ir elektroninė struktūra gali būti keičiama, keičiant potencialą. / Self-assembled monolayers provide possibility of changing metal surface properties in controllable manner and are widely used in studies of electron transfer, construction of (bio)sensors, and biotechnological and photoelectronic processes. Based on surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), quantum chemical calculations, and isotopic substitution studies, the Raman marker bands for structure and orientation of MHP have been evaluated. Dependence of SERS intensity on potential and excitation wavelength has revealed the operation of charge transfer Raman enhancement mechanism. It was found that the frequency of symmetric stretching mode of adsorbed ions decreases comparing with solution value and the extent of the shift correlates with the Gibbs dehydration energy. Adsorption of graphene oxide at MHP monolayer has been demonstrated. The electronic structure and length of C-C bonds of graphene oxide was found to be altered by the potential.

Self-assembled monolayers provide possibility of changing metal surface properties in controllable manner and are widely used in studies of electron transfer, construction of (bio)sensors, and biotechnological and photoelectronic processes. Positively charged monolayers are valuable in development of sensors for anions and (bio)technological processes with adsorbed negatively charged macromolecules. In this work the structural and functional properties of monolayer formed from synthesized molecule with terminal thiol and pyridinium groups have been studied. The objective of this study is to analyse the discourse (from 1990s onwards) of the radical nationalist perspective about Turkey-EU relations. The EU is discussed as an actor within the globalization process. Therefore, in a broader context, the study presents the situation of the radical nationalist perspective in Turkey within the globalization process. In the study, the Milliyet&ccedil / i Hareket Partisi/MHP (Nationalist Action Party) has been selected as the political representative of radical nationalism in Turkey. The party&rsquo / s official discourse concerning the relations with EU is focused. In this framework, the party&rsquo / s perception of the EU, of Turkey-EU relations, of Turkey&rsquo / s position, of itself and of other actors in these relations are analysed. It is analysed which themes are prominent in its discourse. While doing this, I also try to reveal possible contradictions, uncertainties and ambivalences.

Ela trará o aumento da diversidade e disponibilidade de conteúdo multimídia e fará com que as pessoas deixem de ser meros espectadores para se tornarem também usuários de aplicativos multimídia interativos. Estes aplicativos virão com o conteúdo multimídia e irão permitir que o usuário possa interagir ativamente com o conteúdo exibido ou até mesmo com as emissoras, pois os padrões de TV digital prevêem a existência de um canal de interação através do qual o aparelho de TV possa se comunicar numa rede de computadores, como a Internet, por exemplo. Desta forma, as aplicações de TV digital poderão acessar serviços como e-mail, Internet-banking e comércio eletrônico. No entanto, estes são serviços centralizados e não exploram a interatividade entre as pessoas. É fácil prever que, num futuro próximo, existirá demanda por aplicações que explorem a interatividade entre as pessoas. Porém, fazer com que estas aplicações se comuniquem é um verdadeiro desafio, pois o uso de servidores para intermediar mensagens está sujeito a problemas de escalabilidade, e a troca direta de mensagens é prejudicada pela heterogeneidade da rede em que o canal de interação é disponibilizado. Este trabalho propõe um Middleware para este tipo de aplicação distribuída. O Middleware proposto foi baseado no modelo de comunicação peer-to-peer, pois, após a análise dos requisitos deste tipo de software distribuído, verificou-se que este modelo é o que melhor se adequa. O mesmo foi construído sobre a plataforma JXTA, que resolve os problemas de infra-estrutura da rede, compreendendo um serviço avançado de busca e um mecanismo de invocação remota de método, semelhante à tecnologia Java RMI

Gray Wolves, in Turkish called Bozkurtlar and officially named Ülkü Ocakları, are Turkish ultranationalist organization. In some sources, the organization is described as neo-fascistic. This youth organization has close ties to the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP). The organization is described as a parallel or militant wing of MHP. Its members deny the political nature of the organization and claim that it is a cultural and educational foundation. The organization was founded by Colonel Alparslan Türkeş in the late sixties of the twentieth century. During the seventies, the organization was the creator of political violence in Turkey during which its members carried out an urban partisan war with left-wing activists and militants. Nowadays, the organization operates not only in Turkey, but also mainly in all countries with a large Turkish minority such as Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Sweden, Greece, Cyprus, Azerbaijan, China, Russia and Syria.

Tato práce se zabývá analýzou power-bus struktur využitím metody založené na formulaci problému 2D hraniční integrální rovnicí ve frekvenční oblasti. Uvedená metoda byla implementována v Matlabu. Program umožňuje analyzovat obecné polygonální power-bus struktury s možností nastavení parametrů substrátu a libovolného počtu a umístění budících portů. Výstupem programu je frekvenční závislost rozložení elektrického pole mezi deskami struktury, vztahy mezi porty struktury vyjádřené např. impedanční maticí a vyzařovací diagram. Dále byla implementována možnost převodu výsledné impedanční matice do tzv. Touchstone formátu, pomocí něhož je možné modelovat analyzované struktury jako obecné N-porty (např. v ANSOFT Designeru), což umožňuje analýzu power-bus struktur s dalšími obvodovými prvky. Výsledky byly ověřeny pomocí existujících analytických vztahů pro jednoduché obdélníkové struktury, využitím komerčního simulačního programu a praktickým experimentem.

Výpočtové modelování hluku v kabině letounu VUT 100 Cobra / Computational modelling of noise inside cabin of aircraft VUT 100 Cobra

This master’s thesis deals with the computational simulation of low-frequency noise inside the cabin of small commercial airplane VUT 100 Cobra. For this low-frequncy range deterministic methods: Final Element Method (FEM) and Boundary Element Method (BEM) are used for simulation of the dynamic behaviour of the object. FEM has been used to compute eigenmodes and eigenfrequences of the structure of the aeroplane cabin and of the acoustic space inside cabin. Then response to harmonic excitation of engine represented by unit forces in place of contact has been computed. Obtained velocities on the surface of the cabin are then used as the basis for the noise calculation inside the cabin using BEM. After that effect of some construction modifications on sound level inside cabin are evaluated by computational modelling.
