This study will analyze the simple past tense together with some temporary markers, such as in order to see if they along with an explanation about how to use the simple past tense help the Swedish-speaking student to use the right verb tense or not. In order to understand the differences between the past tense in Spanish and Swedish this study will briefly compare the two past tenses with each other. In order to see if the temporary markers help this study will compare the results obtained by two groups of students. The students are of the same age and they are Swedish students that study Spanish for the first time at secondary school. One group will get an explanation about how to use the simple past tense together with the temporary markers and the other group will get an explanation about how to use the past tense but no extra explanation about the temporary markers will be given to them.
