Tagung zu Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk (1850–1937) an der TU Dresden: 8. Bohemicum Dresdense: Tagungsbericht

Kuße, Holger 20 July 2020 (has links)

Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk a jeho význam pro dnešek / Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk and his significance for today

Krása, Jakub January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the legacy of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. The work aims to reveal whether Masaryk's legacy can be important for today. Specifically, the work deals with the still unresolved issues of Masaryk's life, his cult and selected Masaryk's reflections. The author based his work on secondary literature and especially on Masaryk's texts which he analyzed and compared with today. An integral part of this work are the author's comments which are based on philosophy and other social sciences. The author proved that Masaryk is still draws interest of experts and laymen, that Masaryk's cult still has a place in Czech society and that Masaryk's thoughts about morality, politics and education are more than relevant today. Masaryk's ideas about religion may be inspiring for the present but their implementation would not be easy. On the other hand, a new social order based on abstinence seems to be impossible. The author also raised several questions for further research.

České státní pohřby / Czech State Funerals

Preininger, Matouš January 2016 (has links)
This paper describes and compares funerals of three presidents, Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, Klement Gottwald and Václav Havel. They were all iconic characters of their time and their funerals reflect presidents'unique position. In the speeches of politicians and in the newspapers, the deceased presidents turned into supernatural beings, heroes, who gave their lives for their country. As a response to this "sacrifice", oaths of loyalty to their legacy were sworn and people committed to follow the path the presidents established. Theories of Maurice Bloch and Edmund Leach permit to show how the death of the head of the state, potentially destructive event, is transformed by the ritual and helps further strengthen the unity of society.

Vývoj myšlenky československého státu v 19. a na počátku 20. století / Develppment of the idea of czechoislovakian state in the 19th and at the beginning of 20th century.

Suchánek, Petr January 2018 (has links)
This thesis occupies itself with the background of the idea of czechoslovakian state through the outlook of national revival and perspective of T. G. Masaryk. The goal is to inquire how the individual components change in time between 19th and beginning of 20th century. For that purpose methods of analysis and comparison of primary texts of authors who occupied themselves with the topic are used. Contribution of this work is in looking at the problem through the lenses of contemporary documents. Main finding is that some of the arguments on which the idea of czechoslovakian state lays are not very solid.

Masaryk a filosofie / Masaryk and Philosophy

Namyslo, Pavel January 2017 (has links)
The topic of the present thesis is the philosophy of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. The main aim of the theses is to create a complete and lucid progress of Masaryk's thinking considering the main influence on Masaryk as a philisopher. The thesis examines what and who influenced Masaryk the most and which individual experience formed his global philosophy. The thesis proceeds chronologically and copies Masaryk's life. It describes his pesonal development influenced by the work of other authors and philosophers and also by examining the answers of newly risen questions. The individual traces in his thinking, however, are not strictly isolated. The theses is thus trying to find the intersection of different influences. The issues are mostly identical. Nevertheless, Masaryk's attitude towards them develops and changes. Every influence on Masaryk and his reflection would make a thesis itself, therefore we remain at the basic philosophical points. The theses examines three areas - the first is Masaryk's source, meaning the inspiring author. Second is Masaryk's interpretation and understanding. The last area deals with Masaryk's comments and other authors analyzing his work. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Sebevražda včera a dnes / Suicide yesterday and today

Sekerák, Richard January 2020 (has links)
In this diploma thesis Suicide yesterday and today I focus on the topis of suicide in the point of view of social studies. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first part, I analyze three theoretical works dealing with suicide and suicide, namely the works of Emil Durkheim, Tomas Garrigue Masaryk and the collective works of Luděk Brož, Daniel Münster and other theorists. In the first part, I conclude that in the theoretical field there is no consensus on the interpretation of the causes of suicide. In the second part of my work I compare this three theoretical works and I also present the conclusions of the theoretical probe, which I developed in this work. This part is divided into thematic chapters according to possible causes of suicide, which I came to mainly based on the theoretical part. In the second part, I try to connect and compare scientific-theoretical views on suicide and unscientific views. The aim of the theoretical probe was not to find answers to questions related to the issue of suicide, its aim was to bring new perspectives to the discussion concerning suicide. Key words Suicide, suicidologie, Masaryk, Brož, Durkheim, suicide reasons

Buberův kulturní sionismus a Masarykův humanismus - komparativní studie / Buber's Curtural Zionism and Masaryk's Humanism - Comparative Study

Venclová, Marie January 2012 (has links)
99 Summary Buberův kulturní sionismus a Masarykův humanismus - komparativní studie Buber's Cultural Zionism and Masaryk's Humanism - Comparative Study Marie Venclová This thesis deals with various aspects of understanding the term nation, its roots and dimensions in the works of Martin Buber and Tomas Garrigue Masaryk. The comparative study is based on analysis of Buber's Three Addresses on Judaism and Masaryk's Problem of a Small Nation. In these texts the philosophers present their attitudes and ideas about the meaning, origin and content of the existence of a nation. The results of the comparison show, that their points of view are similar in more than a few aspects and what most importantly bonds their ideas is the moral, spiritual and cultural understanding of the meaning of a nation. Furthermore, they both stress the responsibility of each and every individual part of the society for implementing such ideas into practice. Buber's cultural Zionism as well as Masaryk's humanism are also concepts based on critical self-reflection and need of education, which serves to broaden horizons and identify positive values in one's own nation. Motivation for this thesis resided in unique legal position of the Jewish minority in Czechoslovakia after the First World War. Based on the results of the comparison we...
