The research aims to develop an understanding of the extent to which collaboration occurs through the use of online technologies in the project management environment. Given the breadth of the technological landscape, this research focuses on the use of online collaborative toolsets (OCTs). The research investigates six Project Management Environments (PMEs) and their use of OCTs, and uses a Collaboration scale developed specifically to measure the level of collaboration existing within each PME. The Collaboration scale presents collaboration not as a single entity, but as a scale ranging from low to high across six elements. Central to this theory is that for collaboration to exist, all elements must rate highly against the scale. The research argues that although all collaborative elements are found within a PME, it is the level of each element that determines the degree to which collaboration is occurring. A case study approach incorporated three broad strategies to collect data. The first strategy included a Likert questionnaire using the Dichotomous scale, which was administered to collect data on the operations of the individual projects. The second strategy included interviews that asked the project manager of each case specific questions regarding the PME. The third strategy involved desk research to scan for literature and web artefacts. The conclusions drawn from this research are: 1. OCTs can contain a variety of features, several of which are common amongst all. The research identified common requirements and use of the OCTs within the cases. 2. Although OCTs are capable of facilitating a high level of collaboration, Project Managers do not use OCTs for this purpose. The different project environments reviewed are not necessarily collaborative, nor do they use OCTs to assist with collaborative exercises. 3. OCTs are used predominantly for cooperation and coordinating activities within the PME. 4. Collaboration in the PMEs reviewed exists in degrees, at times being identified with cooperative functions, and at other times coordinating functions. 5. The findings demonstrate a pattern of collaboration, which is consistent across all cases. This pattern demonstrates a variation in the collaborative elements across the PME, and indicates a priority that may exist in regard to how these elements are prescribed within the actual project environment.

In the current context, social and environmental concerns of society require from public and private organizations sustainable policies and actions. In the federal institutions of third-level education (IFES), that are diffusers organizations of knowledge, there s a need to think of environmental issues and also generate initiatives that make possible to create social and environmentally responsible educational environments. Identify the perceptions of members of the UFSM about the environment and propose a training program of Environmental Management to the servers of the Institution. This study was an exploratory analysis and it is classified regarding the focus like a qualitative research, researching on websites, documents and legislation, and so semi-structured interviews. The interviews were done with other IFES and government agencies of judicial area, as well as the public servants and managers of the UFSM and also members of committees that work with the subject matter of sustainability in the institution. Results of the study showed that the respondents are available to participate of activities in the environmental, because the considerations showed in the research are sure about the importance of environmental management. In this respect, running the activities that contextualize theory and practice, that are focused on the rational use of resources and public goods, waste management, on environmental legislation, in quality of life at the workplace; sustainable procurements can be developed in the institution, once it was the most recommended themes by the respondents. All respondents stressed the need to work with the theory in order to educate the people; however they pointed out as essential to do practical actions concurrently to get better outcomes from the training. In the point of view of this dissertation authoress it is needed an institutional work to create a culture of attention to the environmental aspects linked to the training, which will help the institution to achieve its environmental objectives, because it will provide clarification for its internal community. / No contexto atual, as preocupações socioambientais da sociedade exigem das organizações públicas e privadas políticas e ações em prol do desenvolvimento sustentável. Nas instituições federais de ensino superior (IFES), que são organizações disseminadoras de conhecimento, existe a necessidade de refletir sobre as questões ambientais e também gerar iniciativas que permitam criar ambientes educacionais socialmente e ambientalmente responsáveis. Nesse sentido, este estudo teve como objetivo geral identificar as percepções de integrantes da UFSM sobre o meio ambiente e propor um programa de capacitação na área de Gestão Ambiental para os servidores da instituição. Este estudo teve abordagem exploratória e se classifica com relação ao enfoque em pesquisa qualitativa, com pesquisas em sites, documentos e legislação, e também entrevistas semiestruturadas. As entrevistas foram realizadas com outras IFES e órgãos públicos da área judiciária, bem como com servidores e gestores da UFSM e ainda integrantes das comissões que trabalham com a área da sustentabilidade na instituição. Os resultados do estudo demonstraram que os entrevistados estão disponíveis para participar de atividades na área ambiental, pois pelas considerações expostas na pesquisa estão cientes da importância da gestão ambiental. Nesse sentido, a realização de atividades que contextualizem teoria e prática, que tenham foco no uso racional de recursos e bens públicos, na gestão de resíduos, legislação ambiental, qualidade de vida no ambiente de trabalho, compras sustentáveis podem ser desenvolvidas na instituição, visto que foram os assuntos mais recomendados pelos entrevistados. Todos os entrevistados salientaram a necessidade de se trabalhar com teoria a fim de instruir as pessoas, porém ressaltaram como primordial a realização de ações práticas concomitantemente para obter melhores resultados com a capacitação. Na visão da autora desta dissertação, faz-se necessário um trabalho institucional que crie uma cultura de atenção para os aspectos ambientais aliados à capacitação, que auxiliará a instituição a atingir seus objetivos socioambientais, pois fornecerá esclarecimentos a sua comunidade interna.

Our research begins with a historical reflection on the theme, under the international documents and conferences held throughout the twentieth century to the present time, in national and state scope, to then reflect on how the Brazilian Judiciary has implemented this discussion to its-own routine. Regarding the judicial practices towards the environment, our dissertation seeks to explain programs adopted on for education of public servants, public managers and the general public about sustainability, among other things, to finally arrive at a clear reflection on how the matter is being dealt on public environmental management by Brazilian Electoral Justice. / Tendo em vista a ampla discussão que o tema Gestão Ambiental, assim como o termo sustentabilidade, tem provocado nos últimos anos em quase todas as esferas do conhecimento e da atividade humana, esta dissertação de mestrado procura se debruçar sobre como a gestão pública ambiental vem sendo abordada na esfera do poder judiciário brasileiro, com foco na abordagem dada pela Justiça Eleitoral. Nossa pesquisa parte de uma reflexão histórica do tema, no âmbito das conferências e dos documentos internacionais, ao longo do século XX até o atual momento, no âmbito nacional e estadual, para, em seguida, refletir sobre como o Judiciário implementou essa discussão à sua rotina. This Thesis focuses on the current issues of environmental protection in industrial enterprises and it presents options and approaches to environmental protection, including the effect on competitiveness. The intention is to summarise problems and justify benefits for the company in terms of continually increasing efficiency and competitiveness. The Thesis is the inspiration for manufacturing enterprises and shows the way how to actively contribute to environmental protection. The conclusions lead to the integration of environmental knowledge and principles of environmental protection into the company strategy.

This diploma thesis with the title Creation of the integrated system of the quality management on the base of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 in the particular firm has the target to develop the proposal of the procedure of the implementation of the system of the environmental management according to the norm ČSN EN ISO 14001 and of the quality management according to the norm ČSN EN ISO 9001 in the company LAMIVEX s.r.o. To reach the target it was necessary to hold a conversation with the senior management and the employees, to observe their every day activities and to make the internal audit. The following step was to elaborate the gained information and to create the documentation according to the norm ČSN EN ISO 14001 and the norm ČSN EN ISO 9001.

Professionals from a lot of knowledge areas are dedicating time of studying to find alternative ways to relieve or eliminate the environmental impacts. The economic development and the population growth have been contributing for the environmental impacts and it is noticed the need of actions from firms and stakeholders. ISO International organization for standardization of normalization presents the series ISO 14000 as a way of establishing requirements for the Environmental Management System, but many firms have the difficulty to implement the system because they don t know how to operate. What is proposed on these is to establish an implementation model of environmental management system to the private and public firms that orientates and gives directions to whom is on charge of the firms. The proposed model involver all the requisites of NBR ISO 14001 and was developed from the facts raisings in 20 firms from many lines of activities and actuation sector. Interviews and observations were made form itinerary of facts collection, previously elaborated. The proposed model involves the many resource types humans, financials, materials and technologicals. The research of environmental impacts aspects is basic to the structuration of the Environmental Management System and should be achieved in a participative way. The stakeholders need to be prepared and the job of a team winch involves many kinds of subjects is basic. The research in the firms was the basis to structure the model by making possible the knowledge about the working process and the internal process extant. / A questão ambiental tem sido foco de debates nos meios acadêmico e empresarial em função da sua importância e necessidade de ações emergenciais. Profissionais de várias áreas de conhecimento estão dedicando tempo de estudo para encontrar formas alternativas de mitigar ou eliminar os impactos ambientais. O desenvolvimento econômico e o crescimento populacional têm contribuído para o aumento dos impactos ambientais e percebe-se a necessidade de ações por parte das empresas e stakeholders. A ISO organização internacional de normalização apresenta a série ISO 14000 como forma de estabelecer requisitos para o Sistema de gestão ambiental, mas diversas empresas sentem a dificuldade de implementar o sistema por não conhecerem a forma de operacionalização. O que se propõe na tese é estabelecer um modelo de implementação de sistema de gestão ambiental para as empresas públicas e privadas que oriente e direcione os responsáveis das empresas. O modelo proposto envolve todos os requisitos da NBR ISO 14001 e foi desenvolvido a partir de levantamentos de dados em 20 empresas de diversos ramos de atividades e setor de atuação. Foram realizadas entrevistas e observações a partir de roteiro de coleta de dados, previamente elaborado. O modelo proposto envolve os diversos tipos de recursos humanos, financeiros, materiais e tecnológicos. O levantamento de aspectos e impactos ambientais é fundamental para a estruturação do Sistema de gestão ambiental e deve ser realizado de forma participativa. Os stakeholders precisam ser preparados e o trabalho de uma equipe multidisciplinar é fundamental. A pesquisa nas empresas foi a base para se estruturar o modelo por ter possibilitado o conhecimento sobre o funcionamento e os processos internos existentes.

The aim of this diploma thesis was to analyze the current effects of FSC production on the Czech market. The analysis of certified products in the Czech Republic was performed from the perspective of consumers and companies. The first step was a short consumer survey, which was distributed among respondents in electronic and paper versions. The main objective of this research was to measure awareness of FSC logo and its effects in the consumer choice process. The second part of this research was dedicated to companies producing or selling certified furniture. The field research was conducted among selected stores situated in České Budějovice.

The Master's Thesis deals with the usage of various software tools in emergency management and in environmental protection. Nowadays, on every step we make, we can face emergency situations which can cause great harm to the environment as well as to human life and property. The theoretical part provides an overview of software tools. Different software tools, their basic parameters, development and usage are described. There are also explained terms like geographic information system, etc. The practical part is focused on the instruments used in selected countries, including Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Hungary, USA, Canada and the United Kingdom. In the conclusion is the comparison of the effectiveness of software tools in emergency management and in environmental protection.
