Školní uniforma: důvody, diskuze, rozhodnutí / School Uniform: Reasons, Discussion, Decision Making

Bednaříková, Barbora January 2013 (has links)
Innovation and change are phenomenons any time. Within the scope of the Theory and Prac- tice of School Management module, the theses deals with management of a specific change, namely introduction of school uniforms into practice. The theoretical part of the thesis is based on relevant specialized literature on school management, marketing strategy, school culture and change management. It is completed with available foreign experience and con- clusions of surveys and research of media image, which is playing an important role in respect with the issue. The practical part, i.e. research, provides information and data obtained by the author from interviews with management of schools currently introducing school uniforms. The research results show that the original expectations have not been met in any of the pro- jects included. Understanding the cause of this failure, or else, partial success of the projects, constitutes an important part of the information summary designed for school headmasters considering introduction of school uniforms. The generalized research findings combined with theoretical knowledge imply a set of key recommendations introduced in the thesis con- clusion.

[en] INFRASTRUCTURE, SCHOOL MANAGEMENT AND PERFORMANCE IN READING AND MATHEMATICS: A STUDY FROM GERES PROJECT / [pt] INFRAESTRUTURA, GESTÃO ESCOLAR E DESEMPENHO EM LEITURA E MATEMÁTICA: UM ESTUDO A PARTIR DO PROJETO GERES

NAIRA DA COSTA MUYLAERT LIMA 06 November 2012 (has links)
[en] Since the 1970s, studies of school effectiveness began to look into the school with the intent to understand, in any social context, the school characteristics that affect the students academic performance. The research find a set of factors that influence learning, letting students with a better academic results than expected. In other words, schools that have a specific set of characteristics that make the students with good results in educational assessments. From the Brazilian literature on school effectiveness which indicates that both the school resources as well as the school organization and management impacts the student performance, this study investigates the school characteristics on the distribution of infrastructure and pedagogic management of elementary schools, as well as the main factors in students proficiency in the elementary school for math and reading of Project Geres students. We chose to investigate only those students who have proficiency in all tests (waves), because these students were under the same conditions of infrastructure and pedagogic management over the four years of research. The longitudinal design allows us to analyze the data year-by-year. We found that the school characteristic distribution is unequal across school systems, cities and students socioeconomic levels. Moreover, the result shows that some school characteristics are more important at certain school year and its impact is greater for math than reading.
